Anyone here is dual booting on Devil's kernel?
I would want to dual boot: Primary: TW 4.3 MK5 Secondary: AOSP 4.4 KitKat • Anything that I need to take note? • Will flashing the secondary ROM wipe the kernel? |

QUOTE(oneavaya @ Jan 8 2014, 11:45 PM) Hi all, Forget about S PlannerNeed help here. However, I am now curious about creating appointments (not event/task) in S Planner. As shown below (the yellow label) [attachmentid=3807055] I managed to do it once (but now forgot), then unable to delete the entry. So I did force close and the appointment entry is gone. Now I have tried many ways to recreate it but to no avail. Google Calendar + Google Keep is the way forward. Plus you can keep your calendars synced between your devices and computers. |

QUOTE(tiensong @ Jan 8 2014, 11:26 AM) for me, my wife using note II too...It is more than enough for a girl daily use...why need to root it or install custom ROM? anyway, depend on the user usage pattern...if heavy user, then might consider root and custom ROM... Yep, just don't bother. My cliques only Whatsapp, Facebook, WeChat and use browser (Internet, not other better browsers) to search for makeup tutorials and cooking recipes.(a lot of female users even don't know about 4.3 update....and they don't bother if their phone is good enough for daily use) |

I noticed, even at 2000Mhz, the phone will still lag if you have limited your graphics card to 54MHz or 108Mhz
I never knew the UI used GPU to render rather than CPU Jumped to AGNI kernel from Devil. Currently missing the register hook |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jan 11 2014, 11:54 AM) You have project Butter to thank for that. Though it's still not running 100% GPU accelerated unless you force it through the Dev options. I see. Oh well, Agni kernel so far giving me worse battery life as compared to Devil which was already crappy when I compared it to my all time favorite - the Perseus kernel. |

QUOTE(Anonymous34 @ Jan 11 2014, 09:17 PM) at 2.0Ghz you can fry egg on it already lol. I tried an asylum kernel before(forgot the name), it was very very hot but it's working very smooth lol. Things are getting hot even at 1.6GHz with no undervolt. I noticed Perseus is able to give me the most stable undervolt at 25mV increaments in Stweaks rather than 50mV in devil/AGNIAnyways, I upgraded to DN3 v3.2, Less bugs compared to v2. Anyways any good overclocking kernel to pair with it? If got dual boot feature better, since I want to try Android 4.4.2. Did an endurance run earlier on: on WiFi: 30% = 2 hours SOT on 3G: 30% = 1 hours SOT Conclusion: Devil Kernel is more battery efficient Devil kernel can dual boot. I'm switching to that now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My question is: If I dual boot like this: Primary ROM = TW 4.3 Secondary ROM = CM11 In this configuration, is it possible for me to flash CM11 on Secondary? Will it flash over the kernel causing me to lose dualboot? |

Flashed OMNI ROM (4.4.2) on secondary ROM on devil kernel along with my TW 4.3
Battery life is terrible as compared to stock despite same kernel settings. Back on the TW4.3, I could get 450 minutes of SOT while this only got 390 minutes. I miss 4.1.2 where 13 hour SOTs are possible. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 17 2014, 08:05 PM) Last year N2 drop to 1699 just after CNY. This year will also be the same or worse. Actually you can consume all file formats without a problem as long you're on android and are able to access the play store or the very least able to install .apks.In fact, N3 drop to 18xx weeks ago but drag itself out to 2k due to holiday shopping. I think it will start dropping again even faster when Samsung announce S5 at WMC. Actually Samsung phones feel tiring after a few. The only other manufacturer I feel worth trying is HTC. Personally I do avoid Nexus phone because I feel there are better choices out there. Get Samsung if you like to be able to expand the internal storage, change battery and be able to consume all sort of media files without conversion. HTC for better build quality, LG for better customer service. Both usually lacks internal storage and comes with un-removable battery. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 17 2014, 10:11 PM) Some are able to play them via third party apps but Samsung does it natively. Not only that, Samsung uses hardware acceleration while third party may still be using software accelerated playback. Try playing rmvb files or ape music on stock Samsung's bloatware. This post has been edited by ((Xa))0102: Jan 17 2014, 10:44 PM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jan 21 2014, 01:49 PM) Well the are varying levels of eMMC corruption leading up to full blown SDS ("critical" level corruption) like what your friend experienced. In the case of "heavy" eMMC corruption, you could still turn on your phone but it will bootloop after the "Note 2" startup screen and no amount of reflashing ROMs can save it. My S3 had the "heavy" eMMC corruption too. Boot loop starts when it reaches the boot animation after the splashscreen. Costs me $243 for the board as I was out of warranty with 12 flash counts This is what happened to my old S3 and yeah it ended up getting a full board replacement because if it, thankfully for free since I was still under warranty. Not that it mattered much since I dropped and broke the S3 a few months after that anyway. QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Jan 21 2014, 02:02 PM) I bought my Note2 from Maxis with 2 year contract , but i remember maxis only offer 1 year warranty How bout try finding people who are selling off their cracked Note 2 and use their motherboard instead? It costs lesser than RM800 IMHO (because I saw one going for SGD250 the other day) |
