QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Feb 28 2014, 07:11 PM) Actually the only issue with rinseless liquid is streaking. Managed to get a sample of D114, been using it at 1:32, cleans well, but strips my D156 spray wax. So I decided to...But krismas told me this : Meguairs D114 Would love to try it, but not sure if locally available. If you find the video in youtube, they actually have it in spray bottle. But they didn't mentioned anything on the dilution ratio. QUOTE(GRexer @ Feb 28 2014, 07:17 PM) I think the one in spray bottle is the other one, the Meguiar's D115 Rinse Free Express Wash & Wax, but, I could be wrong. Though, both D114 and D115 is not available locally thru the distributor. They only imported a very small limited batch for test run. I guess, they don't see the point of rinseless washes in Malaysia where water is cheap. ...put in an order of D115, which is at customs now waiting for clearance. Just in time for water rationing LOL. If water becomes a bigger problem here maybe Hypercoat will bring it in one day. Shipping was almost as expensive as the products though... P/S: Also ordered a gallon of D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream (AIO) which I won't be able to finish so if anybody wants to share some let me know. |

QUOTE(GRexer @ Feb 28 2014, 08:54 PM) Why order the D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream from overseas when it can be bought locally? Well, unless it's considerably cheaper only would it be worth the effort IMO. On Autogeek it was 37USD, over here it's >RM300? So including shipping i still saved at least RM70, assuming no tax. The D151 was an impulse thing, since i already decided to get the D115 - which i estimated would be RM600 if Hypercoat brought it in!QUOTE(scoutfai @ Feb 28 2014, 09:06 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « May I know are you straight purchase from USA? You have mentioned shipping cost is as expensive as product. Did you use the shipment service provided by the seller/shop or you acquire a 3rd party freight forwarder to do it (heard that it is cheaper but disadvantage is need to wait as they collect bulk quantity to ship at once). Btw, did you get tax and how much? QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 28 2014, 09:20 PM) I do think that dilution is too strong. I use 1:50 for cleaning up/stripping polishing oil and 1:100 for normal cleaning ( in spray bottle). Oops sorry i meant 1:128, not sober enough to remember numbers |

QUOTE(TamiyaOne @ Apr 13 2014, 10:53 PM) where to get meguiers D115 ? would like to get some due to water rotation Yeap,RM400 is slightly less than what i paid to ship a gallon of D115 from US to here, just got it last month in fact. Really love it, much sleeker and feels safer to use than D114. I don't mind sharing 1 or 2 litres, at cost. PM if needed. |

QUOTE(scoutfai @ Jul 22 2014, 08:00 AM) I also have this one, bought from Singapore. This thing got 3 sizes, I have the big and small. Going to buy the middle one from Taobao China soon. Looks like a set of 3 costs RM190 from TaoBao!This brush is very decent and suitable for spoke wheel already in my opinion. If it is not working well to you, then you probably can try wheel woolies. ![]() Edit : Ah, i misunderstood. You have the red one. Anyways, Wheel Woolies seem to be really expensive. QUOTE(vmteo @ Jul 31 2014, 11:11 PM) hey guys, anyone using foam lance here? I have the same attachment as you. I've only used it twice, with very disappointing results. It is not as well built as other foam lance attachments, just do a youtube search for foam lance and karcher foam lance, you will see a very big difference. Others get snow, Karcher gets melting snow, if you get my drift...i bought a karcher foam lance 0.6L, but i couldn't generate thick foaming. is it i use the wrong shampoo or the foam lance is not good quality? im using meguairs wash and wax (yellow liquid) any recommend shampoo suitable for karcher foam lance? is good with attached some video for reference. Also, based on my previous searches, Megs Ultimate Wash and Wax doesn't create as much foam as other shampoos. Try using very hot water when you mix the soap solution, dont shake before you close the top, and don't shake too hard because it freaking leaks! And lastly, play around with the dilution. I gave up after realising i use 5X the amount of soap with the foam lance vs normal 2 bucket method. Maybe when my kid is older i'll bring it out and have a snow party... or a melting snow party. |

