try emmc bringbug check. It should tell you straight away whether you have insane chip or not.
It's fking weird actually, my dad's N2 also has the insane chip but nothing has happened to it after 1 and a half year usage

It requires root. I think he said before his phone is not rooted.

no it doesn't.
Only filling the blocks up requires root.

Oh I see. Because it asked for root during app startup.

Asking. Currently I am on ND3 ROM/bootloader - France XEF (DN3 ROM v5). If I flashed our country stock DN4 ROM (XXUFND4 - Malaysia XME)... Will I able downgrade back to DN3 bootloader again? Both is for 4.4.2 KitKat Android.

I switch back to ND4 stock XME ROM already. I just need some apps on DN3. Like Note 3 S Note etc. No force close and whatsever.

Hi guys, n00b here.

I was attempting to update to 4.4.2 via kies, but failed. I've tried emergency firmware recovery in kies but no succeed. I think I just soft-bricked my phone, didn't I? Can I flash 4.4.2 via odin without installing the emergency firmware?

Thanks.
*
Yes you can.

sorry... this LITE = kernel?

anyway, Arzwart... you have compared both Phoenix and DN3. you feel DN3 is better?
*
The ROM doesn't have that much bloatware like S5 fancy apps.

this is how the error looks like on my phone
[attachmentid=3992531] [attachmentid=3992532]

for the second image (right), the first 'thumbnail' is broken.

i wonder if this is the KitKat vs SD card thingy. i'm running stock rom. 4.4.2.

i'm still testing and see what is causing it. so far, i'm suspecting:
* files copied directly from PC to SDcard can cause this
* files copied from PC to phone storage seems to be OK so far

will monitor closely and feedback later. but anyone else got this issue?
*
Based on my analysis...

The SD Card thingy only affects (will get Ti Backup force close, insufficient space, cannot install certain apps etc problem):
DN3 v5 (without + ROM) - Can fix via Recovery with a zip file
AGNI Kernel 4.2 for TW based 4.4.2 ROM - Cannot fix at all Need wait author to release the new patch / update to the kernel.

No issue:
DN3 v5+ - Ti Backup working perfectly
Stock 4.4.2 XME ND4 - Ti Backup working perfectly

Screenshot your current ROM's about phone section. And what ODIN did you use? 3.09?

Did you extract the zip and choose PDA to browse the md5 file?

Ok, just make sure whether you have the same error as mine. Go to Facebook app, simply pick a photo and save the photo. Did you get message like "Error saving photo"?

Hmm that's weird. Because on my stock ROM build: 4.4.2 XXUFDN4 has no problems with it. Only custom ROM's and kernel's giving me trouble saving files no matter to SD card or phone memory. Tried factory reset before?
