thanks bro that was really quick rclxms.gif
i tried garage sales section and apparently most Y510P comes with GT750M, any idea on this?
i'm not really sure whether my softwares are CPU intensive rclxub.gif but i guess this really helped me. thanks biggrin.gif
*
No problem man, glad to be able to help icon_rolleyes.gif
Y510p with GT750M is an older generation one.. I suppose you can consider also if the price is right (cheaper than the one recommended to you with GT755M) haha laugh.gif
Well, if you need to leave your softwares for them to render or calculate stuffs, then its considered as intensive I guess haha laugh.gif

Older generations runs on Nvidia GT750M graphic card (the notebook should be RM2999 or lower). The most recent one runs on Nvidia GT755M icon_rolleyes.gif

Now thinking lenovo , dell inspiron 14r i7 and acer recomended by nexus sifu!

What is ur opinion dai lou? Can't decide
*
For the Dell Inspiron 14R, warranty support is of top priority to me (otherwise no point getting Dell nod.gif), so I'd opt for the i5 variant suggested by nexus sifu instead, use remaining budget to extend warranty to 3 years and upgrading the RAM nod.gif Upgrade further to SSD after 1 year or 2 when the HDD slows down significantly nod.gif

Same goes to the Lenovo Z400 touch nod.gif

The Dell is better in terms of after sales service whereas the Lenovo has a better CPU icon_rolleyes.gif

been doing some research n some others stuff.... and there are a few laptop that i like from the model u both provided.... Big selling point is the huge canvas (resolution)... but i still couldnt decide which is better, anyone can help????

Apple

Apple is better, since you could always bootcamp to get the best of both worlds + Apple is more efficient when it comes to Photo and video editing laugh.gif
But make sure you have lots of RAM and space (and money in your pocket)! laugh.gif

However, if you are not interested in using Mac OSX, then the XPS15 will suffice. Just swap the hybrid HDD with a 512GB SSD and you will still be spending less than on the Apple units aforementioned

Regardless of what you choose in the end, do make sure you extend warranty to 3 years.. machines like this will cost a bomb when they break down laugh.gif

i5-4200U is optimised for long battery performance... used in many ultrabooks....

U and M definitely different category la..

The current ULV processors are not "poor" in performance man sweat.gif
If you've read what the inquirer wanted, you will know that the i5-4200U is capable of what his asking for nod.gif

512GB SSD = cost a bomb also la... lol....

anyway i would like to point out Intel Iris Pro 5200 is just 15% lower performance than nvidia 750m

Unfortunately you can't really get very much for RM1.5k (especially if you want good graphic performance)..
Can consider this one:
14"
Lenovo G400s, i3-3110M + Nvidia GT720M@RM1449, 4GB, 500GB, FreeDOS

Yes you can, but certain models might be a bit harder to access the inner components. If you are inexperienced, better leave it to the shop people to do it nod.gif
