it depends on the build quality of the transformer, im using a 300w step down so far no humming sound, it does gets warm after a long period of using 5-6 hours maybe? bought mine from some local uncle electrical shop tongue.gif (RM165)

Is a 200w step down transformer really bulky and make noisy sound? Considering buying an US set but afraid about the power adapter problem.

ok...thanks for the info.
Bulky is one of my biggest concern as my tv console has very limited space.

bought my stepdown transformer 500 watt at local (penang) hardware shop for RM 164.00.

brand EKK, made in malaysia, no noise at all, warm little bit but not as hot as the xbox one power supply.
dimension 18 cm x 15 cm x 8 cm.

no, you don't need another transformer...2000 watt is good.

Xbox only need 200-300watt, 2000watt is overkill. You're not running 10 Xboxes at a time don't you?

your receiver (tv or amplifier) support DTS or Dolby? also, Dolby 5.1 and Dolby Ex (7.1) is different, same case for DTS.

can just use your 2000w stepdown transformer, thats the max power rated, not your actual usage. if you still want to buy, just look for electronic shop. Danga Bay mall shop might have it

my receiver does support dolby 5.1 and dts as tested with ps3 blu-ray movie and games that have dolby( metal gear solid 4).

i do know that xbox one does not support surround via optical at launch(surround via hdmi only) but i thought its already patched?

seems like it's not yet patched for dolby. but according to MS it still can output DTS through optical.

another way to get dolby is if your tv support optical out. then you can connect the optical cable from tv to receiver.
