NO - if you choose factory reset via phone setting without tick the erase internal data storage.
YES - if you decide to tick erase internal data storage during factory reset via phone setting. This process take some times and stopping at SONY logo when phone reboot, this is not hang, give it sometimes, around 5 to 10 mins.

It is advisable do a FACTORY RESET when firmware update jump from A to B for gaining back the suppose smoothness.
Factory Reset is a must! after installing the ROM, or else you will still facing Honami Camera FC from time to time & widget lockscreen not working.
Why this Honami Port is Great!:
No more upstop popping FC in Honami Camera nor-matter you open the camera from where, how many times you switch between Auto Superior and others mode. It is extreme stable without any single FC appear in all available mode. FC only happen if you change the focus mode at Manual mode, the focus mode only work in one mode - touch focus.
The camera is ok, still better than older 4.1.2 version of .434 ROM but it definitely not better than 4.2.2 version of .423 ROM. The output is not consistence and SCN mode is missing from photo part, which means no manual select of Night Portrait is capable. SCN mode only available in Video now.

This is the most complete port, include all the Honami color and working in every change of keyboard and contact color selection. Also now the app drawer semi transparent is act correctly as it suppose, look much nicer now.
Also, extra add-on cool Android 4.3 stock camera with support of Photosphere.
The only not working is Sound effects at Settings - Sound, also Honami camera will FC in superior auto when enable force GPU in development options.

so far my zl didn't cause any probs although already dropped once battery life still superb. 2 days of normal usage(call,chatting n light fb usage) guess ur battery dead already. try to send for warranty
i cant use ion now..i heavy user and do a lot multitasking in phone..1gb ram is not enough..even change rom or what ever..still not enough.. i need a 2GB

Look a like..physical 99%...inside not all function same with ori....got air gesture ..but no eye sensor..spec phone also not same with ori...small internal low ram line suck..etc...but got quad procesor.. What i see 1on1 with korea set is xperia C..both spec same..

Nothing can do..normal use ok la...for me around 1day.. If keep play the phone surfing or games non stop... Around 4 hour...power bank should bring all the time lolz.

you can go to plaza berjaya service centre, they can replace it with cost RM35 per flap

check through the BE2 and trackid?!.. and stock rom without root.. then go service menu check the bootloader status as well..

Hey Adnan,
You can change the flaps at Sony Service Centre. It is located besides Times Square building. It normally operates during office hour but some of forumers here told us it extended its service hour on Saturday. I wish you good luck with your quest.
If you lucky then you can get new replacement set.
If no lucky then they will tell you they will repair for you and you have to wait.
Documents you can ask them the service report and they will give you. Inside the service report got all the things stated that you need.
One of my Ex Office Staff managed to get new replacement set due motherboard and battery problem. They never give anything any document to him but they did cancel the Old Imei No in Warranty Card, wrote new set Imei no and endorsed with Ixsun Chop. They said to him that this already valid enough to claim further as warranty period still in force and he can give bring in for warranty if there is any issue on the set in future.

What's the con? Well, my phone recently damaged by water. And I traveling by boat a lot. Seems a good feature for me. But ironically, my note 2 gets splashed by my shower bath in bath room. It's mean I can take care of my phone while traveling but not at home.

the con, in a way is if you don't have the charging dock, you will have to open close the flap for charging. also the sound quality is a bit low, due to the waterproofing of the phone. i can only think this much so far, but i hope you understand the cons. if you travel by boat a lot, i then Z is suitable for you.

Sound not important to me because I headphone guy. Now I wish my Note 2 speaker is damaged instead of cam. But the flap is durable or not? Because if it's not durable, better take ZL, plus ZL are way cheaper....

IRDA is Infra red sensor and this sensor can controll you house TV for example. Its makes your phone act as a remote control.
Anyone ever compare real life situation for battery life, Z vs S4? S4 really disappointed me.
Buy Xperia Z better in terms of battery. The reason why S4 battery performance not there because the phone pack with huge hardware that produce great performance that eats up battery alot. Etc :- Processor and Graphic.
If S4 battery were 3000 Mah then its acceptable.

What's the con? Well, my phone recently damaged by water. And I traveling by boat a lot. Seems a good feature for me. But ironically, my note 2 gets splashed by my shower bath in bath room. It's mean I can take care of my phone while traveling but not at home.

Xperia ZL new set is 1250 to RM 1350
LG G2 wins ZL in performance, graphic, battery and many more. But if compare to Z1 then Z1 wins alot.

I think Xperia Z is not suitable to you because the flaps is fragile and easily break if you accidentally pull it hard. The flaps connector white strips is only 2mm and its very thin. So if the flaps break you said before it will be a deal breaker for you.
If flaps already been a deal breaker for you then about the phone front and back glass. You said you will take care of your phone when you travel but not at home. So if you accidentally drop your phone even at home at a right angle correctly there goes your phone front and back glass it will break. The cost of replacement is RM 900 above it i am not mistaken. ( The glass on Xperia Z have few weak points and if it`s drop ngam ngam on the correct point the glass will break )
After that you said you like to play game when you bombing in toilet. So i considered you are an android gamer and you will download games on your Xperia Z phone for example. Do you know that for Xperia Z easily get hot when you play games on that phone. From there the heat will be a issue of loosing the phone water proof feature because when the excessive of heat on the phone it will make the back glass of the phone being lifted up and you will not notice and when you dunk your phone into the water then when the glass lifted up then the water will enter the phone. After that you will have a good trip to service center hehe.
Like me i just play normal Castle Clash my Xperia Z can reach 48 °C and it make me shock. Now even my phone back plate got lift up abit already. Next week i am going Service Center and repair it or see lucky go claim new.
I recommend Xperia ZL because those problem above wont happen and ZL spare parts is cheap if anything happen to your phone. ZL can play games better then Xperia Z and you don`t need to scare the heat of the phone make the behind glass lifted because ZL no glass hehe and its very secure.

