Luxury cars fall in D segment, which means all the extra bells and whistles. For example, electric seat control, Start button, Napa leather seat covers, keyless entry,GPS, just to name a few!

408 falls in C segment, non luxury segment!

how those petrol station guy can differentiate car class ?

508 is D segment car and certainly luxury category!

I don't understand the need for petrol stations to differentiate car segments/class?

They can't actually. I pay by Credit Card, I don't need them. The government say this just to have fun.

They should practice to collect full road tax on expensive car. They should check why luxury car like Mercedes S500, BMW 7 Series, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar which pay road tax just for RM10/- only. That even cheaper then motorbike.

I can't say for sure the Gomen or the auto industry that has classified the car segments. Bro lowpro may have an answer.

There can be 2 different cars, equally sized with the same engine, but both fall in different segments. The reason for the cars to be in different segments is mainly due to extras in one which qualifies it as luxury car.

Consider the 408t and Citroen C5. Both same size and same engine, but C5 is D segment cos of all the luxury fittings!

508 with all the extras falls in luxury class. So does K5,although rubbish engine, but due to extras fittings is considered D segment, luxury segment!

All those $10 road tax you mentioned, is not the norm la. I'd say this is the Crony class! Aaah this one is Gomen created la! rclxub.gif

Dear 408T users,

I've been following the blog and truly am interested in purchasing a 408T this weekend with the Raya promotion at RM 115k+5years warranty + Free labour & Service. This is the best bargain right.Test drove this last week at the Bangsar Showroom and it's surely the best amongst the rest. Any advice. Appreciate your reply. Thanking you.

Last I checked the 115k is for the base model n it dors not come with free service. YOU CAN GET THE PREMIUM AT 118K.

I thought THP is the entry model and Griffe is the higher option. Stock clearance must be going on now, making way for the facelift model.

Personally I prefer the Griffe over the facelift.

115k is without leather seat, without skirting and spoiler, the rim is same like 2.0.  biggrin.gif

Oh I see! Much better looking leather covers, with lion embossed, can be done outside.

My sis got her Swift done with S embossed and very nice double stitched. I think it was under 3K,shop is somewhere at Sunway Industry area.

Tks for your feedback bro. At least now I don't feel so bad having paid full price, cos my alloy wheels and leather covers alone could cost $10K. Anyway you still got a good deal with 5year free service.

Really no time allowance? Coz i told the person over the phone that my car is due 29th June. And im only at 6k km. I definitely wont pass the mileage but if the whole of June is fully book, then sure miss the time. She said try other service center. I said i will most comfortable with Glenmarie. Then she explain time also got 2 weeks.

Anyways, i got my appointment made on 30th. So no issues. Just want to know what is the real allowance. 1 say yes and 1 say no. Confusing..... rclxub.gif

Don't worry, even the service manual confirms, 2 weeks or 500KM, which ever comes first. biggrin.gif

While we're on this topic. I got my car on 22 February and my first inspection was on 31 March.
So, if we were to look solely at month, when would the due date be for my first service?

Clic says it's in August but the SC that did the inspection says it's by 30th June.
*
Clic is right. As per manul, service intervals are 10Kkm/6months. An extension of 500km/2weeks is provided, after which warranty voids!

A very important factor here is, which ever comes first! Ppl often forget or disregard this cos not clearly stated, only implied. For example, having done 8Kkm in 6 months, do you think you can continue for another 2kkm before service? 2weeks from 6months date, warranty voids. Even if your car is not driven 1km more, warranty voids due to time exceedance.

In your case August is your next service. I suppose the SC staff has difficulty with simple math!

Hi Guys,

Just double confirm. As per my picture, the big metal thing to the left of the red hose and infront of the turbo housing is radiator right? And the other pic, below the black hose is our intercooler??
*
Yup,that's the one. Understand you gonna give it Barium Nitrate treatment. In theory that should improve cooling efficiency. Give us your feedback!

Ok. Thanks for the confirmation SKYjack.

Yes. I plan to do Boron Nitride coating. But in a dillema now. The place that used to do it no longer does it. Im referring to KL AUTO. They use a brand called TSD Baron Nitride. Im able to find the supplier but i can only purchase the spray from them. They dont provide the spraying service.

I found another place call After12Motorsport. They do the coating service. But they dont use this brand call TSD. They import a big barrel from US and spray it.

My dillema is:

1) After12Motorsport says it really does improve performance. But the coat will peel off. Not easily but still will if u use high presure water spray on it. So sending it to car wash might be a problem. I always send to car wash. But the TSD brand claim it will not peel off.

2) After12Motorsport says i can either spray the parts as it is with out removing it, or the can take the parts out for me and coat. Im worried about removing the radiator and intercooler. They mentioned is better to remove as they can coat it thoroughly. Worried they dont know how to remove and install back the parts properly and also, SC might know i remove the parts.

3) If peeling does happen, i worry it will be bad coz the coating flakes may go inside my engine.
Any opinions from the sifus here??

Thank you

I don't have any experience with this product,so can't comment on how good it is or durability. I know the product is an excellent thermal conductor. If it flakes off,I doubt it will cause any problems. No chance of getting into the engine, will fall off due to wind pressure.

However, for a complete job,the inter cooler has to be removed. Removing intercooler is not complicated. On my old Bimer E46, I had changed a radiator by a workshop previously,no problems. Intercooler removal involves about the same job. These performance workshops are well experienced for the job.

For sure SC will know cos impossible to do complete job without removal.

Wonder why...
Can see the thread, almost botak

Bro is your center wearing off faster? If it is, then a probable cause is over pressure!

When i got the car, i was told by the sales rep that the pressure was 34psi but the manual says otherwise - 36psi! So which is the correct one?  smile.gif
*
Both 34 and 36 are ok. To be correct, tyre pressure depends on load you carry. Check the sticker at the driver side door hinge.

Higher pressure does make a more bumpy ride. 34psi makes a small difference.

Perfect. I've been on 34 - 35psi,since I got the car. Still on 1st set tyres,done 27Kkm. Roughly 35-40% thread left.

oops... re-checked the sticker this morning & it said, for heavy load, it's 25psi front & 30psi rear tyres... now i'm confused!  icon_question.gif
*
It's 2.5/3.6 bar, not psi! Petrol station air pumps will have conversion table.

I actually got a shock after reading your reply. 25psi for this car is really low, which will lead to accelerated wear on inner and outer circle of tire thread.

If u looking for more comfort tyre over performance, u can try Mich Primacy 3 ST. Tunes in between comfort and performance, price cheaper than PS3.
Am using this on my family Honda Odyssey, quite not bad.

Few months ago, P.308 club got group purchase for EBC brake pad, front and rear price around Rm900.
I think few months later they will have another round of group purchase, think i will join them.
*
Ok tks, will try out Mich P 3ST when ready. Pls inform when brake pads order is on,tks!
