Guy, some comment on my battery usage below.

-My battery drained faster than usual since last night, so i charged to max which took about 4 hours from 25% to 100%.
-This morning, i woke up to 97% which is normal. However, it dropped to 75% within 3 hr 23 min with very minimal usage.

Stock unit. Any idea what happen and how to solve this? Thank you

-imo charging from 25% to 100% within 4hrs not normal. Please ensure you're using 2A charger
-In Network Mode, did u use auto connect ? I can't help much with your screenshot. I prefer analyze more to betterbatterystatsdump.txt

Hi, thanks for the reply.
- Yes, am using the stock charger too.
- By network mode, I assume you are asking on the wifi. Yes, wifi is on auto mode, not using mobile data.

I google and found that others have reported same issue but I can't understand the technical lingo..It is something about the Android OS draining the battery

If using stock cable still need 4 hours++ to charge to full, please check any heavy apps running background or maybe your battery has problem..

because if battery has problem, it will not shown the correct capacity and you will notice sudden drop on the percentage...

Here is another user having the same issue:

1. Install this app --> BBS
2. Open BBS and ensure it is running
3. Full Charge your phone, unplug charger then reboot
4. Leave your phone idle 3-4hrs (Longer idle time give more accurate result for bbsdump.txt)
5. share your Text Dumpfile here

Thanks! biggrin.gif

I am trying another method found from google first...finger crossed

MY long charging problem is here again. Took me 8 hours to charge 60%.

I am not sure whether its the charger problem. Any idea where can I get a replacement charger or maybe just the cable? Already out of warranty.

For my case, it was the cable.
Works fine after changing the cable. The charger works fine although with the hissing sound. GCC app shows 1800mAh with the original charger.
Should take about 2.5 hrs charging from 10% battery level to full.
*
may I know where you buy the cable and how much it it? thanks

Install Galaxy Charging Current app, and monitor mAH when charging. Sometimes when plugged in only 100-200, unplug & plug again until you get more than 500, then leave it to charge.
*
just installed. now averaging 500 mA. what should be the correct figure? thanks

u should get 1800ma if using ori charger. might be due to faulty cable. from my experience samsung cable does not last long. changed my cable several times already, at most can maintain 1800ma reading for like 1-2 month then start degrading before it become super slow to full charge my phone. Currently using motorola cable from my tab, never had a problem with it even though already 3++ years old.
*
wow...1800 to 500 mA, such a big difference..any idea where to buy the cable and what is the price like? as long as both end fit the charger unit and note 2, should be okay to transfer the required current right?

sorry, not a technical person

this is actually quite common for s3 and note 2.

if you checked page 1, there's a post about a cheap and relatively good 3rd party charger... it was shared by fruitie. i've been using that charger... in fact, got myself like 4-5 and have them everywhere in the house and office.

gives out consistent 1800mAh.

original charger for N2 is rated 2A. theorectically, that means we get 2000mAh. give and take a bit... 1800mAh is quite reasonable.
*
okay thanks, found the post. will check it out smile.gif
