For gaming, just get the best GPU you can afford.
If Nvidia GT7xxM, the higher the XX, the better.

well, not much know why they design it like dat.  sweat.gif  as long as the heat flow inside the laptop and keep the palm rest area cool... its ok for me..  nod.gif
price provided in the brochure of the brands product. some of the price are provided by seller from garage sales.  nod.gif  have a look and visit.  brows.gif
Y510p graphic card and N56JR graphic card is on par.. the different is not much..

The GeForce GT 755M and the GeForce GTX 760M have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GeForce GT 755M has 16 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GeForce GTX 760M, which means that the memory performance of the GeForce GT 755M is slightly better than the GeForce GTX 760M.

In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 760M are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce GT 755M.
so..between lenovo y510p and asus n56jr.. i gonna pick n56jr.. cz have 12gb ram. (8gb x 4gb).

illeager re-15 also good. may i know your  budget? so, i assume you prefer i7 processor isnt it..?

If your main concern is gaming performance, then go with Y410P.
If you like good warranty support, then take the Inspiron 14R and use the remaining of your budget to extend warranty to 3 years ( ~ RM300).

For your budget, the best GPU you can get is GT740M.
Other than the HP you found, can also look at the following:

Dell
Inspiron 14R, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM1849 [2.32kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Linux, 6 cell; W8@RM2049

HP
Pavilion 14-N059TX, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM1999[2.03kg], 4GB, 750GB, W8

And that's about it.
Prices are RSP, negotiable.

hey guys.. i need some help here in choosing one of these two laptops..mainly for gaming and watching movies..

first,
- Asus S550CB-CJ103H VivoBook 15.6"
- Intel® Core™ i7-3537U-2.0GHz
- 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SATA HDD + 24GB SSD
- Nvidia® GeForce® GT740M
- Windows 8 64 bit

second is,
- Dell Inspiron 15R 5537-4500 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-4500U-1.8GHz
- 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SATA HDD
- AMD Radeon™ HD 8850M
- Windows 8 64-bit

for the dell laptop, would it be alright without integrated graphic to play some good graphic games?
is it an optional to choose whether it would have the touch screen or not? if it is, how much do i have to pay for that?

which of these has better audio performance? and what is the drawback of having non genuine windows 8?

i'm thinking of dell laptop because i could save some from it. but i still need opinion in this.

thanks, in advance nod.gif

RSP for Vaio Pro 13:
Vaio SVP13218PGB, i7-4500U + Intel HD4400 + 256GB SSD + (1920x1080)@RM4999[1.06kg], 4GB, W8SL, stylus
Vaio SVP13213SGS, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 128GB SSD + (1920x1080)@RM3799[1.06kg], 4GB, W8SL

So it's out of your budget. In fact most 13" models are out of your budget smile.gif

Do you mean you are starting your degree in Architecture?
You will use software to do 3D modelling, which mean you should look for laptop models with discrete GPU.

Since you mentioned Viao Pro 13, I supposed you prefer something lighter? Then forget about 15" (mostly > 2kg).
Look for something like these instead:

Acer
V5-473PG-54204G50, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M +(1366x768;touch)@RM2299, 4GB, 500GB,W8 *no OD

Asus
K451LB-WX071H, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199, 4GB, 750GB, W8

Dell
Vostro 5470, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2249, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8, 3-cell
Vostro 5470, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm) + (1366x768; Touch)@RM2549, 4GB, W8.1, 3-cell

HP
Pavilion 14-N059TX, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM1999[2.03kg], 4GB, 750GB, W8

Sony
Vaio SVF14318SG, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768;touch)@RM2399, 4GB, 500GB, W8SL

S550CB - more responsive due to the mSATA 24GB SSD caching.
15R - longer battery run time due to 4th (Haswell) gen CPU and larger battery (6 cells).
Gaming performance - GT740M and HD8850M is about on par, performance vary depending on game titles.

"for the dell laptop, would it be alright without integrated graphic to play some good graphic games?" - don't understand this question. The 15R has discrete GPU. All Intel CPU has integrated graphic (IGPU).

Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) @RM2499[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), Linux, 65WHr; W8SL@RM2699
Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) + (1366x768, Touch)@RM3099[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), W8SL, 65WHr
don't bother with touchscreen on 15" conventional laptop form factor.

Audio - both are pretty ok for laptop (laptop audio sucks anyway laugh.gif ). You will get better sound from cheap (~ RM100) external desktop speakers.

"drawback of having non genuine windows 8" - ???
If you mean the Linux spec, that mean you need to get and install OS yourself.
As for captain jack w8, not appropriate to discuss on LYN smile.gif

You need i7 quad core. More RAM is better (8GB at least) (also help your multi-tasking). 4GB RAM stick ~ RM100, 8GB ~ RM200. Also need discrete GPU.
For your budget, you can't get laptop that come with really good ventilation design hmm.gif So learn to make do with external cooling solution, e.g. cooling pad, table fan, ... (and it will get hot when you do rendering tongue.gif )
