If got chance, pls do so get the Lloyds bank.. They give VISA debit card for me and it's very useful compare with those solo card... I can do lots of stuff on VISA but not on SOLO.. but better dun get those cash card.. even worse..

Internet banking... I heard natwest charge when dealing in internet banking on natwest.. crazy.. I use HSBC internet banking and it's quite easy ... Lloyds also not bad...

Phone contract.. get O2 contract.. so you can use the free minutes to call back Malaysia landlines or mobile phones for free.. Da number ?

Now 0870/0844 all same. Just use 0844 to call weekdays and weekends as well. If you use public phones, just use 0844 because it's more cheaper.. 0870 charges more..

Last time when i wana join Barclays, they wan to deposit 1000 Pounds. Less than that need 2 pay 5 Pounds per month. When I'm using HSBC international student, I do not charge any in any month. I have to ask my brother since he just open an HSBC international account last 2 months. Let u know later..

About O2, if you get some UK Chinese newpapers, they offering a lots of telephone numbers to call back Malaysia, China for free using the free minutes on O2 or pay little money on public phones.. So O2 won't introduce this, benefits for us and tell Vodafone to say bye bye to them. lol.. Orange network seem also can call but still yet to be confirm ... Better stick with O2..

Phone bills, better deal with Direct Debit.. if not have to pay extra administration charges.. Charge here charge there.. Expensive nia...

Lol, my living expenses is bit different.. on the mobile phones.. as i stay in Plymouth.

rental-53 GBP per week (everything including broadband)
mobile phone-around 50+ GBP per month ( 2 O2 contract )
food-50 GBP per month ( save if u work on Chinese take away )
entertainment - Varies ( mostly buy stuff in ebay, haha )

Get da National Express Nx2 Coach Card as well.. If u like travel on Bus..

Food expenses actually can reduce more lo if u work on those Chinese shops..

Mostly this will work during the night.. so b4 you work, u got one meal to eat, then after finish work get another meal.. This depends on the boss ...

I usually work on the chinese take away shop.. so get one meal b4 working ( b4 5pm ) and get another one after work. ( 12 midnite - u can save it for breakfast the next day.. ) Wee!!!

This is the part time job... Free meal lo... save ur money to buy and save ur time to do da meal.. how about that?? Dun say you are poor student, even rich student also da same.. We all lazy to cook and hard to cook yummy food..

wah.. watching movie in UK cinema is very expensive... so try watch in Malaysia puas puas.. One person is 6 pounds +-.. but I know every wednesday if u use Orange Network can get buy 1 get 1 free ticket promotion..

Yup.. aim your target first.. The Aim is too study and get good score at there.. Not getting jobs... That's just part time job after you have feeling study time is alrite wit you.. I had a hard time but now i have graduated and happy about my result. Of course I can't get First Class Honors for my degree but at least i can cope myself surviving in the UK..

If you wan to work like Chinese restaurant, try to speak english and cantonese more fluently.. Mandarin is second... Most boss are from Hong Kong and they speak Cantonese than Mandarin or English.. English is when you chat with the customer.. So .. jus give u some hint for that.. But for me I won't do those waiter job... Very tired ... Each night can earn from 20 - 35 pounds depends on location and the business.. Work 4 days you can earn 100 Pounds and this is enough for weekly expenses..

Not washing plates.. I do take telephone or meal orders... Actually that's a gal job, but they say my talking is more polite than da gals... so I do those stuff.. Just talk talk talk.. Like Customer service type lo..

Printers... Imagine u buy 1 orignal Canon black ink cause RM20.. in UK original black ink cost 13 Pounds = 3-4 times expensive... So I suggest get from Malaysia for the ink.. no matter on 3rd party as well... INK are very expensive.. Printer ah... hmmmm... price still resonable... but if u think wana bring it, better ask your parents to send by poslaju once you have arrive and settle ur accomodation.. So.. it's up to you.. Check the price in UK then u can compare wit Malaysia..

Oh ya forgot to say.. normally in uni print or photostat a piece is about 5 pence ( 5 sen ). Some uni offer free printing.. just bring white paper and print print print. but you have to ask ur senior.. Some will know about that..