QUOTE(g88 @ Aug 1 2014, 05:04 PM) not that i know of where karcher make foam lance. Yea, Karcher's one looks nothing like that. Anyhow, IMHO the added lubricity from the foam is not significant enough to justify a lance purchase and time needed to setup. I found that in our weather i had to foam, wash and rinse section by section to prevent the soap from drying up. Or maybe i've got slow hands A true or good foam lance look like this , expecting around Rm3xx. Don't try the one from china where my friend bought almost half of the price...after use two time...it went dead. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 1 2014, 06:12 PM) not really lol. This reminds me of a post on autoworld.com.my a while back where one of the sifu here showed his collection of products neatly arranged in a cabinet that was packed to the brim! Wonder whether can still find that post...just wanting to try out different products, trial and error etc. and the thing with detailing, the products you use are so minimal, you'll end up with something like this: |

QUOTE(scoutfai @ Aug 1 2014, 11:28 PM) LazyJin Forgotten to ask you so long. Last time your purchase of Meguiar's stuff from USA eventually got tax or not? The last update from you was it was detained at custom at KLIA. Cleared customs, no issue, but Parcel was damaged due to mishandling and insufficient packing. Lost 1 gal of spray wax because the bottle cracked.Lodged a complaint, hope to get compensated. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(efaceninja @ Aug 6 2014, 05:29 PM) if i get D156 as well, will plan to spray it once a month. but D156 also seems more expensive than D155. and not sure if can be used with 1:1 dilution as well haha. D156 is meant to be used on a clean surface - no dust / dirt - and will leave a hydrophobic layer of protection, while D155 is meant to clean light dust / dirt. They serve different purposes and shouldn't be compared? |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 7 2014, 10:53 AM) And here's my suggestion. If you were to start with one product, I would suggest you get the D156 first. Very rarely that you would need to do a round of QD after a good wash unless there's something wrong with your washing. And also a QD won't be able to do much on the appearance side. D156 would be more suited and meaningful to use after a wash, to top up the protection and amp up the gloss. To tell you the truth, before I have the glass coat on my ride(s), I use to top up with one form of spray wax or another *almost* after every wash +1 on all counts. I use Megs D156 on my 2 daily drivers almost weekly, finished a gallon in about a year lol. But some of that was down to poor technique of course (read : Applying UQW ). An equivalent to D156 would be Duragloss #951.And do consider using Optimum No Rinse or DG Rinseless Wash (these two are locally available) if you decide to do those 'in-between wash' cleaning instead of using a QD. They cleans better and *maybe* safer as these were meant to be use as a light wash instead of just for *light* clean up. QUOTE(thom_chai @ Aug 7 2014, 11:27 AM) Would ONR makes a good quick detailer as well? Let's say I'm halfway polishing the car at night and would like to continue tomorrow. Dust would accumulate on the paint and I dun like the idea of pulling the car out and wash and dry it again. Optimum does list 1:16 dilution as QD, 1:64 as clay lube, here : ONR: The Definitive Guide Have only tried D114 which works well.Would ONR diluted to QD ratio be ideal for mist and wiping the painted surface? Meguiars recommends to use on a dry surface, to prevent further dilution of product, saw it on the Megs forums somewhere. If you're worried that the car is too dirty, skip the D115 and do a 2 bucket wash? But honestly the D115 can be used on rather dirty cars, just use it wet by spraying more product and use lots of towels. |

Just wanna share some stuff i got from The Rag Company. Decided to try it after watching Junkman's Microfiber Video.
Had to use a US forwarder as they don't deliver here, came up to just under RM30 per towel. Not cheap, but thought i'd check what the fuss was all about, for fun. The towels are going through a first wash now, can't wait to try em this weekend. Here they are from left to right : White waffle weaves, Glass towel, White plush towels, Blue Edgeless towels, . ![]() White waffle weaves - drying, glass, house windows ![]() Blue Edgeless towels - spray wax, removing wax ![]() White plush towels - planned to use for waterless washes but not sure yet ![]() Glass towel - This was free ![]() This post has been edited by LazyJin: Aug 26 2014, 09:48 PM |
