Hi guys I'm newbie to photography and plan to indulge into it . Plan to get Nikon d3200. Is there any pros and cons of it? Any technical issue about it? My budget is around 1.5k

Thanks for sharing, its good to know notworthy.gif
But I suppose the damage is already done lol... and I think most people wouldn't like to have to keep on sending their cameras back in for cleaning, though I've read that the issue seemed to go away with time and shutter count hmm.gif
Welcome welcome~
The Nikon D3200 and Nikon D5100 are great choices to start your photography journey with yo  thumbup.gif
Personally I think Nikon still offers the best cameras for beginners, easy to learn, and not too plasticy or cheap-looking  laugh.gif

but i used the search alot and some complain of nikon not as user friendly as canon. need alot of time to do adjustments. and they said the lens are old lens and i need to get new lenses for autofocus for the nikon d3200. is it true? What is autofocus actually mean ?

its referring to the focus motor built into the camera body or lens. old lens do not have the focus motor and if you are using a d3200 which also does not have the focus motor, your camera is not able to focus. all the new lens "G" model has focus motor built in.
*
how about d5100? I read some review saying that d5100 are better dslr compare to d3200 . d3200 have higher MP and also using newer processor. but still d5100 have a better image quality at higher ISO . Really in dilemma right now

c010 is right, entry level DSLR like the D3xxx and D5xxx series do not have internal Autofocus (AF) motors, so they have to rely on the AF motors in lenses to allow autofocus. There's no real need to worry about this since most lenses that you will use in the future have in-built motor... perhaps except the common 50mm F1.8d. No worries man, just get one and shoot first, develop passion!  thumbup.gif

As for D5100 vs D3200, it all depends on whether you need the flippable screen or not nod.gif
If you like to take selfies/couple selfies, then it will be a great feature  laugh.gif

selfies until can see pimples lol.. XD

Currently do u know the price range of those 2 models?

do you really need an UWA lens just for your trip? how often do you travel and how often do you take landscaping photography? if once in a blue moon, i suggest stick to your 18-105. if you really wanna take wide angle photo, try panorama with your 18-105. below picture was taken with 24-70 panaroma.

A58 is SLT isn't it? Which there's a fixed light loss, and normally you would be using your kit lens to start which has really tiny aperture... =X too little light in --> blur/noisy pic tongue.gif
*
But the picture sample comparison is quite good leh for A58.

Wah, sifu has spoken haha  thumbup.gif
I've recommended, and also even purchased a Sony NEX-3N for my friends/sister.. overall its an amazing machine, pretty good for the price.. When I went and have a look at the price of their lenses, wah, damn expensive man T____T
Not sure whether its true for Sony lenses though, probably more decently priced  hmm.gif
*
Right now what i do aware of is the shop that sell Sony products are very limited. In alor setar only 1. Other than that is probably Senheng or Courts or any electronic shops. Normal camera shop they wont bring in Sony camera products.

For lenses I try to search online but very hard to get Sony lenses. Maybe Im still not aware of the terms (shortforms) that is used to show that it fits to Sony body.

Nikon on the other hand can be purchase in some camera shops. There are lots of retail shop that is approved by Nikon to sell their products. Dayumm i hate choices!

No brainer isn't it? When you buy DSLR, you are buying the "system" not just the DSLR.

To be frank, no experience  laugh.gif All the Trans X or X Trans sensors are the same anyways, so don't expect BIG differences.
That's right, you buy DSLR based on the brand itself. Nikon is definitely more mature than Sony for this segment of the market... assuming the SLT is against DSLR.
*

Right now SLT only by Sony right? Nikon dont have SLT right? Which is better ? SLT or DSLR? I read in DPReview about these but cant understand. Hoping u guys can explain in easier way to understand notworthy.gif

DSLR is more matured than any other systems since its around for so long already haha laugh.gif
Apart from specs, ergonomics and design, you should take note of warranty support (Are there any service centres around your area? If yes, which brand's?) and also your friends' brands (If all of your friends are using Canon, it might be better for you to get a Canon since it will be much easier for them to guide you, and also lend you some lenses to try out) icon_rolleyes.gif *Of course, I'm assuming that your friends are not those sell fish types la haha

As for Sony devices (in your previous question), I think most of the time people buy from Sony Centres also, not much options hmm.gif
*
Awesome reply! biggrin.gif
Thanks alot biggrin.gif

Using Sandisk here thumbup.gif
For your DSLR, you can just select any Class10 card, especially if you are interested in doing video  icon_rolleyes.gif

I use Sandisk Extreme or Lexar Professional only  laugh.gif

owh. but i read pny one class 10 not that fast compare to sandisk extreme. sandisk capable of producing a faster memory card haha. pny got in stock at my place also but i think its around 30mb/s or lesser thats why cheaper than the sandisk extreme 45mb/s

I'm not familiar with the performance comparisons laugh.gif
But I suppose in the end it all depends on how much you need and can afford?
Both are good enough for photos and video on a DX camera... but if you intend to upgrade in the future, perhaps it doesn't hurt to get the faster one, provided you are not limited in budget  hmm.gif
*
so far what brand did you tried using and does not fail u?
QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 29 2014, 09:41 PM)
To be frank, it is not just the speed but reliability. The higher end memory cards are usually binned for better performance and reliability. You don't want to store a lot of memories and then memory card fails on you right? ;-)
*
true also. haha.. my area does not have ppl sell sandisk card and i have to go to other places to find it. somemore got BB1M vouchers haha. so the shops i can go is very limited.
