I am heartbroken.

Was on Dr. Ketan's 4.3 earlier, tried to go back to stock 4.1.2.

- Accidentally erase everything in internal SD (my bad)
- This means I lost my EFS backup as well.

So now I'm on stock 4.1.2, without IMEI and without mobile signal (no baseband).

Tried flashing 'modem.tar.md5' - Didn't work.

a price to pay for being careless...

which stock 4.1.2 are you using now?

Learned my lesson ;( (Although I actually that type who backup a lot, only this time don't know lah what happened)

I'm on Malaysia stock N7100XXDMF2_N7100OLBDMD2_XME (June 2013 update).

By my logical thinking, is it possible if I download & flash older stock ROM, then upgrade to the latest one afterwards? Can the older stock ROM repair my IMEI, EFS & modem?

you might... try the older one...

Due to my very snaily internet connection I tried looking for alternatives instead of downloading the whole 1GB++ ROM.

Turned out there was one.

Root -> Flash CWM -> Flash old modem -> Install busybox -> Install GSII_Repair app -> Repair EFS folder.

Now IMEI & mobile signal is back. rclxm9.gif

Maybe the EFS was only corrupted and there was a BAK backup file hidden somewhere inside(?).

Anyway glad this is solved, thanks for the responses. Perhaps anyone who's facing the same prob can try also.

Just downloaded the official XME 4.3 (with KNOX) from SAMmobile just now.

Was about to flash before I read some people in XDA stated if use ODIN to flash even the official one can trigger KNOX to 0x1.

Anyone here tested flashing the ROM from SAMmobile via PC Odin to confirm this?

What are you on right now? If you're hesitant to flash the official release due to Knoxy, why not use the Knox-free release that someone posted a page back? Either that or use OTA or use Kies to update the thing.

I've been off official releases for a LONG time so I really don't know if Odin-flashing the official MJ3 would trip the Knox counter or not, but IINM it might just.

Just got back to official XME 4.1.2 from Dr. Ketan's 4.3.

I think I'm gonna skip custom ROMs for a while, as I need rock-solid & reliable system for daily usage. Most custom ROMs still got random freeze & FC. (May vary for diff users)

As for Knox, I am very confident the guys in XDA will overcome this. They always have, damn good cookers.

OTA always checking for update but no prompt for one, I gave up KIES long time ago.

Itchy to flash this right away. I think got nothing to lose anyway hahaha.

No need stock rom. Try ARHD as per Eiraku and Chuahcs79 recommendation. Its really stock but really smooth.

All the sifus said about how we should just factory reset after 4.3; for me it's true. It works. (Official 4.3 here)

Perhaps nothing to explain on paper but after backing up all the data & did factory reset & restore the backup, everything works better even the battery life.

I think it's not placebo, just try it, nothing to lose.

Guys,

i taught this 4.3 will be solve my issue (not registered on the network/lost IMEI), but not..  cry.gif

N7100XXUEML3_N7100OLBEML1_XME --> not solve
N7100XXDMF2_N7100OLBDMD2_XME --> not registered on the network/lost IMEI
N7100XXDMC3_N7100OLBDMD1_XME --> No issue (Original IMEI)

Anyone have the same problem as me?

Previously I've faced this issue, and managed to solve it (Refer to my previous post in this thread)

But...

That was before I flashed the official 4.3 with Knox. I only used Dr Ketan's 4.3.

If you have flashed the official stock 4.3 with Knox, not sure the proper solution. Maybe some people in XDA solved it?

Hey bro u restored with a backup that u made after u already updated to 4.3 or u use a backup before the 4.3 update?
*
After 4.3, but no problem also if use the one(s) before 4.3. Can use external apps like EaseBackup or MyBackupPro for backing up apps and personal data (SMS, call log etc)

Before this i had tried any single methods that has inside here and XDA forum (EFS backup and restore method, flashed different firmware, flashed custom rom), but none of it successful. I still failed to retrieve my IMEI (lost IMEI 0049XXXX) or get my network ('not registered on the network' issue) working. The only way is, use older firmware which is XXDMC3 (4.1.2) and below (by doing this i have no issue with IMEI or network, everything is normal).

Then here it came, the 4.3 XXUEML3 pop up on my device (OTA), i am so happy that day and straight away perform an update and was hoping with this new firmware/update can help solve my problem. BUT, again my IMEI lost and cannot make a call and this time is worst, with this new samsung KNOX security, it won't allow my note 2 to downgrade to the older version and block ODIN (encounter error while flashing). It even triggered my device KNOX WARRANTY VOID to '1'. Hell yeahh. Hahaha.  mad.gif

So i was stuck with the latest 4.3 firmware with IMEI broken hence cannot receive or make any call.  vmad.gif

Now this is good part. What did I do?

1. Flash custom recovery on my Note 2 (4.3) via ODIN.
2. Search for a XXDMC3 based custom ROM @ XDA and managed to flash the ROM via recovery mode and able to get back my original IMEI and phone work as normal (rooted).  laugh.gif
3. Reset custom binary download to zero/No ('KNOX WARRANTY VOID : 1' remained).
4. Flashed back to 4.3 XXUEML3 (with broken/lost IMEI).
5. Today went to Samsung service center @ Wisma Bently to claim for warranty. Tell the samsung staff/technician the whole story (except the rooting/custom flash part  whistling.gif ). And tell them that my knox triggered due trying to downgrade to the older firmware since i have broken IMEI with the latest samsung 4.3.
6. They open a case number for me and ask me to wait for a while. After 30min, my phone is ready. I have back my original IMEI with the latest 4.3 firmware.  rclxm9.gif

I did asked the technician what is the problem. He said my device's modem having a problem to read the latest firmware hence make the IMEI lost but it is only a software related issue.  sweat.gif

Btw, i am so glad that my problem solved and have a chance to taste the Kit Kat sooner or later on my note 2 (if any laa  hmm.gif ) For your guys info, my warranty will be ended @ 5th Jan 2014, just around the corner bro, fiiuuhhhh  blush.gif

Whoa, good job! This is a good story, can be kept as a reference. I'd be a little hesitant to send to SC if that happens but good to know they're okay with it. Thanks for sharing thumbup.gif

No problem. Me too, at first decided want to layan 4.1.2 only until forever.  laugh.gif  but since my warranty will ended soon (2days from now), so why not gamble away and give a try.  rolleyes.gif

But the technician did check the custom binary count via download mode..huhuhu..in front of me.. sweat.gif
*
Awkwaaaard....hahaha! Good that the technician is not a fuzzy one, in fact actually no harm or even costly to repair a software problem is it wink.gif

For me 4.3 is a good update. No wonder it took Sammy so long to roll out.

MY long charging problem is here again. Took me 8 hours to charge 60%.

I am not sure whether its the charger problem. Any idea where can I get a replacement charger or maybe just the cable? Already out of warranty.

Install Galaxy Charging Current app, and monitor mAH when charging. Sometimes when plugged in only 100-200, unplug & plug again until you get more than 500, then leave it to charge.
