Try before buying. Run those benchmark apps then you'll identify it easily. Who knows you might know the answer before running benchmarks as your friend might not allow you to do so as it will straight away "kantoi" him.
*
Nowadays, Samsung clone benchmark result can be spoof into the real original SME Samsung device benchmark result. Ask Mr Google or Sir Yahoo about that matter. But you can try it, no restriction here.

First read here (for Note 2, but others also can use that methods): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003738

By the way, Note 3 had KNOX security suite, wasn't it ? You can check the KNOX, clone phones do not have KNOX although they are 98.99 % identical.

Read here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2605951

Sorry for my jumble English.

Another way is, try to enter only Note 3-enable codes / only Samsung-device- enable codes. If your friend Note 3 is a China/Taiwan/Korea clone, then the codes can't be enter.

eh, after flash to 4.3, my auto rotate screen not working. stuck at normal potrait view. anyone experience this?

How's it going? Auto rotate already working ah ?

I use these methods on my Vido N70-S and it POOF!! it work.
Try this way :
1. Turn it on and turn it off many times in the Settings. Play with it until the auto rotate start to work.
2. If still cannot, try to calibrate your Note 2.Then,repeat Step 1.
3. If both method fail, rotate your device and switch on and off the auto rotate function one by one. Try to calibrate again.

Better to buy the newer Note 3 NEO than Note 2 ?
Price almost the same.

TQ

Note 2 over Note 3 neo

Note 2 has FM radio but Note 3 Neo didn't.
Note 2 support all video and sound formats but Note 3 Neo didn't.
Can get for lower price.
KitKat update confirmed.

Note 3 Neo over Note 2

Note 3 Neo has Note 3 features and improved S-pen
Note 3 Neo is lighter and a bit shorter than Note 2 but maintain the 5.5 inch display.
Note 3 Neo had IR port ( I doubt you will use that anyway )
Powered by new Exynos 5260 hexa-core proccessor ( Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 & dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15 )
Running on non-buggy android 4.3
Wikipedia state it use Gorilla 3 glass ( Don't know true or not, buy one and test yourself, will ya ? thumbup.gif )
Has faux-leather at the back cover

Personally, I would want the IR port, it is very useful feature as a universal remote controller.  cool2.gif
I used to enjoy it during the pda-phone era... for my tv, aircond, fan, etc
Especially aircond with vast brands and models, and impressed lots of chic along the way...  laugh.gif
I was rather surprised they took it away when I started using android "smart"-phones.
I almost buying the IR module that plug into the audio jack.  sweat.gif
Just my 2cent  icon_rolleyes.gif

In the meantime, am awaiting kitkat to hit our N2.... yawn.gif

Actually I choose back Samsung is because it is more convenient for modding. Before that I was thinking about Note 3 Neo but realise there were not much active developer for this phone so I go for Note 2 instead. Because my budget won't allow me go for Note 3.

Aiya, I just casual root user, if can play GTA San Andreas smoothly is already very good for me already. I won't play too grapgic intensive games one. And Note 2 got 3K mAH battery, I suppose it will be good.

Don't know... One of my aunty bought secondhand Note 2 at RM 1000 from her hubby's co-worker early last year. Current RRP price at that time was RM 1999. Still in good condition and no scratches or any damages.

Typical Samsung Phones get 18 months support for software update only.

That was Google policy, not Samsung.
