hey guys, was wondering, i'll be applying for my ucas (medicine ) very soon, im in a dilemma now on which universities to choose.

I'm definitely applying to manchester and aberdeen. any more recommendations (outside london) of universities?

How would bristol sound, in terms of cost of living too, and another would be Hull, i was told has very cheap cost of living.

well thanks for your help guys.

perhaps u wanna refer to this, but then, i cant be sure how reliable the ranking is smile.gif

Guardian Unlimited

btw, is it very hard to transfer from a uni to another? i actually hav a close relative in london but if i do not meet the requirements of my firm choice, i'm afraid that i hav to go southampton. any opinions about the university of southampton? i've tried the search engine for southampton, but surprisingly there's no results related to it, i used to think that southampton university is quite popular..

What are the requirements?

AAA for city university/cass business school, southampton ABB

lol, careful not to confuse between popularity and how good they actually are.  some of my friends went to manchester for the sole reason of manchester united. it just so happen that univ of manchester is actually very good, but they didnt know about that before applying biggrin.gif.

i'm not saying soton is not good though, just dont confuse urself wink.gif

i un smile.gif haha! i hav a fren choosing manchaster bcoz of manchaster united too! hmm.. anyway, i actually prefer to go london bcoz my parents can save up on the accomodation fees, but living in southampton isn't too expensive, but just in case if i'm not happy in my 1st year, is it vv hard to transfer to another uni? is the procedure complicated?

QUOTE(youngkies @ Sep 9 2008, 04:32 PM)
dont worry. they wont look for medical report. they dont look at the x-ray for detail as well, they just want you to have it, in case they want to look into it.
Thanks for your replies! biggrin.gif

If I want to open a bank account at Lloyds, what are the necessary documents that I should have? Money of course tongue.gif which is a bank draft addressed to me, passport, anything else?

I have an auntie in UK and she told me that I should bring 6 months bank statements of all my bank account here as well as a letter from the bank (erm I don't really understand what the letter should be about, something like confirming that I'm their customer etc) which sounds complicated so I would like to confirm here. Please enlighten me on this matter, thanks!

- passport
- proof of address
- university acceptance letter
- bank letter (if the bank require it and your uni does provide it). a bank letter is a letter from your uni to your bank stating that you are their student with an home address on it and relevant detail.

money is compulsory.  biggrin.gif

If I need the university acceptance letter, does it mean that I can only open a bank account after I've registered in uni? I think the offer letter is not the acceptance letter right? Correct me if I'm wrong. My university induction week starts only a week after I arrive and I read from their website and letter that registration only starts on the first day of induction week..

acceptance letter can be the offer letter. that is why some banks want the so called bank letter in addition, to show that you are already there, ready to be enrolled, as you can only get it from the uni during the induction week.

By the way, just a random question: where can I get kaya in London? I'm still at home right now but I can imagine myself craving for toasted bread with thick kaya spread and cheese slice. Hmm..
