My dad managed to crack his phone by accidentally dropping it off the stairs. 1.2 meters i think. And its pretty major. My Nokia Lumia 720 dropped facing flat on the road still works. LOL
Ask him to change to a new phone so I get it for free(for custom rom purposes only) but he said NVM. sad.gif
need to get the glass replacement service on LYF

Not easy. Because there are lots of people selling it too.

I've tried selling tonnes of phones, but in the end give up because people either low ball or just don't want. Its hard to sell used phones in SG forums when everyone can afford new ones.

Now I have at least 30 phones in my storage.
*
Mind selling me your Note 3 or Note 2 LTE at a lower price than the market used price? My dad cracked his phone lol.

Glass Replacement is only around 250-300 depending on seller . Dont get conned . Unless u go back to SME , there's no glass replacement , they change the whole screen for u , that's y u r paying 500+
*
I totally know this lol. TQ for replying anyways
Just enquired a LYF about his service. On the surface(his advertising like before and after pictures + it's liquid bonding technique) is really promising, for S3 he charges 250, Note 2? Idk.
Not going to get it repaired at SME.

No, sorry. I haven't been selling my phones because I rather keep than giving others a bargain.

Buy a new Note 2 or Note 3 Neo lah, in fact I'm selling my Note 2 LTE at that price range anyways.
*
No, never a lite version of a high end phone. If he's about to get a new phone, I would either tell him to get HTC One M8 or Nexus 5.

WanamLite? or Pheonix Rom still top popular? and any custom rom based on 4.4 and stable?

p/s: sorry, I don't own N2 and I'm not really follow this thread here much, just trying to help my N2 friend.
*
According to the reviews, Phoenix ROM is still the most stable Samsung Based rom available.
If you want the latest and greatest from Note 3 including KitKat, Flash DN3 newest RC version

I suggest you flashing any of these. It should include everything including Knox bootloader(does it even matter as Knox is triggered), stock recovery and android. I assume it goes into download mode, use odin 1.85(recommended)or 3.09 instead of odin 3.9(does it even exist?!that's what you said) to flash it. Afterwards, immediately root it using CF Auto root and install TWERK(Team Win Recovery Project). Install CM11(my favorite AOSP variant)or any other AOSP variant. Enjoy unbricked phone.

Flashed SlimKat 4.4.2

heard can fix the SDS problem......or delay its future death sad.gif
*
Just keep flashing roms every now and then. So it will like "refresh" the chip? But then, it will still die in the future. You might also have changed phone as well

If not mistaken, stock kernel 4.1.2 and above and custom kernel all have SDS prevention...it only slow down the problem because I saw still have people facing issues..

Really? I'm using custom kernel(i think it's devil kernel) for offical 4.3 (knox free)

His loss is my gain! XD rclxms.gif
It will not die, I will buy it from him and use it as my third device. Mainly for testing ROMs and watching movie on TV using micro USB to HDMI MHL connector.

This is out of the topic but do you guys think S5 is stupiak?
We can literally buy an older phone like Note 2 and S3 to flash it with S5/DN3 rom. We still can get a pretty good performance out of the phone after we slightly overclock it.
Good performance ROM for
S3: MIUI v5, S4Revolution
N2: AOSP variant, DN3 RC2

Well, for one, the newer phones all have full HD displays. This is worth the price of the upgrade IMHO, but since it started with the S4, getting an S4 or S4 Active might make sense. S4 is also much cheaper now from places like DirectD or SatuGadget.

Comparing the screens of N2 and N3, N3 really wins hands down, but otherwise N2 is still a fully serviceable device. It can handle remote desktop to my corporate support applications and works nicely as a hotspot.

Best of all, HandyNote sync to both my devices let me scribble lots of useful notes without being tied down to S-Note.

Anyway, whatever features that are software based will end up getting ported, so yes, in some ways, newer phones are rather gimmicky.
*
I don't really mind using phones with 250ppi and above. Full HD(in phones only) is still too early for me, I prefer 720P even if someone is going to pay for my phone. Take the rest and buy a tablet!

Another good reason for me to but the Note 12.2 Pro over the Xperia Z2 tablet, since i've made my way back in school icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Xperia Z2 is so small. With Note 12.2 you can multitask more which means more productive and efficient

Microsoft Surface is also heavy. What's the difference then if you choose N12.2 over MS S?
Compared to Microsoft Surface because it has higher multitask performance than X2T
