If I were to study Law in King's College London, is RM 500k sufficient for 3 years of tuition fees and living expenses. Could experienced students tell me about the estimate cost to study and live in London?

I will be doing law in King's College London this coming sept 2008. I am just wondering, is it worth it to spend about 500K on such education? Is it possible to get employed by top companies in UK after I graduated from King's and earn back this amount that I've payed for?

QUOTE(feynman @ Apr 1 2008, 08:48 AM) Very difficult to say. If you get it, you get it, fame and fortune will be yours. If you don't, then you have to come back. There are people who got it, there are people who couldn't, so if your parents are fine with spending RM500k, by all means, go to london and spend the best years of your life there. Otherwise, look for cheaper alternatives elsewhere. Feynman, since this is the case, is it possible to spend less than 500K in London, as in for 3 years of law degree? I actually got offers from University of Bristol and University of Warwick for law. Cost wise and its worth for money : should I go to Warwick instead of King's?This post has been edited by awesomeming: Apr 1 2008, 08:54 AM |

QUOTE(youngkies @ Apr 1 2008, 08:45 PM) you will get back the 500k quite comfortable as long as you can earn at least 22k and above per annum. Thanks for the enlightenment youngkies. However, is it possible to secure a decent job (i.e. a corporate company) as a legal adviser since employment in a top law firm is so hard in the UK? Or, generally speaking, is it even possible for me as a King's graduate to secure a decent job upon graduation?but to get employment in law firm (even a decent, not so top companies) as foreigner is the most difficult part. |

QUOTE(kiradesu @ Apr 4 2008, 05:58 AM) You should be fine. KCL's very highly regarded. Since you're talking about firms I suppose you want to be a solicitor instead of a barrister. I think if you get good grades in your LLB (preferably a 2:1) you'll probably be able to work for a pretty good firm. I don't think getting into the LPC is that difficult either cos all of my friends who applied got in. Thank you for all the prompt replies. I guess it's all about how I utilize my opportunities when I am in the UK. |

hi guys,
I'm wondering whether it is possible for an international student to secure some kind of sponsorship from UK organizations/companies to fund my studies in the UK. |
