Hey guys! So i'm wondering about this topic, V twin engine vs Inline 4. Now i'm just a rookie who really wanna know more about bikes. And i was wondering about the comparison of this two type engine. I know there's a lot of veteran-well-experience riders out there thumbup.gif Hope you guys kind enough to drop off some knowledge on said topic biggrin.gif

in term to horse power and torque should go to europe...
but for handling and stabilizer go to japan...
not to mention part and service also go to japan cause easy to get...
for me inline 4 is the best sound...:-)

Izzit true that v twin have more torque at lower rpm? Thus no HP at higher rpm.

Depends on your preferences and purpose.

Some pick inline 4 because of it's exhaust sound.

i thought the difference between the 2 normally is i4 gains a lot of torque all the sudden after a certain RPM where as v-twin is mostly gradual?

you're a rookie, focus more on motorcycle safety first =P

My vote go to v twin. I used to own a couple of them. 4 inline in between. V twin power seem easy to control. Better traction.. easier for rookie. Btw the sound don't reflect the speed.

my 2 cent ,

v-twin - moar torque at lower rev , every single gear got power , a bit wild when ride it , cornering oso poweh , the sound kasar , garang and nomnomnom.

*ducati dry clutch + vtwin sound FTW!

inline-4 - moar hp , good at straight way, smooth throttle controlling , high rpm poweh, the sound smooth , merdu and hnnnnghhhhh! .

Vtwin for that punchy low end torque. Huge engine braking.

I4 meanwhile has higher rev range for same amount of torque comparing to vtwin. And more hp too.
