Hafizhans... your Breaking Bad signature is so cute! just happen I am currently chasing this awesome series.

Anyway back to the topic... I hope this is just "proposed" rate by some idiot.. but we all have to be prepare for it as the chance for this to approve is almost inevitable..

I use LDP everyday doh.gif Pay Rm2.10x2 = rm 4.20 Per day and still stuck in bloody jam...They should just tear down the tol in at Puchong/sunway and that should solve the jam problem.

Well, all the free stuff BN gave out during the election period has to be paid. So here is the bill.

This is what happens when you vote BN. Too bad come GE14, Malaysians have all forgotten about this, and BN can blame all the misery the Malays are experiencing on the chinese.

It is the chinese fault! They are the cause of all the Malay misery. Vote BN or the chinese will destroy you. Blah blah blah.

(forgetting that Malaysia roles out the red carpet for the Chinese president of PRC when he comes to visit.)

Same old trick and Malaysians fall for it every single time.

All these one-liner replies ... is this RWI or /k/ ? doh.gif

OK. Let's try to get this back into a discussion.

I think E26 is barely enough to keep up with inflation. Are there alternatives to using the highways? Is it possible to simply drive on the trunk roads instead?

How about car pooling? Would this cut down on the toll? Instead of one man driving his kids to school, then go another direction to send the wife to work, and then a third place to get himself to work ... the kids go in the school bus. Or somebody in the neighbourhood with a 12 seater van can send all the kids to the same school. The wife carpool with neighbours who goes in the same direction. And the husband carpools with the neighbours going the same way.

The point is, carpooling is not just about filling up the cars. It's about making the most efficient use of the vehicles. Just because you leave the house with 4 people in the car does not mean you cannot do better. Especially if these 4 people are going to 4 different places that are not near to each other.

Carpooling is not about providing car-transport to people who don't have cars. If there are 20 families living on one street, with 20 cars, all filled with 4 people every morning; carpooling can still increase efficiency. The cars will travel shorter distances, burning less fuel, ringing up less toll, and there is less wear and tear on the vehicles. The trips would be shorter. The people going in the same direction to the same places gets into the same cars.

Driving on trunk roads is not always possible.
1 - The highway is often build on sections of the trunk road. Thus there are sections of Malaysia that are connected only by the highway.
2 - The trunk roads are not maintained. It is actually so bad in some places that tree roots have started to damaged the road surface.

Still nice idea. It is very nice scenic drive to travel across Malaysia, I would recommend it. However it can be dangerous for the inexperienced and impatient. Lots of fast lorries.

Good idea, but the problem is very few people living in the same neighborhood actually go the same direction. And even going the same direction mean, a need for public transport to actually get to your place of work on the final leg of the journey. At the moment Malaysian public transport is very poor and overtaxed. It is a strange thing that, you would think that high demand would result in expansion of the system to feed the demand. Sadly that does not happen, for reasons known only to the big bosses.

Plus the recent issue to include motorcyclist into the lot..
fuel price is also expected to increase again by next year
wait make that a definite raise, still struggling
to collect BR1M handouts it seems...
and yet still no story on the so-called lowering
the price for cars, then again if the actual price
is decreased even by a meager 0.1%..it still is cheaper
than the previous..

Expect the worsts, come 2015

It's hilarious what the government is doing, I'm not too sure why the toll prices continue to sky rocket. Maintenance fees increasing? Workforce? Or some director feels that he isn't getting paid enough?

Most of their work force is paid close to minimum wage so I don't quite get it.

Guess this is what we must suffer till the next GE. Let's hope electricity doesn't increase by 70% by then.

This is what happens when the concessions (subsidies) are taken away as a result of overspending. In a way, I think this is a great move by the government. Moving forward, I'm curious how the government lie that our inflation of ~2-5%. Malaysia is finally becoming a free floating economy. With VAT this scheme would be complete. rclxms.gif

there is no significant in rising the toll prices, users of tolls are gaining each year... they must have a cutting point where the government give back the toll roads to the people... in reality more toll, creates more traffic jams. any way you put it.. the people will suffer. mid level medium level and of course low level income groups.

Else you guys think where the brim money come from. From your own pocket.

