2. 22/06 - Received the goods with the DVDRW without a box package via registered post.
2.1 - Test the burner.
2.2 - Wasted 4 DVDR.
2.3 - Not working on reading normal non-burn CD and DVD. Device able to detect.
2.4 - Download the software from pioneer website but not workable as well.

3. 23/06 - SMS and PM the seller. No reply. He was log in to LYN but ignored my message.

4. 23/06 - Replied my SMS after saw my post on http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=303926&hl=

5. 23/06 - Going to his house in USJ 5. Talked to his mom and take some photo.

6. 08/07 - Received the postal receipt from the scammer. Tried to claimed on PC Zone as it is already past warranty. Therefore not able to claim for warranty.

Probably he knew the drive was faulty already, so did not bother to pack it in proper way.

So what did his mom say?

1st of all, whether the DVD Writer's faulty b4 delivery can lead to 2 conclusions.
i) if faulty, meaning seller's unethical. he just want to find a water fish (cos need to perform warranty claim)
ii) if not, then the seller's at fault for not wrapping & protecting the item properly. anyway, many ppl take it for granted. and that's one of the reason why there're so many disputes.

But to Espionage, don't you think it's too extreme to post pictures of his house on the web? At least at this stage?

i got mine from him this afternoon... abit late since he's using posdaftar.
tested it (with CD-RW and play some DVD movie, DVD-R/W no more at home), in working conditional, outlook is pretty new.

PM adamleong, he also bought from the same person.
anyway, yesterday he told me that DVD drive is in working conditional as well (just packing abit lousy... lol)

another buyer for this DVDRW is vikingw2k.
try to get him here...

On my statement. I did call him but he refuse to pick up. Switch off handphone is his plan to avoid me. PM him in LYN. Even though he is online but he is ignored my pm. I dont really know what he is up to. Even he is busy, he is still can reply me. But he choosen ignorance which make so many trouble for me. Going to his house is one of the trouble.

I will report to USJ police station and let the force to arrange with him.

1. no refunds for 2nd hand item? did you specify that in your thread? if you did not then it's not proper that you suddenly implement it in view of the situation

2. since your item was sold faulty, it would be proper that you offer him your assistance in claiming a new one.

3. if would be even better if you take back the item and refund. the faulty unit for claim balbal is your problem, cos when people buy from you they expected it to be in proper working condition.

you can bring the dvdrw to pczone as it has a sticker before 7/7/06 to claim warranty.

i have sold all the other 6 dvdrw same model to others and they are all ok and happy and have delivered to them.i am not a scammer !

Bring the drive to pczone and claim warranty yourself. Why must the buyer bear with all these inconvenience when the thing become faulty withing the PW period.

i think not worth for u, the police will invite u go to police station to drink coffee and record down as their report to future reference, if anythings similiar case happened, they will find u drink coffee again... and buyers can find u anytime since ur location is verified by Espionage...

adam, make sure ur device can burn 100%. my one 1st can read, then i try to burn cd, it burn about 35% and jam. after that cant read and cant burn. pls test with burn dvd with 100% of usage on the media to confirm. That seller is a lousy low class people

It is purely idiotic that the seller wrapped up the DVD writer in paper. Even if the DVD writer was OK before delivery, it will surely be damaged during delivery.

No. He is not conman. He is just an irresponsible seller. He just want to sell whatever items he have without giving proper follow up. You were lucky that the fridge he sold is in good working condition. Therefore you have no problems and no need him to followup the sales.

Bear in mind that not all people are born conman. When somebody is being called a conman, doesn't means everything they do is con job. Doesn't means what they did previously is not con and they won't con people later. Most of the so called "conman" here are mislabelled and should be more accurately described as irresponsible seller. It's out of convenience sake that they fail to follow up to their sales.

Most of the time, their attitude and the way they deal with you is one indication on what kind of person he/she is. Buyer just need to beware and take note before trading with anyone.

Don't need to back him up la. Irresponsible = Get money the illegal way = conman.
