Went over to the Sonax HQ earlier today and got myself the Brilliant Shine Detailer. Met up with the owner, Rizal's the name i think. Friendly chap and knows all the products inside out. Fortunately when i went, there was another guy there with his Citroen who purchased a whole bag of stuffs, so Rizal actually demonstrated how to use the Brilliant Shine Detailer.

Also bought the rim cleaner, wanted to buy the Xtreme Wax but maybe sometime later.

Got a free stuff too, the clear view 1:100 thing. Supposedly to be poured into the windscreen washer container.

Yeah, down to earth seems about just right. He personally demonstrated how the product works and doesn't really care he was drenched in his own sweat. Great PR skills, i'd say.

They have the rim cleaner set but i only bought the cleaner only but not the coating. Don't think i'd require it.

Talking about early, i saw from their facebook page that they are open from 9am - 5pm. I headed over to Glenmarie at 9:15am only to realized no one was there, called Reza and then he told me to drop by at about 1100am T____T luckily i lived nearby otherwise .....

To make apples to apples comparison, your lighting, exposure and everything else needs to be the same for both pics. Usually, manual mode is used to capture to ensure you fix the metering and not let the camera decide. You mentioned the EXIF is intact but I cannot see it.

Anyway, the first pic looks like the black car was metered and therefore the camera "thinks" it's dark and tends to brighten the pic. That is why your black car colour is a little washed out. You can see also that the whites on the bright fluorescent lamp on your garage and your neighbours are washed out and it's not in the 2nd pic.

Take some -ev exposure compensation on your 1st pic and you'll see it matches your 2nd. 

Having said that, it would be better if you had taken the pic out in the sun. Some may call it placebo effect, but I don't doubt your observation and that it does make dark coloured cars darker. Most importantly after the hard work put in, the end result is the owner feels satisfied.

2. Meg's wheel brightner and degreaser will kill your normal nozzle spray. You need to use a chemical resistant nozzle spray.

With the wheel brightener, i found that you'd need to 'rinse' the internals of the sprayer using plain water after use & before storage. There's some sort of residue that would dry up and clump the sprayer nozzle & piston. For wheel brightener, of all the yeats i'm using it, i only had one quit on me.

The very reason why I AM and WILL ALWAYS BE on distilled water in the windscreen washer water reservoir. Even tap water would also cause those. Btw, better check your car roof too.....