All the increases will increase individual expenses by at least RM10 per day minimum.
Then you multiple by 365 days. 365 x 10 = RM 3650 per year. So now you ask, why brim so little.
G gets more than they give you. No brainer.

ehh you do know that all the highways are being maintained by PROPEL Berhad right ? And PROPEL Berhad is a business unit under UEM Builders Berhad and UEM is subidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad 100% owned by our GOVERNMENT and the current Prime Minister Najib is the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

So you can go figure is it related to government? And the toll collection is it not for the maintenance of the highways ? So naturally it goes to PROPEL to help you maintain the highway. Bersyukur kpd BN ... notworthy.gif

One additional effect will be increase in food prices, given that both power and transportation prices have increased but do not worry BN is still thinking of its people. Harga makanan naik: Reduce obesity! Tak ada orang gemuk kat Malaysia. Only the slim and fit now.

Harga kereta tinggi. To encourage Malaysians cycle to work! Why aren't more malaysians walking and cycling to work? This mode of transport is free.

Thank you, MeToo. You have finally made me realise that BN really is thinking about the people. And all this while I was thinking bad things about BN when there were just trying to improve Malaysia's standard of living.

Please dont sound like a goon from 70s. Your brilliant solution only show that you are just living in the comfort of your beloved parents and sounded like a spoilt brat. If you want to continue discussing then reply with sound reasonings that are worth discussing, else just go back to /K and not trolling around. You will be in my ignore list should you reply childish words to my quote.

Do you know we are tax payers ? And do you know some highways doesnt have old roads to accomodate ? If you are not very sure, go ask daddy to fetch you out and take a look. There is no prolonged story, there is only unsatisfied tax payers that wants the fair amount of treatment equivalent to what is being paid.

there's a highway in Penang called Jelutong Expressway built by IJM.

basically, IJM does a land swap deal with the state to reclaim swamp area in exchange for the highway.
but it takes about 15years for the highway to be built as they built the highway in phases according to the land that they reclaimed.

so basically Penang enjoys free highway.

regarding the maintenance, if government buys it up, all the revenue and profit will belong to the government.
At the end of the day, who benefits ?? it's the people la.

there are many ways to conduct things, either to let corporations to rip of the people, or to let the people enjoy lower cost of living.

off topic a bit, why Syed Mokhtar is allowed to swallow so many monopoly based government business ??
Such as Bernas, Pos Malaysia, etc etc.......

who pays for his acquisition of the RM 30 billion loan under him ?? the people la idiot.....

That's the only image that's circulating around the web and there's no source of it as far as I can see.

So, so long as there is one source (unquotable) I'm not going to believe it. So let's not get all panicky now before we see what really happens.

I don't believe that the government would raise tolls that high that quickly. Doesn't make sense in both a political and economical way. If they do do it...it will only serve to anger the population more, make them lose points and drive more votes away from them. You can raise it but not that much that quickly, which makes me believe its a hoax letter that's out...

Then again, I could be wrong. *shrug*

They have to do it now. No money already. And if they do it now, they have 4 years to brain wash you before the next GE. then they pusing some stories again. The story of toll price hike will be another forgotten tale.

I have no doubt they have to do it but raising it that high in one move doesn't smack of a lot of sense. Even with the rise in petrol they had to carefully manage it along with the rise of sugar and all that. And those were small increments.

Anyways, as a political adviser, I advise against it. smile.gif

Spot on, many Malaysians are forgetful .. so nearing GE, BN only need to handout some money ... win then later can untung balik by increasing tariff one by one..after GE. A strategy that always works to Malaysians ..

BN follow the data from bank negara where some of it doesnt release to the public.

If our country doesnt heading to the so call bankrupt direction, why recently bn government implement all of this subsidy cut and price hike to offset the government spending? Surely they already feeling tight in their wallet and they know keep increasing debt will force the country to bankruptcy.

Im not surprise there still alot of ignorance people like you where they doesnt have the knowledge regarding the financial status of the country at all. I pay approximately rm1k every month as personal income tax, should be alot more than you do... so is this consider sikit?
Why should I pay another gst when i already pay alot more than other people?

As the data goes only less than 10% percent of people actually paying income tax and I can say 90% paying tax are from urban area which supporting opposition while rural area who doesnt pay tax support bn.

