XPS - premium line laptop, better specs (for 15 incher), light, expenisve
Inspiron - consumer line laptop, variable options, cheaper, heavier

Dell
Inspiron 14R, i7-4500U + Nvidia GT750M (GDDR5) @RM2499[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), Ubuntu 12.04 , 6 cell; W8SL@RM2699
Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) @RM2499[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), Linux, 65WHr; W8SL@RM2699

Inspiron 15 7000, i7-4500U + Nvidia GT750M (GDDR5) + (1920x1080; Touch)@RM3599[2.6kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), W8SL, backlit keyboard, 58Whr

not sure about how light your laptop should be. or you can consider Lenovo for better specs :

Lenovo
Y410p, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT755M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 4GB, 1TB, DOS, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty

or the small but might Illegear RE-13

Illegear
RE-13 Pro, i5-4200M + Nvidia GTX765M + (1920x1080 IPS)@RM3999[2kg][Onkyo, SoundBlaster Cinema], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), Backlit Keyboard, FreeDOS, [CPU Options: i5-4200M - i7-4900MQ]

option 3. option 2 is totally bottlenecked by the processor and weaker GPU, and option 1 is weaker than option 3 about 20%, due to its ULV CPU.

Thanks for the prompt respond, appreciate your help very much.
i have some confusion  rclxub.gif , you recommend Inspiron 15 7000 vs 15R but i check the spec and price seem like 15R is cheaper with better spec, is there any hidden spec i dont see on Dell website?

Same processor, window and screen but
15 7000 vs 15R
6GB Ram vs 8GB Ram
7500GB HDD vs 1TB HDD
Intel® HD Graphics 4400 vs AMD Radeon™ HD 8670M 2GB DDR3
RM2899 vs RM2299

Thanks

you must go see the actual laptop... then you will know the spec/price is not deciding factor for you to choose the laptop d

the exterior and built quality is always neglected by buyers...

whereas for a laptop, imo, the most important is built quality, design, screen, keyboard quality, touchpad quality, ventilation, brand, then only talk about spec....

very powderful laptop but if pair with choppy keyboard or awkward touchpad... will deduct the overall score of the laptop... even you pay a little bit extra... it is worth also, coz you will forget how much you pay after a few month...

Can consider this one brows.gif
14" Dell Inspiron 14 7000, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2699[2.02kg], 6GB(soldered), , W8SL, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

*price in RRP, negotiable
*the mSATA SSD will give you a much smoother computing experience than just having a lot of CPU performance
*use remaining budget for warranty extension to 3 years

Hi PF T.J.
