It's worth it if you know what you doing. Buy quality stuff, do a lot of research.

Do your research and know what you are buying. Use the necessary hose clamps on all barbed connections. Make sure you always leak test your water cooling loop before fixing it into ur PC or test the loop by itself without powering on the PC for at least 24hrs if u wanna be safe and check for leaks.
As long as you know what you are doing and take the necessary steps and precautions, to me its all worth it. |

I had had the water coolant spill all over the motherboard, graphic card and rams before during pc maintenance.
And I am still using the same graphic card and rams and water cooler system. Motherboard got zapped by lighthing though. |

Just remove the water block with the tiub still attached, you can do even with the motor still running though not recommended. Read my post above if something unfortunate happened
The water will be still there. Once you done with your pc, just put back the waterblock and new thermal grease. You do not need to put gel or any other stuff for the processor unless you are running peltier. The only thing you put is thermal grease. Most popular brand is artic silver cost around RM35 in Lowyat, check the bulk section for cheaper price though. |

QUOTE(highway04 @ Jun 23 2006, 01:53 AM) erm how about when u 1 2 fix yor pc That is not gel,it is 'Thermal compound'.then how u get all the water out 1st b4 u fix the pc? or u dun need 2 take away all the water n i 1 2 ask the gel ah to put under the prosessor soket ah tats 4 wat n how much? The function of thermal compound is to transfer the heat from the processor to the heatsink. The normal with appolo brand only cost you RM5 and the best thermal compound most of the pc enthusiast using is 'Artic Silver 5' or normaly we call it 'AS5'. I've try both appolo and artic silver 5. I get 6-11c drops with the artic silver 5. Have a look at bulk orders section. 3.5g As 5 = RM23 12g As 5= RM53 |

for wc wise..artic ceramic is the best...it might higher 0.5 or 1 celcius compare to as5 BUT when u remove ur waterblock for sum purpose ... hell lot easy to remove compare to as5 ( too sticky escpecially if ur waterblock is mirror finished)