Government already say we are currently not very good in our financial result that is why need gst to ease the burden. If we are doing good why are we go into gst. If country cant go bankrupt then no need to get the tax from us. If you have the skill to manage the wealth of the country, why bother to ask money from us for your expense?

im giving you the evidence you want, spend more for rakyat is good but over spending it is not and its a sign of heading towards bankrupt. so wats your arguement point? if budget deficits are so good, why government trying to reduce the deficits? should have spend even more?

im trying to see ur post are kinda meaningless, argue without points and off topic.

fyi. m'sia budget has always been on deficit except 3 or 4 yrs in 1994-1997 timeframe. debt ratio hit 100% in 1987/8 i think. n remember that those were during the time when externally sourced debt were abt 1/3 of total debt. since then the country has reduced external sourced debt to less than 5-10% nowadays n debt ratio has gone down to 50+%. also deficit ratio to gdp was at its worse in 1982 when it hit 15%, n now we r trying to reduce it below 4%. budget deficit does not necessarily link to default situation.

n part of the deficits r for investment purposes for future growth though it is a concern where early 2000s the investment expenditure was abt 35% n then reduced to 17% (2014 budget). this is definitely a concern but it does not mean we r near anything close to default or bankruptcy as u put it. 10 yr msia bond still healthy though slighly on the high side for the yr but it is normal if u look at 2000 till now.

Ok so u contribute rm3k each month, may i know what is your salary range? And what is your tax percentage? I am expecting this kind of reply from you, because right now suddenly i felt that all malaysian are in high income group. I feel very lucky that i currently replying to a person earn more than rm20k per month.

With this kind of statement, i highly doubt u will earn that much... government spend for us? Government dont even have the money how can they spend for us? Is our tax money they are using...

And for your info govenrment say the household income per month for malaysian is rm5k per month, based on this i would say a person who contribute rm1k per month as tax would be only around 1% since 5k per month u will probably gettting rm100 to rm200 as tax

What am I supposed to appreciate or be grateful for? We are forced with the "RESPONSIBILITY" to pay taxes. In that same way, it is then the GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to develop the country and ensure progress for everyone.

Is it fair for me to make this assumption? Or is there some other appreciation I owe to the government for something else that they did and which I did not do?

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has a stark choice of either increasing government revenue via the goods and services tax (GST) or burdening the country by borrowing more money.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the implementation of GST was necessary as the country risked becoming bankrupt like Greece if it resorted to borrowing.

“We have to find additional sources of income and that’s why we have to implement the GST,” he said at a seminar on Strengthening the National Economy.

He said rating agency Moody’s Investors Service changed their outlook on Malaysia from neutral to positive just weeks after the GST was announced.

“This is because they know Malaysia was taking fiscal consolidation steps which are unpopular but necessary for the good of the country,” he said.

Najib lashed out at the Opposition for their mixed comments about whether they supported the GST and for clouding the issue with unfair arguments, including the high electricity bill of his official residence,

He pointed out Seri Perdana belonged to the people of Malaysia and he was occupying it temporarily just like his two predecessors.

“It has a function room. If a head of state comes, are we expected to dine in the dark?

“If the Chinese premier comes, should we use candlelight and say this is more romantic?” he quipped.

Najib said out of an entire workforce of 14 million, only 1.34 million paid income tax.

“That is just 10% who pay, and there are others who should pay but don’t,” he said.

He pointed out the definition of patriotism is fulfilling one’s responsibility to the country and this included paying taxes.

He added that the public’s expectations on the Government was always increasing, and more revenue is needed to meet these demands.

He said Malaysians cannot always depend on revenue from petroleum which will eventually run out.

Najib said the public’s fear that the GST would cause staggering price increases was unfounded.

He said 160 other countries have implemented the GST and from their experience there is only a slight increase in prices in the year of implementation.

“It is unlikely all these countries made a mistake by implementing the GST,” he said.

there's a highway in Penang called Jelutong Expressway built by IJM.

basically, IJM does a land swap deal with the state to reclaim swamp area in exchange for the highway.
but it takes about 15years for the highway to be built as they built the highway in phases according to the land that they reclaimed.

so basically Penang enjoys free highway.

One free highway. How do we get more of this?

QUOTE(dkk @ Dec 11 2013, 07:40 PM)
One free highway. How do we get more of this?
The government is going to charge high tolls and pocket the profits? Most people are proposing that the government takes over the highways and abolish the tolls. No toll, no income. No income, no profit. Only losses.
Who are you calling idiot? Name calling does not belong here.
*
if PR's goals is not realistic, then they could wind down the "FREE" into something more affordable.
the first step is to reveal what are the revenues, operating costs and profits of these companies
but that would be impossible to happen under our current government.

