Dear antt00,

First of all thank you for all the initiative taken for Lowyat Note 3 community.

I'm currently running on N9005XXUDMJ7 which I found to be battery consuming compared to the earlier version. I intend to update to N9005XXUDML2 based on the review given by the forumers.

Based on my readings on the first page.
1. I have downloaded N9005XXUDML2_URDLV.tar.zip.

My Question Now is:-
1. I should just ignore step 4 as stated below as I have downloaded the patched firmware, am i correct?
2. I cant find the AP version in post 2 here, can you please guide me? And again, sorry to ask a noob question, what is meant by AP? as I normally insert the .tar file to PDA on PC ODIN.
QUOTE
Rooting Instructions
1. Remove the external sdcard (if you have one)
2. Boot into bootloader mode (see methods above)
3. Load the correct AP file into the AP slot in Odin (find your AP version in post #2)
4. Load the correct CSC file into the CSC slot in Odin (find your CSC version in post #2)
5. Click start in Odin, wait for it to fully flash
6. Let your device fully boot after flashing has completed
7. Copy the contents of Root_de_la_Vega.zip to the root of the internal storage

    /My Computer/[Phone Name]/Phone/
        root_de_la_vega.sh
        root_files (folder)

8. Reboot (very important!)
9. After fully booting delete the files from the internal storage that were added previously

    /My Computer/[Phone Name]/Phone/
        root_de_la_vega.sh
        root_files (folder)

10. Reboot (extremely important!)
Reinsert the external sdcard (if you have one)
3. The next step would be to unzip the downloaded patch firmware, Open PC Odin, insert .tar to PDA and click start.
4.There is 2 RDLV patch
a. https://mega.co.nz/#!E9Q0RSSK!Pd-H9...cFkrwhgsV77DEkM Size 2.2mb
b. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1uadwt4sfpbz8qf/R..._de_la_Vega.zip Size 1.45mb
Which is suitable for ML2?

5. Then I should unzip the suitable RDLV files and follow the instructions from No. 7 to No. 10 above
6. Finish

Hope you can assist to clarify the queries above before I could proceed to flash with N9005XXUDML2_URDLV.tar.zip file.

Dear rahuldave

Pertaining to your query.
1) Yes ignore this step #4 only if you are using the ML2 I provided.
2) We are using Odin v3.09 where there is no longer a PDA slot. It has been replaced by an AP slot. Load the N9005XXUDML2_URDLV.tar.md5 into this slot.
3) Yes like the above the AP slot. Please use odin version 3.09.
4) There is only ever existed 1 type of RDLV files. The first link have it. The second link is also the same files + MJ1 patched rom which is why it is alot bigger. They are the same, but normal people will download the smaller size one.
5) Yes
6) Completed. Finish can be defined as your device is finished = kaput.

Also just to reconfirm that you are still having MJ1 bootloader and had not upgraded to MJ7 rom through Kies, OTA or PC Odin. If you had upgraded to MJ7 using these steps, rooting will trip your knox as there is no way to root a MJ7 bootloader without tripping knox.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
antt00

Thanks for the confirmation but unfortunately i'm on MJ7 Rom. So basically I can't flash N9005XXUDML2_URDLV.tar.md5 as it will trip knox?

You can just skip to the Singapore stock rom ml2 without root and see. Have you try factory reset?
*
Hi
I have not tried to factory reset as I dont have any problem with the phone accept for the battery draining issue since I update to MJ7. In the meantime, good to hear that I can update to stock ML2.

Is the procedure still the same whereby I download the stock ML2 without root, restart in download mode, open PC Odin and select ML2 in AP and flash?

Get a PISEN USB power adapter from ebay or garage sales. It cost rm12 only. This will boost your PC usb port charging output

Benny, did you mean by thisPisen USB Power adapter?

Hi antt00

Based on you previous reply, I have updated to stock ML2 from MJ7 with knox still 0x0.
Should I need to root my device, can I downgrade back to stock MJ1, followed by flashing the N9005XXUDML2_URDLV.tar and I should get the root access?

Hi Benny

The description says it work with a few version of the Tab and increase amp from 1 amp to 2.1.
Will it boost the charging speed if we use it with our original 2.0A Note 3 charger? smile.gif
