He might have some cool promotions going on~ Last I heard he got stock up this particular model as well. Try to persuade him to throw in an SSD for you  brows.gif  brows.gif  SHould be possible with your budget~

What I dont like Y410P is the screen... the color seen dull compare to Dell...
And only highest brightness level is acceptable. sweat.gif

i worry Y510P will having same issue as 410P

p/s : This new laptop will replace my current for editing photo.
Major usage

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Is the hdd upgradable?
Just found out that the Acer model isn't, can't change the hdd to ssd... I wanted the laptop to have a ssd instead of hdd.

Is the screen matte or glossy? FHD? I think I am ok to sacrifice ips screen as long as the screen looks good.

How is the sound system?

Sorry if I am asking abit too much. Kinda noob to all this.
Had to do my research from scratch.

I also looking for this.
Currently consider this or Y510P

let me answer you

1.HDD unable upgrade except you change to new one.
2. Unable add SSD, except u remove primary HDD to SSD (lack or space)
3. Screen type, i still checking with Dell.
4. Full HD - Yes (not IPS IINM)
5. Sound - refer back Dell web information

hope this help.
Y510P able upgrade SSD by two option.
1. Add caddy drive and primary HDD to DVD drive
2. Add NGFF M2 SSD ( currently lack of this type in Msia) --> Google MydigitialSSD NGFF

Hi tachlio,

Thanks for answering.

As long as the hdd can be swap for ssd, it's fine. Apparently Acer model can't even swap for ssd.

I saw a lot people recommend Lenovo y510p but seems like there has been some rather bad response.

So I am quite puzzled on which model to get as well, if the Asus didn't have such scrappy after sales support, I think I would have bought Asus instead.