Well, it's either that or stop spending so much money. Get rid of the subsidies. Shrink the civil service, or put them to work producing products that can be exported, instead of generating red tape.

QUOTE
He said rating agency Moody’s Investors Service changed their outlook on Malaysia from neutral to positive just weeks after the GST was announced.

“This is because they know Malaysia was taking fiscal consolidation steps which are unpopular but necessary for the good of the country,” he said.

I wonder, do the money people favour BN or PR?

QUOTE
“If the Chinese premier comes, should we use candlelight and say this is more romantic?” he quipped.

Najib said out of an entire workforce of 14 million, only 1.34 million paid income tax.

“That is just 10% who pay, and there are others who should pay but don’t,” he said.

He pointed out the definition of patriotism is fulfilling one’s responsibility to the country and this included paying taxes.

The tax base can be increased by reducing the deductions and rebates. The main reason so many people do not pay tax is because of all the deductions and rebates. If we get rid of most of these, most people will have to pay tax.

I sugest that the income tax rate be reduced by 1%, and the two lowest brackets be set at 0.1% and 0.5% (instead of 0%), and most of the deductions and rebates be removed.

QUOTE
He added that the public’s expectations on the Government was always increasing, and more revenue is needed to meet these demands.

Wants are unlimited. The government should be small and efficient. If it is allowed to bloat, much money will be wasted. No matter how much we increase revenue, it will not be enough to pay for all "wants".

QUOTE
He said Malaysians cannot always depend on revenue from petroleum which will eventually run out.

Najib said the public’s fear that the GST would cause staggering price increases was unfounded.

His optimism is entirely unfounded. Of course it will cause inflation. I fail to see why it would not.

QUOTE
He said 160 other countries have implemented the GST and from their experience there is only a slight increase in prices in the year of implementation.

“It is unlikely all these countries made a mistake by implementing the GST,” he said.

We can just increase income tax collection. Currently, our top tax bracket stops at RM100k. That's a pittance. We should have higher rates for higher income earners.

Kita kena ber patriotik dan menerima GST!

If we dont accept GST, our country will be bankrupt! We need GST so that life will continue as it is for the creme of the society, so that the cows will continue to get condos, wives will have the latest birkin bags, so we can afford some new submarines that can actually submerge. Without GST all these will come to an end, how can we survive as a nation then?

But they did mentioned they have every right to increase since it is stated in their contract they can increase a maximum of 50cents for the year 2014. What to do ? If there is a bypass to that tol, then we can still 'boycott' them ..

This are the BN tricks u see.. Before election promise this and that if were given the mandate. After election, price for every single s**t increased, going against whatever they promised before the election. All the money they spend on election, someday has to pay. And, this is the bill.
When the next GE14, I bet they are going to promise the same thing again. Those BN hardcore supporter surely find some excuses for themselves. Thinking that by fooling yourself, you could fool others. Fyi, I am not PR supporter as well, my vote goes to the one actually work for the people not someone who are afraid to go against their bosses in UMNO/MCA. They still not known that we are their ultimate boss!
Back to the toll hike, it is inevitable. There are always some options. By delaying the toll hike, govt has to pay penalty to the highway concessionaire. Why is it they never think of buying over the highway companies? Do not tell me they could not hold the majority shareholdings even they wish to. Govt has one powerful tool called Business License. If they refused to sell their companies, do not renew their license. They will be forced to sell by then. That is how the formation of CIMB bank.. Well, obviously our govt is not smart at all, because smart people wont work for the govt, idiots do!!

And they put the toll agreement under OSA, so that we do not have much to question them when they increase the toll price. Personally I feel they should make the agreement public so that everyone know them are transparent and not look like hiding something. Unfortunately this would not happen.

As shareholder, Selangor to oppose toll hikes for three highways

BY JOSEPH SIPALAN
December 18, 2013

Anwar, who is the state’s economic advisor, said it is well within the state’s right to register its opposition to toll hikes. — AFP picKUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 — The Selangor state government will formally oppose any attempt to raise toll rates on three highways operating in the state in its capacity as a minority shareholder, opposition chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

Anwar, who is the state’s economic advisor, said it is well within the state’s right to register its opposition to toll hikes on the Kesas, Sprint and LDP highways as it has a stake of between 20 and 30 per cent for each development.

