hm..I think more and more people will opt for US instead of UK for their further education now, considering that RM:USD is quite low now. Not to mention that the pound is still at a crazy high price.

Hey guys, I will be turning 18 only by 6th Oct 2008, whereas some uni terms start at september or early october right? So do I need to appoint a guardian, have my parents sign some forms etc etc? Really confused because so far only Uni of Bath sent me the letter for guardianship and stuff...
P/S: Should I have received a letter by normal mail for an offer made in March 20-something by now? Imperial College gave me conditional offer but haven't heard a peep from them since...Didn't reply my enquiries also... |

Man, i got a B in my maths, so I don't know can go imperial or not. I got scholarship from JPA but don' t know whether I can get into the college itself. How ironic.
Anyway, wondering whether there are free GPS maps available for the UK especially London area, for use in PDA phones? Or are they all usually only available for purchase? |

HEY GUYS URGENTLY NEED TO KNOW:
OK, basically I need to know how much is the postage fee for a letter from UK to Malaysia. Probably using regular post. This is because UCL accomodation requires us to buy an international reply coupon and send it together with the accomodation form so that they can reply. However, the posmalaysia branch at my area dont' sell it (do any branches sell it? and how much?), so the people at the post office asked me to buy a bank draft. But I don't know how much should I buy....Please advise. Thanks. Sigh, should be able to do online la, kononnya technological age. pfft. P.S I know I'm late for the accomodation. |

QUOTE(azarimy @ Aug 15 2008, 06:29 PM) Yea, just papers.. oh RM5+ only? I just went to the post office, for here to send to UK using poslaju, it's RM77....so expensive. But using normal registered post about RM5 also. I think no choice but to use poslaju as this accomodation thing supposed to be sent by 31 MAY if i want to have guranteed place... |

Hey guys, thanks for answering my many questions that I've asked.
Now I need to know whether any of you have stayed for long term at the International Student House in London? I'm asking because there's no more place in UCL student residences...T_T so I'm rushing to apply now since I'll probably be in UK within a month and I don't want to sleep by the road... Anyway, for those who have been there, what are the rental rates like? They didn't state that in the website but asked me to call instead, so I thought I'll ask here since it's free compared to making an international call. Lol. Edit: Ok i found their rates on the website..i didn't look hard enough, but I still want to know how it's like to live there compared to a student hostel by the university? Thanks. Hey guys, just wondeirng I will be turning 18 only this oct 6, but my term starts on the 22nd of september...so when I start, I'll still not be legally an adult yet. Wondering if I need to appoint a guardian or smtg? It's only about 2 weeks though..

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 26 2008, 11:45 PM) act i tot got intake for february but now only know don have..so is my mistake after all..n for this sept intake i got no time for it..n also too rushing..so i think cant make it You can take a gap year if you want to, manye people don't have that opportunity. In fact, I am thinking of taking a gap year also...now it's just too rush with all the visa and crap, eventhough i applied for this years intake, don't know whether i can make in in time. When you take a year off, you can go for cooking class, guitar lesson etc which would be good if you are staying alone next time...cause this is the only time that you will be able to have so much free time already, at least until you're retired at 50+years old...Nizadi: thanks for the site. Not really what I'm looking for though. Looking for some short term accommodation e.g. hostels in London to stay in while I look for more permament ones. Thanks again. |
