I tried to root the Note2 4.3 but I get this knox thing popping up
Can anyone advise which method can work this out?

i am on 4.3 official malaysia firmware now, but facing alot of restart by itself recently.

my phone is rooted, would like to waiting new firmware to release but unfortunately it seem like never happen.

would like to ask, which is better custom firmware to flash now, would like to change it see whether can solve the restart issue or not.

The stock rom's 4.4.2 kitkat doesn't really changed much compared to the 4.3 we had now...(In terms of the UI)
Pretty disappointing I was expecting the UI to change to be something near like the S5.

no longer under warranty, still remain stock 4.3 and knox not tripped

wanted to have phone root but keep the stock 4.3 rom, will update to 4.4 when it comes and look for root method for 4.4 later

Which part of my statement makes u think I assume u r rooted ?
i was asking what happened to me if i tripped knox, you got talk about root, well extra info always better


As for the part locked from update to newer version, what they actually mean is the bootloader itself and firmwares but not roms?

ROM is the firmware , same as some users referred to the " phone " as the " device "

Some facts about KNOX status:
It isn’t possible to downgrade to KNOX-disabled firmwares/bootloaders (An attempt sets 0×1) (even though some people state, downgrade is possible when omitting the bootloader file in a firmware package). By downgrading from KNOX-enabled to KNOX-disabled firmware, your devices will be locked to installation of newer firmwares.


is that mean it only happens if i try to downgrade my knox bootloader to previous non-knox bootloader?

I never say Odin is not usable after rooting , only OTA and KIES update

users tripped their knox to install custom recovery to go to custom rom , so what do u think ?
for example,  I've seen number of users on xda who have minor problems with their custom rom + custom kernel based on stock kernel will have frequently FC problems, it's something related to knox bootloader

used to mod my LG O2x, now using note 2, because knox thingy need to be more careful

1) You need to have Samsung 4.3 Bootloader or newer. MJ5 firmware Bootloader is recommended. If you don't have, see here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2205009 (under SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR 3.6 AND ABOVE) or http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2500823
2) Make sure you have the latest TWRP/CWM recovery installed. TWRP recovery is recommended.(Linked: TWRP thread
3) Next, remember to backup your app and your efs folder. That's something that you always should do before flashing anything
4) Go to TWRP/CWM recovery via pressing home + power + volume up button at the same time.
5) Make a nandroid backup if you haven't done so.
6) Use the "Clean to install a new rom" option in Wipe Data and system.(clean installation recommended)
7) (Reminder) Remember that everything you flash you do it at your own risk so do your research before flashing anyhting.
8) Now go to choose to install the rom zip file. If you using Philz recovery, make sure to untick "Don't Allow Old update-binary".
9) Flash the rom. It should take less than 10 minutes till it boots.
9) Enjoy the ROM

Just want to add. 

MJ5 Bootloader if you using the kitkat 4.4.2 ROM  You cannot charge the phone while the phone is turn off.  If your battery out of juice,  you need a external battery charger. 

With the new bootloader you can charge your battery while the phone turn off.

Unable to charge while in off mode is not a issue for me.  Unless it is a 2nd phone that you rarely use and forgot to charge it and loss all the battery juice.
  I wonder with MJ5 bootloader you still can plug in the charger and it will boot up even the battery juice all gone.

My N2 warranty with Samsung will end this 30 May.  I'm still considering to upgrade my bootloader with Knox.    Because still got 3 years warranty under Senheng.

yup, same here on DN3 V5, the setting for backlight key is missing, is not a big deal la, but i gguess if can turn that off might save a bit of battery?

Arzwart ok thanks for the notes, but i still cant silent the shutter sound and boot up sound in wanam xposed
i install the xposed installer from XDA and then install Wanam, apply setting for in Wanam reboot but i still can turn off the sound and etc..
mind share how you do it? newbie here, Thanks!

Hi Guys, I'm encountering my samsung galaxy note 2 display goes on and off when it is left idle. The screen will turn on by itself even there is no notification and no call coming in. Then it will turn the screen off. This randomly appear and the phone feels hot.

Anyone encountered this?