“The Selangor government as a minority shareholder has the right to oppose. They may lose, but they can take a strong position to make sure toll rates are not increased easily,” he said at a press conference here.

How come Malaysia charges toll rates for their highways yet the maintenance works are still below par to some countries which doesn't charge toll rates at all for their highways?

The toilet still stinks, no hand wiping tissues, no toilet papers, wet and lousy maintenance?

Where did the money went?

Are we talking about highways or toilets here? Surely, the availibilit (or lack) of hand wipe and toilet papers should not be how we evaluate highways.

You see those MRT they are building everywhere around Klang Valley which target to be operated by 2016, indirectly the fuxking govt. try to force us/change us to be dependable on the public transport for the daily use just like Singapore/HK/Taiwan/Japan/Korea..............that's start from now. By increasing the petrol and tol with massive hike, it may sounds like a plan. What the rakyat has been known, and taught our public transport has always been such a failure, again and again.

Eventhough, Star and Putra Line is average I must say. Below average.

No matter what, I DON'T HAVE FAITH WITH GOVERNMENT, ESPECIALLY AFTER 3 DIRTY of the DIRTIEST ELECTIONS

From Kopitiam........wow!

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3078430/+80

Kenaikan Tol 2014 : Wajar Atau Tidak?

Hakikatnya, apa pilihan kerajaan sekarang?
Please do not comment like this wahai menteri.

Kenaikan Tol LITRAK 2014
Kenaikan Tol 2014 LITRAK
Kenaikan Tol KESAS 2014

Berdasarkan laporan kewangan tahunan PLUS menunjukkan :

1) PLUS

Dimiliki Khazanah & KWSP
Menguruskan 6 lebuhraya di Malaysia iaitu Lebuhraya Utara Selatan, Lebuhraya NKVE, Lebuhraya Elite, Lebuhraya Linkedua, Lebuhraya Butterworth Kulim dan Jambatan Pulau Pinang
Dilalui oleh 417 Juta kenderaan setahun (Tiap-tiap tahun berlaku peningkatan sekurang-kurangnya 8%). Bertambah kenderaan untung kepada PLUS atau tidak? Kami pulangkan jawapan ini kepada anda…
Jumlah Setahun Kutipan Tol : RM4.1 Bilion Setahun
Kos Penyelengaraan 6 Lebuhraya : Hanya RM241 Juta Setahun (6% sahaja daripada nilai kutipan tol)
Kos Gaji, Pentadbiran, Pengiklanan & Lain-lain Lagi : RM397 Juta Setahun
Anggaran Keuntungan Tunai : RM2.955 Bilion
Anggaran Keuntungan Tunai Bersih : RM2.5 Bilion (Sebelum Cukai)
Margin Keuntungan Bersih Sebelum Cukai : 61%

2) KESAS

Berita Semasa merujuk kepada laporan terkini Maybank Investment Bank Research (6 November 2013) yang menganalisasi prestasi kewangan KESAS

Dimiliki GAMUDA
Berjaya mencatat keuntungan berganda sehingga 121%
Maksudnya di sini berdasarkan konsep Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) antara tahun 2008 sehingga 2012, setiap tahun keuntungan yang diperolehi KESAS mencatatkan keuntungan 121%
KESAS mencatatkan peningkatan kehadiran kenderaan 5% setiap tahun (490,000 ribu setiap minggu)

Kenaikan Tol SPRINT 2014

3) LITRAK

Berdasarkan laporan kewangan terkini bagi tahun 2013

Dimiliki Gamuda
Menguruskan lebuhraya SPRINT & LDP
LDP mencatatkan peningkatan kehadiran kenderaan 3.3% setiap tahun (490,000 ribu setiap minggu)
SPRINT mencatatkan peningkatan kehadiran kenderaan 4.4% setiap tahun
Perolehan kutipan tol : RM369 Juta
Jumlah Kos Penyelenggaraan Lebuhraya : RM21 Juta (6%)
Kos Gaji, Pentadbiran & lain-lain : RM29 Juta
Kos Bersih Pembiayaan Kewangan : RM79 Juta
Keuntungan Secara Tunai Tanpa Caj Susut Nilai & lain-lain : RM240 Juta
Keuntungan Bersih Sebelum Cukai : RM180 Juta
Margin Keuntungan Bersih Sebelum Cukai : 49%

4) PROLINTAS

Prolintas – Hakmilik Penuh PNB

Sejarah Maju Expressway modal permulaannya hanya RM60 juta sahaja
Tetapi Lebuhraya Maju Expressway mendapat geran kewangan kerajaan berjumlah RM976.7 juta hingga membolehkan pemegang konsesinya membuat pinjaman kecil sahaja untuk menyiapkan lebuhraya tersebut. Untungnya……..
Lain-Lain Contoh Mengenai Angka Lebuhraya di Malaysia : KLIK SINI
Kenaikan TOL 2014 Naik : Kerajaan VS Syarikat Konsesi VS Rakyat

Actually I don't give a rat's ass over current toll price hikes as it only involved alternative highways this year.

