On Lion's ROM 4.3 now on my N7105.

Forced to use Devil Kernel, battery life is devastating.

        • Can't undervolt much, or will freeze, and a battery pull is required
        • Pegasus governor activates all cores, bad battery life (good performance)
        • Using hotplug governors like Devilq and tweak it according to my Stweaks preference on Perseus kernel will cause the entire phone to LAG (800MHz, Single core)

Since battery life is my sole consideration, should I revert back to 4.1.2 + Perseus Kernel before I head to Bangkok?

Since you're heading to a foreign country, why not revert to as far stock as possible to avoid booboos while you're away from home?

But 4.3 TouchWiz feels so much user friendlier than 4.1.2

Downgrading from TW 4.3 Mk5 back to Wanamlite 4.1.2

I miss my battery life and cool temperatures achieved by Perseus kernel.

You're making me feel like staying with Android 4.3

You see, I really like 4.3 MK5, but the battery life is not as good as the 4.1.2 (mostly because of Perseus kernel)

4.3's battery life is a far cry from 4.1.2.

It seems like I only can come out with 7.5 hours on Wifi only with a full charge. A far cry from 13 hours in past.

After I installed app lock, my battery drops 30% one night... I think the app triggers cpu all the way too much... Please help me figure out whats the prob thx.[attachmentid=3775767]

IMHO, App Lock isn't the biggest culprit. WeChat is.

Its just that App Lock only amplified the battery drain even further.

This is why I only use WeChat on BB/iOS/WP as WeChat on Android just produces too much wakelocks.

Back in its early days, it had a bug on all my Android phones where it activates the proximity sensor for long periods.

Just updated to 4.3 a few hours ago. However I seem to have issue with Wifi Connectivity. It frequently disconnects and reconnects back. Data is much stable for some odd reason.

My router is this one by the way:

I have the black one, the black one never failed me until there was a suspected surge in electricity probably from lightning, no d/c or stuff.

Back in my relative home, using the exact same router but from TM, it is SLOW, takes ages to connect, disconnects very frequently, the signal is very weak and stuff. I suspect things inside are different than the normal variant.

Verdict: the problem is not on your phone, its on the router.

Suspected wakelock caused by EZ Weather on demanding location position (anyone knows how to solve this or knows any other apps that causes such wakelocks?)

I faced the same problem with EZ weather on my note 2. Now using UCCW but still facing high number of wakelocks.
I have yet to find a functional and aesthetically pleasing weather widget...

Wakelocks aside (since such arcane things are conveniently curated away from the user by fruitco), I don't see any real benefit of an idevice over an Android today.

At worst you're getting the same SOT tongue.gif from 5s vs. uour wakelocked Android.
*
My iPhone 4's SOT is on par with my Note 2 when both of them are on Airplane mode, lowest brightness and only on WiFi

Only when you're using 3G and having the screen's brightness turned up; when both scenarios meets then you'll get a 2 hour vs 5 hour SOT biggrin.gif
