Now for your dilemma. 208GTi will certainly be a fun car to drive. However KL/PJ traffic is a killer,I rather take the 408t. But I'm uncle already la. For young man better take the 208GTi.

I am doing factsheet for my company product, technical specifications and compares. Thus, for me, factsheet is only reference and it is only gimme.

I came across the Focus and 408T before I bought my 408T. I would said Focus is more powerful under the 2.0NA category. But cannot compare with 408T turbo charged engine. Ya factsheet says, Focus delivers 200nm, but what is the RPM? Check the factsheet of other 2.0NA engine, and you will see this value is 200 +/- 10nm for 4000rpm. 408T delivers 240nm since 1400 rpm to 4000 rpm. So in fastsheet wise, 408T wins. During my test drive of both, 408T wins too.

I would said both gives similar similarity during high speed cruising. But during low speed (city drive), did you feel the Focus is jerking? I can feel the PowerShift GB is trying to shift up and down during low speed driving, thus it is not smooth. 408T, low speed, it holds low gear, which is jerking, but you still can press your pedal to make it smooth. And the adaptive GB of 408T will become smooth during low speed after learning from you. Mine is 19000km now, and even my friends sitting behind can feel the gear change is silky smooth now, even low speed.

The rear seat and boot size of Focus fails me at the most. I am talking about the sedan Focus, not the hatchback. I am married but yet to have kids, however, for me, i rather to pick the one with bigger space and leg room. Who knows?

The dashboard of Focus comes with many buttons, which I dislike most. I prefer less button, and best thing, a LCD for me to do adjustment when necessary. And I dislike button on my steering, I prefer the French, putting sticks and buttons behind my steering. So I can control everything on my fingertips.

Regarding to your question to gear shift up and down. I owned Vios for 4 yrs before I got my 408T. Vios GB, it wont step down while you step brake during cornering, I got to shift to 3rd gear manually. It only steps down while you are going down hill. This is Toyota design for engine braking. But remember, that is 4-speed GB.

408T comes with 6-speed GB, so I never doubt gear change during my cornering. I step on my gas pedal and it decides for me. Thanks for the harden suspension and 6-speed GB, never fails me in any corners.

BTW, why you step on your brake pedal during cornering? For me, all the time, I hold my gas pedal during cornering, to make sure fast in and fast out.

is same height with normal 408T handling is better since the griffe rim using 18" with michy tires

mayb bcuz of the gap btw tire & fender effect makes u feel its tall

the suspension is as good as the standard turbo 408....but i felt it a little stiffer when i test drove it compare with standard 408T.

This is normal for all cars, no brands are perfect and its ok to have a bit of defect as long as the car remains reliable and efficient and i believe 408 is a considered to be real efficient comparing to other cars in the same segment and the problems we all face is not something big and its all under warranty which you have nothing to worry about.

anyone still think a few defects are life threatening, please put your interest and $$$$ on old proven technology cars from far east please

buying a "proven" reconditioned car is a gamble

and buying a "proven" car from the far east is like paying RM1m for a rumah papan

I have a 408T, my car failed on me this morning. I started up my car, travelled less than 50 meters, felt the car started to loose power and died in the middle of the road when the engine was still running. (could have been tragic). My car is less than 3 months old and mileage is at 2480. I don't know whether it is problem with the batteries. Will check with service centre.

This morning, I'm supposed to send my car for 2500 inspection but this happened. However, I felt the power lost the night before yesterday. When I stepped on the accelerator, the engine did not respond. (Kind of like power loss).

Called the Peugeot care line, the towing panel called me within 15 minutes and told me tow will arrive in 1 hour. 20 minutes later, tow truck driver called me but mentioned that he got delay due to "Ada masalah". It has been 1 hour since my car failed and I have still yet to get to the service centre.

Update: apparently the tow truck that is supposed to get to me aide burst his tyre. (Tow truck needing a tow now).
The towing panel is sending another tow truck over.

1. Very disappointed with Peugeot. (Battery can't even last for 3 months?!) very sickening
2. Tow services could have been better
3. Disappointed. No longer feel proud of driving this car.

When I first get the 408T, I found that the handling is damn good and grip the corner like a lizard, now almost after a year, I start to feel & found out the weak point of the Lion, - pull to the left, harsh ride ( but good in cornering ) can only choose one !!
Some noise here and there as the car is quiet, any rattling sound will be easily notify, wind noise from the window when speed above 110km/h, tyre noise ( tyre already 30 % gone at 16K km, aircon not cool enough in the hot sunny day, audio sound no good, no reverse camera, no GPS.

I still like the car very much, it is about passion. I think this car is a winner amount the 1600cc conti car, it worth every penny I spend on this car, the luxury, the safety, the power, the handling, you see, all cars take you from point A to B..............but , in a difference shape.

I don't agree that the far east car is low in maintenance cost, how about the Rm 2500 cooling coil of the Camry, the RM 3500 alternator, and the nearly RM 4 K steering rack, and RM 1500 front disc, a RM 1500 /pc absorber including installation at Toyota center.Once will have a jaw drop by seeing this and yes, it is my personal experience, so what is the best car to own, the answer will be own a fully maintenance covers company car.

From the above, the 2.0 Camry maintenance cost is not cheap at all, or very near to the luxury conti indeed., and I should mention the forever problems HONDA suspension , you think you can drive a Honda like the 408T  ???

Buy the Lion if you have the passion on it, if you are the type that don't know how to open the front bonnet type, stay away form the Lion.

Maintenance cost is not a big issue so far  touch wood ), most of the Lion here is still new,20KM to 40km range,

but one thing........the gear oil cost almost 3K

outside can get about RM 80.00 / Liter

Waaaaah.....who quoted you this    cuz i asked my SC they said impossible auto fluid can head up to 3k...max 1.3k only. and for a 408T max major service cost around 2.1k
