can explain more how you cant launch the camera in lock screen?

Open the camera app and go onto the settings and enable Quick Launch see if that do the trick

if cannot
then did you fresh install new roms? or like mafioso said, reformat

If so, I would recommend go into recovery, and wipe all to see if that did the trick

then you just turned off the quick launch in the camera app
go to camera > menu (3 vertical dot) > setting (hammer/screwdriver) > quick launch

1. Auto of means you have to turn back on, all the sony logo, the wavy thing and re-enter sim unlock code

the unit just seems like didnt turn on after press the power button, and require you to press several time before the display turn on again?


usually for 1st case is to try repair the phone with PC companion software (wipe all data) to see if that solve the issue

as for the 2nd case, it seems to me, is normal, just have to be patient with the 1st press. Then is not press another two time to turn the display on again. This issue is present in the first few revision of the updates, should be solve after the latest one. Mine still seems to have the lag after power button press sometimes

One of few of your app have something call airpush
It will seems like coming in from nowhere

Use the app to detect which one has it
And uninstall to remove the problem

the problem with this phone is that the design causes too much heat

case point,

I use the phone as a car camera recorder

By setting the background recording, the display is turn off, thus saving more batt
the phone is always connected to a powerbank @1A
because the location of the phone on my dashboard is away from the aircon holes, and sometimes directly under the sun sometimes, the phone does heat up
and when heat up the charging slows down or halted
I have to make a deflection from the aircon hole to the phone to cool it down and thus the charging resume


case point 2
I use the phone mainly for browsing, and on wifi, the phone does heat up
I did use a heatsink to cool the back, and this somewhat helps
(but not fun holding a block of copper to the phones back)
even when the charger is able to go 1.5A, whenever the phone heats too much the charging stops
this is normal for the safety of the unit

one way to alleviate the problem is to use a modified firmware with a processor speed control, like existenz version
this helps cause at even @ fixed 385Mhz the phone is still usable to browse and run games such as The Simpson Tapped out (normal speed 384~1512Mhz)
At this low speed, the heat generation as well as power used is lower, thus the charging can resume while in use
even more extreme is to use firmwares with modified kernel (unlocking bootloader required)
and to set low voltage to certain speeds
some people are even able to get 7 hrs of screen on time with these kind of mods


TLDR : Control the heat, you can control batt charging and life

what you have there is the polyamide frame cracked

And afaik
any company cannot honour this as manufacturing defect
they will see this as user issue

you can try to say your innocents
but i can bet on them saying, this is cause by mis-use

and to change the frame, is virtually take the whole unit apart and put back in to another frame,
which I dont see being cheap

Here's what i found

different cable warrant different charges

This can be seen on Samsung galaxy with the galaxy charging app installed

Tested on Note 2
Sony Ori cable + Sony 1.5A Charger = ~900mA
Sony Ori cable + Samsung 2A Charger = ~1800mA
Samsung ori cable + Samsung 2A Charger = ~1200mA (cable might be problem already)
Sony Ori cable + YooBao YB637 1A = 1100mA
Cheap 2 meter flat cable + Sony 1.5A charger = no charge or sometimes 300mA
Cheap 2 meter flat cable + YooBao YB637 1A = No charge

so get an ori thick cable from whichever manufacturer

USB 2.0 is @ 500mA to start registering charges
too low the phone might not let it charge
USB 3.0 can supply up to 900mA charges

try change the cable and see
borrow from your fren see if it helps

I already broken 2 cable
(granted one is chaplang cable, another is yoobao ori cable)

but the point is
cable is the main culprit of most charging problem
as they are soft and pliable, thus easy to be damaged

Try the vol up + power button with the power connected

wait till it vibrates 3 time then see if that work

if it works, let it charge first before turning on

Well yesterday I did rundown the phone to Auto shutdown

Tried the Power+Vol up without charging, no vibrate
connect power and tried again immediately also no vibrate

then let it have sometime, then the phone lit up

maybe it is a safety feature as Li battery is dangerous if you discharge too much
and the charging requires some time to get the phone back up

Got my order in from Lyn garage seller

2x Sony original cable
1x Samsung original charger + cable
Free 1x OTG cable

Test test test galore.
Did some test with some different cable and charger setup
Sadly cannot do with the Z as it lack the charging ampere monitoring capabilities
So the test is done with a Galaxy Note 2 and the galaxy charging app

1. Sony 1.5A charger + Sony original cable. - 1200mA
2. Sony 1.5A charger + Samsung original cable. - 1200mA
3. Samsung 2A charger + Sony original cable. - 1800mA
4. Samsung 2A charger + Samsung original cable. -1800mA
5. Sony 1.5A charger + 3rd party flat type cable. - no charge ~ 290mA
6. Samsung 2A charger + 3rd party flat type cable. - 600mA

Also tested a Samsung original cable come together with the note2 that have problem, can only charge at 600mA using the 2A charger

So my guess with the charging problem is alway themail easiest to break, the cable
So get an original cable, to get the optimum?charge
Plus take care if the cable
Add a spring to the base of the head to prevent over bending and breaking the internal wires



Also don't be such a neat freak
Store the cable naturally and not try to pack it into a small loop
As doing so add strain to the cable it self
