I don' know, one fine day I was playing my with my phone and then it prompted me to restart to install an update. It seems that the new update changed the baseband version to N7100XXUENA1, other than that, I don't know.
*
Mmmmm new baseband. Gotta try that.

EDIT: Just installed DDUENA, hopefully it's the same baseband. Works well so far, slightly better usability at extreme low levels of coverage here with Maxis where I am (which has horrible coverage to begin with so it makes for a great baseband testing ground).

To compare, it still can connect 60% of the time when the indicator shows 0 H/H+ bars, while it used to be more like 40% with MK1. So yeah, slight stability improvement there.

The crazy H-H+-3G switches and resultant data freezes still occur from time to time though, but it's lesser compared to MK1.

Bare in mind we're talking about an area with 0-2 bars of coverage on average here. You might not see any difference when you're in an area of 3-5 signal bars.

i read in a forum.. most probably because of the position of the power button make it easily pressed.

i'm planning to buy a new flip case so the power button will be covered when the flip closed. currently she is using the original flip cover which is only cover the screen.
*
It's a combination of the button being where it is and the size of the N2 itself, especially in tight pockets. If you use a case with a protruding power button (or no case) you more often than not will press it accidentally (or in the case if the restart guys, hold down and restart).

Get a case with cutouts for the buttons like the Mercury Jelly. While this doesn't make the problem go away completely, it does help.

y u no update to wanamlite 4.3? its gooding yo.  brows.gif

Agreed. I'm really not having most of the batt draining and lags everyone keeps on complaining about on 4.3... But I DID come from the mess that was the S3 - so I'm pretty biased lol.

And the S5... Pfft.

Sammy isn't even trying now. Fingerprint sensor and super power saving mode sounds nice though, but it's just not droolworthy unfortunately.

Sticking with my N2. Still does everything I need without breaking a sweat, though not having LTE will be quite a sore spot moving forward.

Why not note 3? For me it's a wise upgrade from note 2. S5 does sux badly
*
I upgraded from an S3 actually... right into the N2. And this was when the N3 was already available mind you. I guess I'm just not *that* pumped up over the latest and greatest any more.

Let's see what the N4 has to offer. At least when it comes out and proves to be *another* dud, I have the option to get a (by then substantially marked down) N3 on the cheap.

After all, the "early adopter tax" can be kinda steep, especially with Sammy phones.

Why not play the waiting game a bit more for Galaxy Note 9?
Hahaha
*
Why not. By then then Galaxy Note 8 will be significantly cheaper lol.

To be fair, a 3 month wait is all it needs for you to save a considerable amount of dosh on Sammy stuff lol, at least since the S4 generation anyway. Or at least the guys at BGR and Idealo thinks so too: http://bit.ly/1o3gbpq

But, this is all YMMV, as always.

Sammy can always make the N4 so freaking innovative that this point is moot, however. Whether or not they are able to do so is a different matter altogether though.

I suspect also but wanna try stock ROM first.
Must use PC Odin? Mobile Odin can?
*
Safest way would be desktop Odin, but MOP should work fine. Again do Google first on the bootloader pertaining to your sis's firmware version - even though it's not as bad as the N3, Sammy did do some weird knoxy crap on the bootloaders of the latest N2 firmwares.

Unless of course SDS / heavy eMMC corruption. In which case nothing less than a full board replacement will help. But I guess you know this already.

I really want to know how many percentage of Samsung galaxy users been using the phones more than two years without problem....haiz.....
*
Well, 3-4 years is the average max estimate I can give for an AMOLED Sammy phone in my hands, at least one that comes from the factory with a "sane" eMMC.

Why 3-4 years? At the rate I'm using the phone, by 4 years the screen would have obvious permanent burn in defects already for sure. I mean my S3 barely went through a year before having a huge bar burnt in into one side of the screen from Google Nav.

The N2, being SAMOLED is doing better at least, but like I said 4 years is max.

This is of course, not counting the OTHER stuff that can (and will) break: speaker, bluetooth/wifi module, USB port...

recall reading somewhere that for charging... the USB will somehow check the connection type, 'negotiate', and then settle on the current that will pass thru...

one issue i have with powerbank charging is that usually, first few weeks, the cable that comes with the powerbank is still good... can charge almost 2A (as per powerbank). however, later on... the current will drop...

right now... i'm only getting 800mAh even though its on the powerbank's 2A port. different cables will give me different results. i noticed shorter cable is much better.

anyway, using the GCC, i noticed when i first plug in... the current reading is 1800mAh. then... after 2-3 seconds... it drops to about 700-800mAh.

i'm wondering... is there a way to force the charge to be at 1800mAh? anyone got any success getting about 1400mAh (or more) from a2A port on a powerbank? what model? what cable?
*
This actually depends on how the powerbank manufacturer chose to "implement" their 2A port.

The normal, widespread way is "Apple compatible", which works for iPads and the like but the port WILL NOT supply a full 2A to anything else - unless you use one of those "charge booster" attachments (which actually doesn't boost anything, it just shorts some wires).

The proper way is to use actual USB standards to supply 2A, in which case it should work with the N2, or any other android phone/tablet that needs 2A.

That IS, if the port is really providing 2A to begin with. Powerbank manufacturers can be quite... misleading when it comes to this. Especially the more... low key ones.

As for which powerbanks that actually use the "proper way", I'm not sure, but uncle Google should have the answer. Just look for "android compatible 2A powerbanks".

FYI, all this applies to car chargers as well.

* watch video - no issue
* use pen to crop and share stuff... - no issue even with screen write, u can even use the air command for screen write.
* screen capture with pen - if you are talking about holding the pen button to capture then no problem at all

Battery wise - not bad actually...i've been using AOSP rom for 6 months so touchwiz rom has better battery life than aosp rom.

This RC is based on 4.4.2 IINM. To flash this a full wipe is a must. I didnt read much from xda coz i took this rom from a friend to test it.

My issue now is only the superSU. Cant seem to open it but doesnt say that i lost my root. rclxub.gif
*
The superSU thing is a documented issue with KitKat leaks. Your root is fine (the superSU binary), it's just the app that has issues with the Sammy leaks.

In short, nothing to be worried about.

That said, still don't see any benefits of upgrading to KK yet. Gonna stick to my ancient Wanamlite 4.0 for now; so I don't lose my favourite app: the old AOSP base browser with pie controls.

Try as I might, I've never tried any browser that is even remotely as intuitive. Not yet anyway.

Here's hoping N5 won't disappoint.
