1. Preferred Brand: (Any at the moment, as all the while using Apple Mac, but looking for a newer laptop as my old mac of 5 years acting up)

2. Budget: 3-4k , if installment then maybe can take up to 5k

3. Usage: Generally work and gaming if possible

4. Preferred laptop/screen size : Currently i am eyeing Either Apple Macbook Air 13 inch with 256 SSD, or Lenovo ThinkPad T440p or Lenovo Y510p

anyone can recommend?

You are listing 3 models with very different characteristics.

MBA - 13", very light, chic. Gaming in OSX? Unless you bootcamp or VM with Win OS, not much game titles.
T440p - 14" bento box that build like a tank.
Y510p - 15" bling bling entry level gaming machine, heavy, build quality is nothing to shout about.

So what do you really want?

If you want something not too heavy, CAN look like a bento with solid build, and CAN bling bling during gaming, then:

Illegear RE-13 Pro, i5-4200M + Nvidia GTX765M + (1920x1080 IPS)@RM3999[2kg][Onkyo, SoundBlaster Cinema], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), Backlit Keyboard, FreeDOS, [CPU Options: i5-4200M - i7-4900MQ]

haha, thanks Nexus, its a lot of difference between between the above, MBA or MBP because been using Mac for personal use for past 5 years, but as you said quite limited game titles unless pair with parallel windows, but the graphics card is kinda limited since integrated Intel 5000 graphic card

whereas my choice of ThinkPad was well build like a tank yet still efficient though maybe no at this point of time as a primary choice yet

Y510p was due to well gaming machine yet can do other stuff but boy it is heavy sad.gif

Generally speaking just light gaming i.e. Warcraft, Starcraft or Dota type of game, nothing too taxing, i am fine with playing low reso and low quality

More focus toward portability which MBA was my choice but thinking windows can play more games

The HD5000 in MBA 13" can handle the game titles you mentioned in low details reasonably.
So if you are used to Mac OS and the quality of MacBook, may be should stick with it smile.gif

The illegear RE-13 Pro that was suggested has solid build, IPS screen, can handle games well. But battery run time is poor if you are used to MBA's battery runtime. It's definitely heavier than MBA smile.gif

read this thread, there are quite a number of owners of RE-13 Pro posted their feedback on this model.

low detail actually not so low also... intel graphic 5000 is consider very okay already...

for example dota 2 will lag abit on intel graphic 4000.... for 5000 it wont...

Thanks for the explanation, Intel Graphics the one i had in my old white macbook is kinda depressing GMA X3100

starting from Intel HD5000, all the games with lowest settings at HD resolution is playable.
