the thinner your laptop, the more heat you get.

1. Preferred Brand - Other than Acer
2. Budget - 2k-3k
3. Usage - Engineering use. Long lasting battery. If available, Haswell processor.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 13"-14"
*
for engineering use, you should take advantage of quad cores, higher amount of RAM and a GPU as well. anyway, long lasting battery is very subjective. if you use the engineering software on battery mode, then it will drain faster than on battery mode + WiFi. the closest option for you (no long lasting battery) :

Lenovo
Y410p, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT755M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 4GB, 1TB, DOS, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty

price is RSP and negotiable. use the remaining budget to extend RAM to 8GB and get a Windows 7.

Hello, i'm a college student in Graphic Engineering and Database Research for Multimedia. I already have i3 2330 Nvidia GT520M for my project, but couldn't run smoothly when it required a large amount of memory. So i had to resell the laptop to bought a new laptop. I got recommended for GPU Nvidia GT720M for my stuff. Please help me out.

1. Preferred Brand : None
2. Budget : Only could afford for RM1.5K; prefer i5 series
3. Usage : Normal/Gaming/Project
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14", not need touch screen.

Note - If possible, i would like to use W7 for main OS.

Thanks, and sorry for trouble.

with that budget, totally cant get a laptop that can runs your graphics engineering software smoothly. sweat.gif

Thanks for replying. For now, i'd love to bought that kinda rig, but i could only support for RM1.5++k, since student life is pretty demanding. For now, ill try to search cheaper i5 with Nvidia GT650M ~ 720M series or above for my work.

Thanks for the recommend. I'll try to wait until stuff get cheaper.
