No, you can not combine the film in this way, you will lose the safety function. The safety film is come with special adhesive to strong hold on the glass. The first layer must be safety film.

Senario 1 :
Glass | (1) Solar Film | (2) Safety Film = No safety function

Senario 2 :
Glass | (1) Safety Film | (2) Solar Film = Got safety function.

By the way, safety film is not suitable to tint for front and rear windscreen. if you think your existing film is good, what you need to do is just change the all side windows to safety film, remain the front and rear windscreen film.

To compliant with JPJ rules.

Front Windscreen : VLT > 70%
The rest of windows : VLT >50%

The darkest tint you can choose is VLT : 55%, after install on your window glass, I think the VLT will become 50%-52%.
Meaning is not dark at all.

Bro, why not you keep the front and back windscreen, change the 4 side windows to safety with high heat rejection.
If you feel is hot if existing film. Chang the front windscreen film also.

Another idea is tint 2nd layer solar film on top of existing film. But both product warranty will void.

Raytech is only specialist in window tinting at the moment. I think the company may input other product like paint protection or sticker in future. However it is not available now.

About the safety film, there is more things to explain.
1. The main purpose for safety film is delaying break in time maybe about 30 second for you to escape if somebody trying to break your glass.
2. The glass still will be broken when the break strength above 120lb, meaning people still can safety you from outside.
3. Safety film will hold the glass strong to prevent shattered glass flying and injure you.
4. If you want to escape from inside the car. You need special technique to break the glass. watch and learn :

After reading whole day. I would like to share my thought with those who are inexperience as me, and looking for good tint + security + JPJ less kacau + reasonable. Don't shoot me too harsh. just my thought ok.

1. Don't go for ayam brand. You will regret.
* Brand that unable to tell you the name of the USA manufacturer and it is not stated in their website.
* No Recognition from their manufacturer.

2. Most recommended: Huper Optik (HO), VKOOL & 3m
- You may include Raytech and Llumar as it is International Brand too.

3. Security film, for eg: 4 mil, just merely thicker. In general: It takes ~ 8 seconds to break your window with 4 mil tint, while normal tint takes ~ 4. seconds.(subject to skill and tool)
* The more accurate explanation is 4mil can support up to 120lbs strength impact.
* A good safety film should stand at least 30 second to buy enough time for escaping.
* In this issue, USA product is very important. Product from Korea is very poor on its safety although it is thick.
* Raytech safety film is certified by ANSI (America National Standard Institute) and we provide live demo in many place.

5. Some security film might not have good TSER compare to normal film. So you have to judge you want better heat rejection or want a few more seconds before someone break your car windows.
* This statement in not true now.
* Product like Raytech Centurion 6mil, Centurion 4mil, 3M Nano 70 & Nano 40 (3mil), V-kool Secure (8mil), Llumar Palladium(9mil) come with high TSER. Some product is available since last year.


6. My own experience: Regardless of seller and brand, your friends will get quoted price cheaper than you for rm300~500 for the same spec, or vice versa. That's kinda sad. That's why you only allow to PM for price (so called professional). No choice la. cari makan. i understand. but still a bit sad, cause different too much d. rm100-200 still can accept. but 200~500 is too much. Nobody like to be water fish. So for new guys, always ask your friends for price comparison!
* Promotion from time to time is different in all company.

7. Afterall, the most recommended tint spec I found is:
* This is very subjective on personal recommended tint. Sometimes, you need to see the budget and the true quality of the film itself.
* I provide 3 important tips to choose the good film.
i) Choose Brand that selling genuine USA product.
ii) Choose Original product for its brand. (Normally come with brand's packaging and logo on the film itself)
iii) Finally, test the tint with spotlight or Solar Meter device.

8. I research the spec above from official website. new inexperience should do so for your prefer tint.
* Original Product name will appear on it's website. Prevent yourself from buying "non-original" product or "House-brand' product.
* Some USA brand authorized dealers selling 90% of "House Brand" product.

9. Beware of double layer tint, or tint over 6 mil tick, it will spoil your power window. (too heavy i guess?)
* Thicker film will disrupt the power window in 1-2 years time.
* Double layer normally not compliant with JPJ.

10. In the end, balance between the price and the spec is what will you should consider to make your decision.
* Window Film warranty period is very long and Malaysia weather is very humid and hot.
* If you got budget RM1-2K. Just get the best tint in your car and enjoy the best protection.

Hi bro, myvi or normal MPV will not have this problem as the rear windscreen is quite vertical, but compare to slope rear windscreen for saloon car, this phenomena is very normal. I see it in many cars too.

Raytech Ultra 70 is for front windscreen and Centurion Series is safety film can be install for other windows.

Most of safety film 4mil - 6mil will not spoilt your car power window. I'm not recommended safety film thicker than 6mil film.

The suggestion for the VLT35% for the 2 rear side window and rear windscreen has not get the approval from Parliament yet. It is just a suggestion from Timbalan Menteri talk during the "Bengkel Discussion. But this make me really confuse, before this Ketua Pengarah JPJ, emphasis want to catch dark tinted due to criminal case may happen inside the car as the police officer can't see into the car tinted with dark film, and the new suggestion is helping on the criminal case again as VLT 35% very hard to see thought also.

According to the AAA Association Malaysia, (this is association for audio, accessories, tinted and air-con) their request during the "bengkel Discussion" is list as below :
VLT for the front > 60%
VLT for the rest of window >40%
I think AAA proposal is more reasonable and good for public.

Hi guys, sorry i am busy these days, sorry for late reply.
I think everybody know the front windscreen the VLT must above 70% and VLT for the side and the back should above 50% in order to compliant with JPJ rules. Centurion 4mil VLT58% is only apply for the side, should have not problem at all. In Centurion 4mil package, the front will be Raytech Ultra 70. Indeed, most of the glass is not 100% clear, so we need higher VLT film to apply on the glass to make sure it is still compliant with JPJ.

Hi, just for your info, there is 2 types of bubbles on the window film.

a) Dirt Bubbles - Normally will not disappear, can claim workmanship warranty and need retint.

b) Air Bubbles - Normally will disappear within 3-4 days for SOLAR film.
- Normally will not disappear for SAFETY film, unless u can wait for few months.

Last advice, if you not sure what kind of bubble is it, and the bubble still there after 1 week, it is advice to drive back the car to the tinting shop and ask for warranty claim. Normally, they will fix back for you.
