QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Dec 11 2013, 09:26 AM) the Lenovo Z510 and MSI GP60. both shares the same GPU and CPU. the key factor here is the CPU used; the Lenovo Z510 and MSI GP60 use quad core i7, while the N550LF and K551LB use dual core ULV i5 and i7 (respectively). Those games that optimized quad core, the configuration is done in the in game settings right? Or is it if I'm playing the game with a quad core processor, then it'll auto optimized? when it comes to battery life, the Lenovo Z510 and MSI GP60 are power hungry compared to the ULV i5 and i7 used in ASUS N550LF and K551LB, as the ULV CPU main function is to conserve battery life. FYI, some games are optimized to run quad core, so it will be a bottleneck to use a lower Hz and dual core CPU for gaming. |

Dear sifus,
1. Preferred Brand : any brand except Apple and Acer 2. Budget : max 2.5k 3. Usage : web browsing, opening 2 flash games (ex. farmville and cityville) at the same time, eclipse, netbean, watching movies, gaming (torchlight 2, PES 2013, Diablo 3), good heat ventilation. 4. Preferred laptop/screen size : any So far I have minor it down to 4 laptop. Vostro 5470 (i5-4xxxU), HP Pavilion 14-n060tx, Lenovo Z510 (i5), MSI GP60 (i5). For Vostro and Pavilion, both is quite thin, I afraid it gets heat up easily. for the Z510 and GP60, both gt740m is using the 64 bit version. Any other suggestions? Recently bought myself a Lenovo Z510 thanks to sifu raymondthong's recommendation.
Now I'm asking on behalf of my friend (female) 1. Preferred Brand: any 2. Budget: 2 - 2.5k 3. Usage: normal usage (movie + music), no gaming, just light flash games like fb games, statistical software, software used by dietitian (she's studying dietitian course) 4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 or 15. If possible 14, don't wan too heavy. thanks in advance. This post has been edited by briantwj: Feb 10 2014, 03:54 PM |
