If you drink, drink less.

If you smoke, smoke less.

If you do neither, now's not the time to start.

Ignore everything above if you're
-Loaded
-Don't care when you die
-But mostly if you're loaded and can afford the habits.

cheers

EDIT:
-ignore that. it's cold and you need a drink
-Sheffield's in Yorkshire I remember and that whole damned place is peppered with different accents and slangs.
-pissed means drunk/wasted. it'll save you the confusion i got.
-catch concerts there. the uk is a more fertile ground for musical acts than malaysia.
-Europe

oic....actually i have another choice to stay in student house which cost about 65pound per week but the contract just giving me to stay until july and not sept which i'll be finish my master. Most of my friend would suggest me to stay in campus first then i can moved out after 1 sem...let me think about that first.

I'm not sure about your accommodation, but the best reason to stay in uni accommodation is the staff coming in to clean the kitchen (not your dishes) and the phat pipe universities usually have.

I believe it's much less messier to deal with too.

As a JPA student, aren't you able to do those 60/40 schemes?

How many time free flight ticket (per year) provided by your scholarship?
What's about the monitor? Did you buy in UK?
Do you think we can use the mobile phone bought in Malaysia in UK?

Thanks.

Mobiles from Malaysia work fine in the UK and vice versa. If you've got enough space bring every bit of electronics you can from Malaysia starting from the most expensive as the 17.5% VAT on electronics here means that despite being of the same price pre-tax, every piece of electronics is bound to cost more.

well, i was told (though i had no proof) that the x-ray machine for the hand luggage has different intensity (?) than the one they use for ur checked-in baggage. i dunno much about x-rays, but after a motherboard and harddrive down, i dont gamble anymore. i avoided all my electronics from going in the cargo.

Yeah there is a chance to fry it although I don't think it's too great. You can also use the manufacturer as a guideline. If one particular brand keeps failing when put in the checked-in cargo then it'll have a tendency to fail in the future.

Hard disks however, should always be carried by hand because you just never know how rough the luggage handlers are.

is it better for me to open HSBC in Malaysia before i come to UK? or better i open HSBC at UK?
*
Yeah as azarimy said, open an account in the UK. You get a chequebook and a Solo debit card (very, very useful).

An advantage of HSBC is that you can withdraw cash in a Malaysian HSBC ATM with a comparatively lucrative exchange rate.
