Sold my Tamron 10-24 for landscape ( so sad ) since I rarely managed to go far for landscape nowadays. But now I bought 2nd hand Tamron 90mm Macro (older version) and waiting for delivery.

Do you think this is a good decision? I mean the lens, is it good? I think I cannot spend too much money even on the new VC tamron macro.
*
if you use it always then its good decision. if not then bad lo brows.gif brows.gif

QUOTE(c010 @ Feb 24 2014, 08:13 PM)
personal experience, bought m43 (Lumix GX1 with kit lens, first pro camera) and after a while realized the kit lens were not enough then bought a zoom lens. End up sold the whole set because it no longer satisfy my need. Then bought D5100 with 17-50 Tamron, follow by 85mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8. Guess what, i eventually bought D600 with a 24-70 after few months. Lesson learnt, if you are really into photography, dont waste money on crop sensor lens/body since FF body is now quite affordable. it really makes a lot of difference when comes to low light photography.
*
i also fully agree with this. Budget is we own set one. set higher, few more months lo. very hurry to get started on this money burning time consuming hobby ah? smile.gif

agree with them, no point with beginners to aim straight for the higher end series, unless these beginners already own something and know what they want in their next upgrade, and if they really need ff, no wrong to go for ff though
*
there is a point. everyone wants better performance given by the FX bodies. I would say, if a newbie asks me, I'll say go and get the MOST EXPENSIVE you can afford (you set the budget, 3k, 5k, 10k). Because photography is fun and rewarding. Those who quit it have rather compelling reason (extra ordinary circumstances), and even then FX bodies normally worth slighly more than DX ones used. Also its natural for everyone to want more. "I want more DoF, I want more Bokeh, I want more dynamic range". And many ppl (online) would always say how good and how awesome FX bodies + lens are. True 35mm lah! DX newbies will always want more one la.

I have seen many cases where newbie go from lowest DX then upgrade upgrade upgrade. Whole year. making a lost every time. Finally reach FX. then tell me regret didnt jump a head straight away. Maybe is special case, the fellow anak already besar, job secure, house car also got dy.

So I come to conclusion, set the budget as high as you can and go for it. more buttons more fun ma.. brows.gif
