I am leaving to London, Hendon on Sept to further my degree program at Middlesex University, anyone lived around that area?
Few questions,
1. Where can I head over to if I fall sick unfortunately?
2. Do I need a bank account in order to obtain a National Insurance Number?
3. What is the phone number of NI center so I could make an appointment with them.
4. What kind of public transport I could take from Hendon to the NI center?
Thank you for replying.

QUOTE(youngkies @ Aug 2 2008, 05:07 PM) havent experienced such thing. usually get the bill promptly on date. redemption period usually is within 28 days, and your bill wont usually get be posted after 28 days. if u havent got it 5 days later than you suppose to, just give them a call and ask for re-send. not necessary. when you open a current account in uk, you will also get a debit card, which is enough for any kind of transaction. Hi youngkies, you mentioned current account in your previous reply, so I assume a saving account doesn't issue debit card right?

QUOTE(azarimy @ Aug 5 2008, 08:13 PM) savings account issue a debit card as well. i have both current n savings, and i have 1 card for each. Which bank do you register for a saving/current account? Just to make sure, are there any differences between UK's current account and local one? Why current not saving? This post has been edited by Lordz`: Aug 7 2008, 02:05 AM

QUOTE(BlueWind @ Aug 6 2008, 11:00 AM) I couldn't believe it, my sister's visa application rejected twice and it's less than a month she will be flying to UK. First time they rejected because the money wasn't there, but the document for the loans and stuff are pretty much ready just waiting for the money to be transfered. Ok fine, now we got the money but this time they said the money is not in her bank account, and it is in my father's bank account. WTF is this man. A two pence mate. Applying for a visa requires a lot of preparation and a bit of luck, you can't rush to be honest. Sometimes the questions in the form doesn't make sense at all. From your case you need to state that your parents are her main sponsor to UK, write a confirmation letter or whatever it calls and sign by them. Take note that all the documents need to be certified by whoever it concern, photocopy and get a seal from them, even SPM/College results as well, it might sound stupid but you wouldn't like to get rejected thrice in a row.

It is very hard to define 'enough' when you are applying for a UK visa, I suggest provide everything you have in hand.
