Yeap. But I am not exactly sure OSREN's glass polish powder size in term of ml. Just know it's RM100/bottle.This post has been edited by windskill: Feb 7 2014, 10:34 AM

QUOTE(scoutfai @ Feb 7 2014, 11:10 AM) The absence of water beading to naked eyes is not a necessary implication that the wax is no longer exist on the paint surface. It is however a sign that the wax has either getting thinner, deteriorated or contaminated by foreign substances (such as dirt) on its surface due to common wear over time. Lol, I agree with your last statement Meguiar's recommends performing "Squeak Test" to test presence of wax on the paint surface. Squeak Test You do not necessary believe in Meguiar's method though. Do a comparison feeling by yourself. Usually one will not wax the interior paint surface, like the paint surface around door. Touch this surface, rub it a bit, you will hear a squeak sound, indication of 100% clean surface, just like the sound in dish detergent commercial in tv, where the housewife move the finger from tip to tip on the clean dish and the recognizable "clean" sound produced. Same goes to paint surface. If it is 100% clean (no wax), you hear this sound as well easily. If you do not hear this sound after you wash your car, chances are your car still has the wax on this particular area. But it makes no harm to wax again. Every one here is overkill LOL. And I am one of them too haha. |

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Feb 7 2014, 11:21 AM) OH! So it's a sealant then? I know we can substitute sealant as wax because both of them actually does pretty much the same thing. I've seen my detailer applied the SGCB Coating Wax (paste form). Few seconds after application, a white layer appears and he just wipes it off with a microfiber cloth. It seemed easy i intend to try it myself from now on otherwise, they are going to charge me at least RM100.00 for one session (car wash, polish (if required) and then the sealant). (Out of topic) I think the effect of SGCB coating wax looks appealing to me. Just not sure about its durability. This thing retails at RM69 only and i am sure i can apply it for more than one time I'll most probably omit the topper because i am not familiar with it T_T The Meguiar's #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 seemed liquid in form. Do they have anything similar but in paste form or is liquid form superior to that of a paste form? Haha, actually it's not that complicated. Just a spray wax. Provide a quicker way to wax only. Also, to top-up wax on the current paint surface. |

Last weekend I was helping my friend to polish his BMW using DA. Initially, I was using the least aggressive pad that I have(LC black pad) with Ultimate Polish. Doesn't work. Follow by white pad, fail too.
At the end, resort to orange pad with M101. Most of the swirl marks are removed, but minor scratches are still not able to be removed. Hand almost broke lol...seems like BMW is having a very tough clearcoat...anyone experiences this before? |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 17 2014, 09:16 AM) Have you tried going over the effected area again with BSD? Or normal shampoo wash? That should be able to remove or at least reduce the hazing. If not then I could be wrong and it's something else instead. Hmm no wonder. Even rotary also takes quite some time to remove the swirl marks. BMW really has a tough clearcoat BMW's paint is quite hard. Had a few experience with them previously. It took a wool pad with M105 and quite a few passes to remove some minor swirl marks on a Z4. And I was unable to remove 3000 grit sanding marks with a polishing pad and M101 on an E35. Mind you I'm talking about using a rotary here....I can only imagine how it would be with a DA QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Feb 17 2014, 10:03 AM) i tried going over the area with the BSD again but the whitish haze persisted. I didn't shampoo washed it again because it was the driver's door panel area only (which is the obvious part) and i have already applied BSD on the rest of the car. Not really in the mood to wipe dry the entire car as it was already almost 1am @@ How soft it is? Just wondering haha.Yeah, BMW's paint is hard. I can verified that. This was confirmed by the SA from the BMW Service Centre but not sure if it's only on the new models though, my dad's is the F10. Honda City has one of the softest paint in the market. Crazy stuff. Need some help here. Just now I was using 3M microfine sanding sponge along with glass abrasive polish powder to remove watermarks on my car's windscreen (using light pressure). Prior to the sanding, glass prep such as washing and claying have been done.
It ended up with some minor scratches and marring.... Was searching online and found that CQuartz Ceriglass, which contains cerium oxide, is able to remove mild to medium scratches on glass. Does anyone use this before? Appreciate your help This post has been edited by windskill: Feb 18 2014, 01:38 AM |

QUOTE(barjoyai @ Feb 18 2014, 12:29 AM) hi all, interested in meguiars range of products but too many option to choose.not sure which is suitable for me. Meguiar's Brilliant Solutions New Car Kit (contains liquid wax, wash & wax, wash mitt, microfiber towel, endurance tire gel, pad) should be sufficient to get you started. Quick and easy, one-stop solution. The drawback is the price, IMO.very newbie here, just bought a new car, silver color. which products should i go for? can give some suggestion? i'm looking for the meguiar new car kit, looks simple. anything should i add? not going into detailing stuff yet, just want to wash and clean, shine my new baby for now hope can get some suggestion from all sifus here, thanks Anything to add on? Well, probably you need a cleaner wax later on, but not so soon since your car is still new. Enjoy your new ride |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 18 2014, 09:20 AM) The 'glass abrasive polish power'...did you get that from Osren also? If so, then it contains cerium oxide too. If you have a machine/DA, get yourself a felt pad and pair that with the glass abrasive polish and try. If you don't, Osren also has the felt 'block', use that instead. Should be able to remove the micro scratches if they're not too deep. If too deep then you'd need a rotary with the felt pad. Yea I got the glass abrasive powder from Osren. Hmm, it contains cerium oxide too?So, is felt pad = glass polishing pad? Does it look something like this-> http://www.autogeek.net/glass-polishing-pad-5inch.html |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 18 2014, 10:24 AM) I think I remembered Hendry told me that it's basically cerium oxide in a mixed powdered form.... Yeap, following the procedure ad instructions. I think, it might be the 3M microfine sponge pad is too abrasive for windscreen. I searched online after that and found that ppl said sanding using that will leave some scratches >.<Yeah....the felt pads looks something like that.... Err...you did get instructions on how to use it right? Like mixing it with water into paste-like and using it wet/damp and never let it dry when working with it. Oh....did it happen to the front windscreen or the other glasses? Cuz the laminated glass on front windscreen are normally relatively softer than the tempered glass on other windows so you'd need to be more careful with the front windscreen. |
