Unfortunately Inspire 1 costs arm and leg. For RM16K it reduces flight time 25m to 18m, darm huge and fugly.
![]() Well ok it uses Sony Exmor Sensor for that 4K video but then those sensor also can be found in most smartphones. ![]() ![]() Ok they eliminated wifi in inspire 1 and increase the range to 2km for radio and video thats good More comparison here http://myfirstdrone.com/tutorials/buying-g...h-drone-to-buy/ WHat do you think? |

Amazing Drone inside Fireworks
If GoPro has bigger sensor this video would have been clearer and less noisy |

Since this is photography section, getting high quality shot and useable footage in any light condition ( day / night ) is vital. Most drone related forums and sites only focus on the drone. Nonetheless having good equipment will help us to achieve all the aforementioned.
My idea (RM so low now to start online shopping)
Camera : Sony QX1 = light 158g + 67g Pancake Wide Angle Lens + APSC Sensor + wifi + cheap (If Crash / Flyaway) (GoPro Hero4 Black = RM1.8k) Gimbal : Good 3 axis motors for GoPro will be able to sustain weight of QX1 = not proven since nobody use it yet though i would love to use it for handheld stabilizer too. (2+1 function) Around Rm300-500 on ebay
Display : Sony Xperia Z3 = Multi Viewers feature + water proof or use your own smartphone. OPTIONAL FPV : Google Glass = more stylish and small. (Goggle is not recommended due to dangerous watching FPV alone while flying due to wide angle view - craft may crash on tree/building while still looking safe in the monitor) We must able to see our craft while shooting.
Range : Wifi extender = Only for shooting above clouds, shooting without seeing where is the camera is risk of flyaway. TPLink will come out with dual band (5Ghz/2Ghz) lowpowered USB Range extender. Alternatively DJI Lightbridge (USD $1399) http://www.dji.com/product/dji-lightbridge Landing Skids |
Note : We should use 5.8Ghz transmitter since QX1 is using 2.4Ghz to avoid radio interference with wifi from camera / extender. Highly unlikely but just to be safe. This post has been edited by chokia: Dec 14 2014, 09:30 PM |

I'd recommend to take a look at the new DJI Phantom Pro 4 which flies higher, faster and supports new brand features like Follow Me mode. Also it has longer flight range and more powerful battery. Plus, don't forget about recording video in 4K. More about this in Phantom 4 Pro Review.
