Not for a reputable developer

Aiyoo, not all things are about just DIBS or not. Its about a confidence in a new developer that renegades on its promise so early on and more importantly, 4% discount aint equal to 4 years DIBS. In other words, the developer suddenly tells all buyers the price is about 2-3% higher.

If Ekosky gives back equal amount discount for lieu of DIBS, the drop outs will be lower.

Its like if you go to restaurant and order food based on price on menu, but later bill charge you higher than on menu.

DIBS was announced with the product launch. They knew about the plans to stop dibs even before that. And as a developer that is planning for big things, why do a blunder and launch before advert permit given? Sure, many deelopers take that risk and do this. but if they cannot deliver what they promise, then they risk their reputation. The big reputable ones dont wanna risk this. And all the big adverts, radio, newspaper advert. This was a BIG launch marketing. With DIBS announced. Now they unilaterally say sorry, no DIBS, but you get 4% more. Take it or leave it.

And if you order Lou foo pan at a restaurant, they tell you how much is the price/100g and you ask them to show you the swimming fish they take from tank and weigh it. YOU KNOW the exact price. And this doesn't change with the bill. If it does, you happy ah?

It really leaves a sour taste to all(sorry, evidently not all) buyers. And this is still a NEW developer whatever the background.

While this is just a sour point and does not reflect the investability of the project, I think it caused a lot of unhappiness for buyers.
Face it, if the given discount is great, are you still gonna have people complaining? Fact is there are people unhappy with this and it indirectly affects the project and reputation of the developer, no matter how good/bad the project really is.

But I know some of the the ekosky people read the forum. If they understand how frustrated buyers are, they might do something more. Everyone's gotta tell them like it is. Every but helps.
