Hi all,

not sure if this is the right thread to ask about this.

I have an iphone 5 on iOS7, but will be giving it to my sister instead. is there a way to reset well not really reset, clean the data/history for everything? but i still want to keep the apps on the phone so she doesnt have to download everything again?

thanks.

drop 50% for a couple of races in asphalt on a 5s is definately not normal,
i had it on full charge when i got out, got to ktm while whatsapp it was around 97%, played dont step the white tile, reached lrt, played again a few times, then got to class now battery 51%, on my iphone 4 on 7.0.4, if i compare the same usage like this max it will be ~70% same goes to 4s before the update..

Then i guess its not hardware..and there is no fix for it or a word from apple acknowleding a battery drain bug  cry.gif

Asphalt drowns my battery very drastically.
Sometimes I play for about an hour and the battery drops from 100 to 30+%.
I have plenty of screen shots that show usage times as 2 hours + and battery down to 20+ percent.

Either selective back up on iCloud, back up to iTunes the apps, or just delete what you want manually from the phone.

itunes for your apps, i assume your music already from itunes to iphone, and icloud for your notes, contacts etc, if your new phone is also iphone, just do a full backup and restore backup to your new phone so it will be an exact clone of your old one

Yep. All the while been like that.
The phone heats up when I play games. PRetty hot actually but since I use a case it ain't all that bad.
If I don't play games the phone would probably last from morn till night, which I suppose is normal for an iPhone.

IMO iPhone batteries are just terrible. It all depends on usage.
The phone is just not made to handle thorough usage.
Maybe if you just use it to text once awhile, instagram a little, and email a little, you'd pull through a day.

7.1.1 to be rolled out soon

iOS 7.1.1 Update

According to 9to5mac, Apple is gearing up to a bug fix (update) to iOS 7.1 called iOS 7.1.1. The Web site saw countless visits from areas around Apple's campus. Apparently, the devices were running on iOS 7.1.1 as shown in their analytics. In all likelihood, the increase in views indicates the bug fix update will come over-the-air to all Apple devices shortly. The Web site also indicated iOS 8 testing inside Apple has also seen a considerable increase in its analytics.

Here is a list of bugs compiled by CNet, introduced after upgrading to iOS 7.1:

1. Battery Drain Issue

Every time Apple sends out its software update, users are bogged down by perennial battery drain issues and the situation was no different. Many users complained of their sudden reduction in battery life once they updated their device to iOS 7.1.

2. Fingerprint Scanner Malfunction

After upgrading to iOS 7.1, many users complained the Apple's touchID (fingerprint scanner) did not work as expected by not recognizing the users' fingerprint.

3. Disabled Bluetooth And Wi-Fi

Fewer users complained the iOS 7.1 update causing their iPhones to disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity completely. For some users, however, the Bluetooth disconnected sporadically.

4. Bluetooth Pairing (in Cars) And Device Volume Issues

A good bunch of users have complained the iOS 7.1 update has caused Bluetooth connectivity and synchronization problems, especially when using mobile devices in their cars. Upon making a hands-free call, many users realized that the audio is not routed via Bluetooth. Also, iPad volume jammed after upgrading to iOS 7.1.

1. Expect Apple to deliver the update during the week. Apple never releases its iOS updates on the weekends and prefers to unleash its new software during the working week. In other words, iPhone and iPad owners shouldn’t feel the need to check online or check their devices for updates on Saturday and Sunday.

2. Second, Apple typically releases its updates between 9AM and 10:30AM PST. It’s very rare for iOS updates to fall out of that range so if 11AM PST rolls by without an update, it’s safe to stop checking for an update.

3. We fully expect iOS 7.1.1 to be a bug fix update. Nothing more and nothing less. While it’s difficult to say what will be on board the update, we can say that the change log will almost certainly be smaller than the change log that arrived with iOS 7.1. iOS 7.1 a much more stable update than iOS 7.0 and we haven’t noticed a ton of issues plaguing Apple’s iPhones and iPads.

4. That said, there is a very good chance that iOS 7.1 issues will linger after the arrival of iOS 7.1.1. Apple will likely fix most of the glaring bugs but there are always a few that avoid detection. Software updates are almost never perfect.

5. Finally, do not expect there to be an iOS 7.1 jailbreak release tied into the release of iOS 7.1.1. It’s clear that developers aren’t working hard to develop an iOS 7.1 jailbreak for public consumption and have focused their energy on developing one for iOS 8. It would be surprising to see one unleashed when iOS 7.1.1 arrives.

I'm on 7.1 and yet I'm not experiencing any of the bugs compiled by CNet. on the contrary it's better in term of battery usage, TouchID seems more responsive and I don't have any issue related to wifi nor bluetooth at the moment.

I guess, other than the software. these "bugs" which are experienced by users are also caused by the hardware itself. that's why there are differing feedbacks.

I find it kinda unreasonable that on iPhone 5 Black version, the contact theme is in white while the facetime is in black (and looks more sleek).
Why contact also not in black theme?
