My laptop dead recently... Goin to build a rig which can play sc2 on ultra settings... If possible,1080p resolution...

WD Cavier Blue 1TB
H81M-DGS
Corsair 1600 4GB
MSI 7770 1GB

will pass with flying colour.
but i think ultra in sc2 is overkill for the eyes. most will just make it less shiny for long playable time

For Ram why not get 2x4gb since it is so cheap now to make sure ur system is fail proof for other games as well.

not necessary lor, for me medium looks good ady. So far most ppl only play 1vs1, 2vs2 ultra other than that IDK.
Just stick to your current build maybe change your GPU to something more latest.

Can I ask last question?
Found this thread:
http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/7979988938

It said gtx 640 can reach med settings at 1080p,den they suggest 7750 can reach ultra high settings.
In my mind:
Gtx640<7750<7770<7790<7850<gtx650tib
So 7790 shd overkill sc2 at ultra high?

Actually I have ask gpu for sc2 question for at least 2 sites ady,but ppl like suggest at least RM500 gpu like 7850 or 7870... So if I ask after 6 months, answer get from forumer change again, but stil rm500 but newer brand(why dun suggest the 7850/7870 which ady drop price?)...

I know this bcoz I ask this question half year ago, wait the so call decent gpu half year ago to drop price and collect money...

Just a note, SC2 is more dependent on CPU than GPU. Getting a better CPU is better than getting GPU if only dedicated to SC2.

You may wish to take note and research further accordingly.

i gonna be the over confident prick so here it goes as i read too much reviews before i upgraded my system for hots:

7770 is a good bang for money also one of the best budget gaming built card, yes screw gtx650!
When you have the money in future you can always sell it off and get a stronger card, Graphic cards prices are dropping with the R7 series war with Nvidia. So you wont lose much.

If you are only gaming sc2 that only uses dual cores, any i5 is already overkill gaining maybe on the cache level hardly noticeable unless you enjoy loading up first and scream wood pc for the late loader when game starts.

your first built should runs sc2 in ultra 1090p for above 30 fps on 3v3 full orgy with no stuttering at all. If there is one card that will hit the sc2 top but not overkill it this is the card!

(all this assuming you are not going to stream your game on twitch TV and you are running a single monitor and also as 4 Gig Ram goes, i also assuming you are not multitasking a lot of other things behind sc2, yes 4 gig Ram is all you needs to run almost all games in the market now)

have fun

Ya your assumption correct, single monitor n never be eyeinfinity in future. I will change to 8gb ram since I sometime"listen" movie while gaming...

And ya a lot sc player recom 7770,even more 7770 sc2 gameplay on YouTube... But I will stick to 7790 bcoz 30fps is lowest playable fps for me...

Actually goldfries suggest me stick with 7790 n i5 4440,I think 4440 can handle 3v3. But it may not handle 4v4 well,so I turn to 4670...(sometime I play with frens)

Do u think 4670 with 3.4ghz can have playable fps?

-.-
stick to your budget and just buy it, every little cents throw in a pc will always make it better be it playing old or new games.

thumb rule building a GAMING pc is always to squeeze as much as possible at the graphic card and minimum for the rest.

later on when u starts to have more money, get a good monitor and SSD.
further down the road get mech keyboard and better mouse or headset. <--this is poison
