Very2 tight budget, i suggest u wait out and save some more around 2k-ish,
get a good laptop that could last u 3-4 years depending on usage

You could try
Lenovo
G400s, i3-3110M + Nvidia GT720M@RM1449, 4GB, 500GB, FreeDOS

But do note it does not come with an OS, u need to install urself (ehem2)
or let shop install ori which adds 200-350+

Top up RM199

Acer E1-572G RM1699

Intel® Core™ i5-4200U-1.6GHz | 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB SATA HDD | AMD Radeon HD 8750M

Should be able to DOTA2 with High Settings rolleyes.gif

It's DOS though, so you gotta install your own.

Hi guys. I am seriously considering buying the lenovo thinkpad helix cos of the convenience of just carrying the tablet. However on the lenovo forums there seems to be some problems with the fan. Does this issue affect the products here too, anyone with this helix can share some experience.

Other than this can anyone recommend other detachable hybrids that has 3g conn (a must) that runs on i7 core. Appreciate if can provide the price and where available too. Thanks alot.

Well in a logical sense. If u want portability u have to compromise on weight. If u want power u have to compromise portability. They just dont add up well.. So if u decide to cram a lot of turbo power in a kancil. Something is bound to go wrong. Fans problem are expected from such thin devices with powerful internal specs.. Just maintain regularly and apply the thermal space once in a while and u should be good

Hi kiva, thanks for the quick reply. :clap Ok, so if fan is the only issue then i think i can live with that. Just worried cos someone in the forum posted that the fan can run at hi speed non stop, cos will be lugging it with me whole day. Thanks again. notworthy.gif

It runs on high speed when there is intensive task going on in the pc
and the system goes turbo mode where the fans kick in to take out the heat.
If its casual use i dont think it would be much of a problem nod.gif

Hello bro if topup to 5k max is it possible to get a good 17 inch gaming? Still the same as my previous request.

1. Any brand but I heard alot complaining lenovo always drag few months for the warranty issues?
2. Mainly gaming , school (BF4 on ultra set)
3. Good heat ventilation does not overheat easily after few hours
4. Weight is okay for me. Personally prefer heavier ones can feel "some weight" carrying it lol!

Or are there some other upcoming laptops I should wait for? Thank you

What if 14" but without numpad ? Got Windows 7 Option? I tried windows 8 before...but somehow it doesn't feel right.

Maybe due to most of my windows computer are using Win 7 OS

Also

ASUS

A550CC-XX530H, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT720M@RM2099[2kg], 4GB, 750GB, W8; colors: black/red/white

vs

Dell

Nowadays all new laptop comes preloaded with win8.
If u want 7 u have to install urself but make sure got driver for the laptop first if not gg haha smile.gif

Among those two picks depends on what u want to do with it. Gaming go for asus (nvidia graphics win amd in the long run). Work intensive dell 15r (better proc)