What I'm actually worrying about is next year in 2015, there will be a review for PLUS toll tariff. There's a high percentage it is going to be raised by 2015 onwards. Now that will means the domino effects will reverberated throughout the country in regards of transportation costs of goods & services ... yes, a new price hikes for products & services are looming again in 2015 no thanks to increasing of PLUS toll tariffs.

1st thing 1st lets make things clear , like i have state on another post . In a democracy country , Rakyat is the boss and not the party that govern it . Remember that and remember well.

We work our ass 8 hours a day , 5 days a week (some people even work more than that) , is that not a contribution to help the country ? How dare you say rakyat do nothing .

Do you know even the basic of the economy ? without the contribution of the people from various skill set working on various field within a country , the money you have inside your pocket is just a plain paper without value . the money in your pocket have value because the mass of people appreciate it and accepting it then work hard to contribute to the note value.

The country spend for rakyat ? which country rakyat they spend the money on ? they spend billion on submarine and pay to rakyat in france , they spend million on condo and payable to rakyat in singapore , usa . They buy cincin and which country rakyat get it? malaysian? They steal the cash from us in malaysia and spend and use it outside of malaysia . how does these help the economy if the money spend wasn't cycle back to us rakyat in malaysia ? Tell me. why deficit is more than surplus . Why we need to appreciate it ? if all they do is just exporting our money to another country . suppress rakyat in these country and help rakyat from another country.

just the tax for these dato ''politician'' you said is billion , how much harta he have? how he gain it ? by doing business? what's the company name? what is the company business nature ? You know, only large ,I stress it again LARGE corporation like Toyota , Samsung , Sony , HSBC , Citibank , paid billion in tax . How come malaysia also have such a huge corporation but i never heard of it? and it's own by politician , not business man like tony hernandes / vincent tan.

Problem is, the politicians "think" they (the government) actually spend money to help rakyat. In fact, they have forgotten those are from taxes that we pay.

No it didn't. But this isn't a PR scam. It's a BN scam. First they "leak" this false document that shows the toll going up by so much. Then after much negotiation, the government somehow manages to keep the hike to a much lower level. Of course this is what they had in mind all along.

A man goes to buy a bag in Petaling Street and is so happy that he manages to talk the seller down from RM20 to RM15. Save RM5. Next week, he sees the same bag sold at a supermarket for RM10. doh.gif

The announcement will come a in a few months. smile.gif

Pls dont spread lies bro.

BN manifesto before the GE13 says toll rate in Malaysia will be reduced stage by stage.

Its impossible for BN to go back on their pre-election promise, so I believe the Tol rate will not be increase, and will be reduced as per our widely respected leader's promises.

This makes no sense. I thought RON97 is no longer being subsidized? Why not just remove the price control, and let each station set whatever price they want?

My guess, it has to do with the stability of Petronas finances. In October of last year, petronas will invest USD 35 billion into Canada's LNG industry. However there are concerns about Petronas finances. It is known that the Malaysian government has been calling for more and more money from Petronas. And Petronas adventures in Africa has only been marginally successful. So I am guessing that petrol sale in Malaysia are being used to provide the assurance of financial stability.

I doubt that, gov will do anything to make sure benefit is 90% for them and the balance will give to the people. Even there said that gov not operate because of profit, but "profit" makes gov go around.

They probably know their days in power are numbered so have to rake in more money by increasing almost all things now.

Didn't we hear exactly this thing, BEFORE the last election? I'm afraid the timing of your comment is off by a couple of months. smile.gif

When GE is around the corner, Najib will introduce brim 3.0, super brim 3.5, bla bla bla and so on. And this kind of people will forget, they will vote for BN. Later when BN won the GE and all Barang Naik, they will regret. This same drama will continue over and over. haha. Already can see who will win the next GE.
