Hi Guys, which is better from the below options, both is around the same price.

1) Dell Vostro 5460 - i5-3777U/4GB/2GB Nvidia GT630/500GB + 32GB mSATA

2) Lenovo G400s -  i3-3110M/4GB/Intel HD 4000/128GB SSD/500GB external HDD
*
Are those 2nd hand units?
G400s never has a factory spec with 128GB SSD smile.gif
In term of general responsiveness, the G400s spec win.
In term of GPU (3D gaming) performance, the 5460 is better (GT630M vs HD4000).

That's the thing, with that budget most are i5-4200U with GT 740M, only 14R and 15R can give me 4500U with GT750M.
I might need it for medium gaming (assn creed, cod in medium setting), and some engineering drawing, i afraid 4200U +740M might not be able to reach my needs
*
Never hurt to have more firepower for those tasks you mentioned smile.gif

Sorry. Should have elaborate more on "better quality". Currently I am using 5 years old Dell Inspiron 14. I dont like the not solid feel of the laptop, prefer brand comes with better built which can last me for few years usage without much problem. How is I raise up the budget to RM3k?

Thanks.
*
Listed quite a few models for you previously. Check them out 1st smile.gif
The Asus Pro, HP ProBook, Lenovo V480 in particular has "solid" feel for RM2.5k price range.
There is also a slight difference between 14 and 14R smile.gif (not much, but slightly better build).

If you hike up to RM3k, then can consider these as well:

Asus
PRO45VJ-V0049X, i7-3520QM + Nvidia GT635M@RM3099[2.4kg], 8GB, 750GB, W7P

Dell
Latitude 14 3000 (sorry don't have the detail spec and price, but should be comparable to others)

Lenovo
ThinkPad Edge E431, i7-3632QM + Nvidia GT635M@RM3179[2.15kg], 4GB, 1TB, W7P/W8P, anti-glare

Prices are RSP, negotiable.

Pls suggest any laptop with these specs.

Min requirement
LCD : 15" (1600x900 and above)
CPU : 4200OU (must be haswell)
Graphic : prefer integrated (non gamer)
budget : 3000
Thanks.
*
All consumer class 15" laptop with HD+ (1600x900) or above screen has discrete GPU, except this, which is above your budget:

Dell
XPS 15, i5-4200H + Intel HD 4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)+ (1920x1080; Touch)@RM4999 [2.0kg], 8GB, W8.1SL, backlit keyboard, 61Whr

You seems to be a photographer. Photoshop (certain features) and other graphic software actually can take advantage of discrete GPU. You may appreciate IPS screen or TN screen with good colour gamut.
Can consider these:

Acer
V7-582PG-74508G52k, i7-4500U + Nvidia GT750M + 24GB mSATA + 500GB HDD + (1920x1080 IPS; touch)@RM3399[2.2kg], 8GB, W8
Asus
N550JV-CN077H, i7-4700HQ + Nvidia GT750M + (1920x1080; IPS matte)@RM3699[2.7kg], 4GB, 1TB, W8, backlit keyboard
Dell
Inspiron 15 7000, i7-4500U + Nvidia GT750M (GDDR5) + (1920x1080; Touch)@RM3599[2.6kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), W8SL, backlit keyboard, 58Whr

Prices are RSP, negotiable.

1. Brand: any brand
2. Budget: 2k and below if possible (otherwise max at 2.3k)
3. Use: gta 4, diablo 3, microsoft office, surfing..
4. Extra criteria: Best bang-of-buck
5: Screen Size: any size

anyway, to narrow the scope, i currently had my eye on the Dell Inspiron 14R (i5-4500U, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, GT 740M) which cost RM1849.00

would the above mentioned model be able to handle gta 4 and diablo 3?..otherwise, what other bang-for-buck lappie would serve my above-mentioned use without crossing the 2k price mark?

icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
For that spec, model with competitive price is that Inspiron 14R and this:
HP
Pavilion 14-N059TX, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM1999[2.03kg], 4GB, 750GB, W8
There seems to some promo going on, you could get it at slightly above RM1.8k hmm.gif

For your usage, the GTA4 is a concern. That game is notorious for being a CPU hog (poor port to PC platform).

if the discrete GPU kick in, no.
if run on Intel IGPU, decent, close to 5-6 hours, normal surfing.

New here, need to get a good laptop as my old laptop toasted.
not sure laptop market for now, need some guidance & thank you.
1. anything
2. 2~3K, probably 3.5K max budget.
3. moderate to heavy gaming, 3D work & etc.
4. 15~17 inch

special requirement:
- preferable nvidia GPU
- processor maybe i5 or i7
- laptop ventilation ok, as long as easy to clean-up dust or anything
- i usually go for desktop replacement type laptop, weight doesn't matter.

Anyway, Intel i3 CPU and Intel HD is more than sufficient (you actually can make do with Intel Celeron or even Intel Atom Baytrail (Z3xxx) CPU).

That 4752G is spec with Sandy Bridge i5 (i5-2xxxM) and Nvidia GT5xxM right? hmm.gif
Did you keep the air inlet / outlet clean? Also try to re-apply thermal paste and clean out the fan to see if it help.

At your budget, you will not get laptop with very good build-in cooling system.
