he gave his note 2 to his wife... but he now start developing in note3 section.

Note3 is quite boring, until u put on the Gear

but Gear also sucks battery like hell
testing for a few hours only, didnt like it in the end

His note 3 is exynos version as it is the only version available in India. And plus he does not like to build roms for devices he do not have, I doubt we will be using his rom (which is already available) in Note 3.

DN3 v3.1.1 is really smooth. Great rom .. didn't face any FC not like Dr.KetanRom V5. But Dr.KetanRom is invidivual work with help from his friends, while DN3 v.3.1.1 is from a team work (Electron Team) so you can see the testing etc is well done in DN3

DN 3.1 successfully flashed after a fullwipe. Just wiping Dalvik and Cache could not get past boot screen.

I'm still on MF2 bootloader so I had to flash in Dr. Ketan's wifi patch. Everything seems working. Have to try the Screen Mirroring later today.

To also flash the OTA patch as well and see how it goes.

does the fullwipe means factory reset at recovery?

here's something to think about when it comes to custom roms, especially those with Note 3 features.

in a way, one can say these ROMS are infringing on copyright by providing these features. some of these features may actually be copyrighted/ patented (be thankful we're not talking about fruit company that practically patent anything and everything).

if they are not 'featured' in any official stock Note 2 ROMS, then by adding these into the ROMS... you get what i mean, right?

i mean... when we expand this further, we'll end up with people putting stuff like Asphalt, Final Fantasy, etc into their ROM -- maybe just because they like it.

no doubt these Note 3 features are 'made by Samsung', but technically, unless they said its OK (or by bundling it with Note 2), otherwise, it can be considered piracy, no?

just wanna check... coz i noticed my contact birthdays dun appear on my s calendar anymore.

what i did... added birthday into contacts. then let it sync. when i check on gmail (website), i can see the birthday appears on the contact list.

but check with s-calendar, birthday does not appear. seems to happen only for newly added birthdays. the earlier contacts with birthdays, their birthday is showing on my s-calendar.

any settings that i can check? i have checked calendar setting and allowed sync contact birthdays.

About apps, if it is a paid app, xda will ban and remove the roms. If it is a free app no issues since you can also download it anyway.

On features, look at it this way. Everyone that is using the rom is already using a samsung and had technically bought the feature with the phone anyway. But there are features/mods/apps taken from other phones like sony, htc, etc. So in a way we can say it is piracy. But the companies do not seem to be bothered as this had been going on for years. Probably cos,
1. Taking features/mods/apps from other devices is usually prone to some missing things/hardware that will make it not 100% functional
2. Its a kind of advertising for other manufacturers to lure future buyers.
3. Its just not worth it for them to pursue anything.

guys, i think i found the problem to my phone storage after flashed dn3.1

i open up the storage in settings
the misc file is whoooping 9gb, but when i tap it just show my tibu backup.
i even explore using my pc and explorer, cant find the source of 9gb

can i have suggestion for this problem, due i cant restore my apps.

since you are coming from 4.1.2 i think... there a still leftover old data. 4.3 using a different path and in my experience it did not copy some of the old data to new path. try wiping your internal data might solve the problem but you will loose some of your personal data if you did not back it up previously. like picture etc.

i'm having the same problem last time... and i wipe all... total wipe... including the internal sd

sorry, firsttime flashed custom rom, didnt know anything.

i did lost all my personal data after flashed dn3.1, surprised to see it left 2gb since i thought the wipe i did remove everything.

but i do have backup stored in my pc and my external sd card

ya, i understand your point and i can see both sides as well...

but in one way (just an example), some DELL laptops comes with Windows 7 OS, MS Office and some other stuffs. Some comes with just Windows 8. Does not really mean that we can grab the MS Office and say since its from Dell/ MS (ya, maybe I guess I should have used a MS hardware instead as a better example), we can use it.

anyway, back to the custom roms for our Note 2 that has Note 3 features.

nope... the normal wipe skip the internal sd so some old files are still intact. try to look in cwm on advanced menu or something... there are one option to wipe internal sd... cant seem to remember since i dont use cwm for long time... or search for Dr.Ketan Multi tools. It contain the wipe script in it which can be run using cwm.
