2013 is quite a big year for poker in Malaysia, if you didnt know what happened:

this kind of career is like putting yr career and money on the line... win, u are the top, lose u might LOSE EVERYTHING!!

u can see this guy win like milions, BUT u haven't really see there are millionsss that LOST everything and committed suicide...

Questions is:

Same could be said about full-time investors.

Poker isn't gambling in the conventional sense, while there is a luck element to it, pros generally play using mathematics, kind of like value investing. It's all about calculating pot odds (fair value / margin of safety) and controlling your stomach (any money you've put in, consider it gone, once a new card opens it's a completely different game, cut losses if need be).

Some of these people earn millions consistently year by year. You don't do that by luck.

bro if you have a millions to losse you already on the top already la ......... plus most of the poker player i believe is started low , and not all is started rich .

Besides, you can never lose more than your capital.

Yes S_SienZ is absolutely right. The players with the dedication and time to learn and study the game will rise to the top like Phil Ivery, Doug "WCG Rider" Polk, Phil Galfond similar to what Tan Teng Boo and Warren Buffett have in common.

Nobody gets good and last in this game by being lucky. Luck will even itself out in the long run, and thats where skill prevails.

Like a famous quote,"No limit holdem poker takes a minute to learn, but a lifetime to master".
