Might need to reinstall the Litecoin QT at worse.

Definitely have to sync because the QT wallet needs the whole blockchain
up to date on your PC before you can send or receive coins.

You can try other lightweight wallets that don't require syncing. I'm not
familiar with LTC, but for BTC you have light options like Multibit, and less
secure online wallets like blockchain.info, coinbase

If you decide to move on to other wallets, you'll need to fix your current
wallet so you can send out your coins or export your privkeys to be used
in the new wallet system.

for multipool, from my experience they get you much better btc/day usually compared to only mining ltc
i've tried 2-3, best is still middlecoin, very stable. last week was abit lower though, they had some problem
profit will fluctuate daily but overall still better than ltc only
