my next trip there 20 kilo breakdown. 10kg Milo 10kg shirts , jeans , etc for banking i use just Natwest , can easily transfer from msian bank if u're low on cash. HSBC takes 1-2 months to apply and is very troublesome for international students. This post has been edited by Smy: Aug 15 2006, 05:39 PM

3000 pounds should be able to cover your expenses if you cook occasionally along with a healthy dose of entertainment ( pub , clubbing , shopping , travelling , ebaying ).
For mobile phones , purchase them online as they are cheaper, but must remember to fill in the cashback forms every 4 months. Just ignore the 3 years address part, tick yes and u will be allowed through the security check but u may have to pay a 50 pounds refundable deposit.
www.e2save.com has occasional clearance sales for free contract + handphones and is handled by carphonewarehouse ( biggest phonestore in UK ).

I took a 17" via hand luggage before but had to unscrew the monitor stand so that it can fit. Its very troublesome but may well be worth the effort since LCD's are EXTREMELY expensive in the UK. As for casing, I buy and throw a cheap one everytime I go there. My next trip, I'm bringing mobo/hdd/gcard only... have to make space for more milo Are any of you guys on mobile phone cashback deals ? I've had one with mobileshop.com and it was really difficult to claim. Wondering if e2save, dialaphone etc would be more realiable. Do share your experiences.

QUOTE(darkhorse_86 @ May 22 2008, 10:54 PM) I thought tesco and sainsbury have milo? from kenya though. Yep, but the taste is vastly different from the milo from msia. The milo in UK tastes milky, not chocolaty.