I don`t have Z1 yet and i am not sure weather when buy Z1 does it comes with the dock. Actually the dock is to help you to charge the phone without opening the flaps when you need to charge your phone.
Just google it either Sony Xperia Z1 dock or Sony Xperia Z1 magnetic cable.

what he said is true. other than that i experience stronger cell reception with ZL compared to Note 2. Other disadvantageous migrating from note 2 is the screen contrast. Albeit the 720p display on Note 2, it has brighter and color rich compared to ZL when compared side by side. But once the photos are uploaded in the PC, ZL wins just a notch with sharpness. Just saying the TFT display disadvantageous compare to Note 2 AMOLED.
Real world experience there has not much difference compared to Note 2. I feel the Note 2 (rooted 4.3) is a tad snappier than ZL (most probably OS wise). Once both get android 4.4 then can compare on a level plane.
So far i have been happy with ZL, due to the strong cell, speed and compact form factor. Awesome phone for those who Ingress. LOL.

You cant see BE2 kicking in normal menu or apps. You can see the changes of BE2 kicking in album, movies, browsing internet, YouTube and those things that related to text rendering, flash, GIF, Graphic, Pictures, Videos and Animation.

At phone display sometimes i very respect Samsung they can make the colour super vibrant like korean girls plastic surgery.
Like Samsung Galaxy Note 3 play SNSD MV in 2560p resolutions with those crazy colours really the mind can blow off. Its like you were in SNSD world. Cant resist those temptation.

Stamina mode only kick in when your phone goes into sleep mode. It sort of put all your apps into deep sleep when your screen is off. Since you are playing music, meaning your phone is not in sleep mode, I don't think the stamina mode will kick in.

z1 have oversaturated colour cos of the x-reality engine. some may actually like it. i myself have switch it off cos i too find it oversaturated when switched on.

My Xperia S took 1 week for screen replacement due to the yellow tint issue back in March. I think it depends on the phone issue.

Minor issue 1 to 2 weeks. Major issue 2 weeks to 1 Month.
1 Month is the max and if they still can`t settle your phone then either they pay full refund or exchange new units.

That time you should ask them to refund you. Go there act nice nice then bising bising abit make them scare then they will surely use alternative solution to solve your problem.
The best is the counter serve you is a lady then easy to convince them.

Minor issue 1 to 2 weeks. Major issue 2 weeks to 1 Month.

Has anyone ever sent their xz to repair or replace the back cover after it pops up slightly possibly due to the phone's internal heat? I bought my xz on launch day. Recently notices the top of the back cover was slightly popped up. I pushed it back in and a month later noticed it popped up back a little. I believe this is claim able under warranty. Has anyone ever sent their xz to repair or replace the back cover after it pops up slightly possibly due to the phone's internal heat? I bought my xz on launch day. Recently notices the top of the back cover was slightly popped up. I pushed it back in and a month later noticed it popped up back a little. I believe this is claim able under warranty. Anyone here had a similar issue? Worried my phone not water resistant now.
This is the infamous back panel problem. Yes warranty will cover it.

i see, i used these font changer apps on the playstore, my phone got bricked but when i flash these, it doesnt.. plus i find it better becuz it changes everything (including the bold ones and some others)

hi same here.. i'v sent my zl to semc and i called them and they said the repair is done and await my dealer to collect the phone... mine is battery problem .... i think ur zl has the same problem too??? many of the zl user face the same problem..... it took almost 1 month fo rthe sc to repair the phone... some may took up to 2 moths.. so be patient...

but i wouldnt recommend to unlock for now.. it has bugs (both sweep2wake and tap2wake)
i unlocked BL just to try this feature (time over time) everytime they release a new update, i unlock just to see if its stable already or not.. but turns out still buggy.
the screen will:

haha, me too im hoping that the doubletap2wake will mature overtime.. right now its just too buggy.. not advisable for daily use..

yeap.. surprisingly after i jumped to Z
i used AOSP awhile.. but end up going back to stock.. there's something about sony roms that makes me duwan to change
tho now quite eager to try 4.4, but i checked all the threads.. most of them are still buggy each rom got their own problems and they are quite major
- 1 cannot sync with google backup - 1 got battery drain - cannot videoplayback so on..
so no point.

make sure you BACKUP your TA Partition, its only ONCE and if you didnt backup, its gone forever.
if you flash someone else's TA Partition = maximum damage, phone totally gone.

are you sure no neeed to reflash?? Doomlord instruction said need to reflash to older 10.3.A.0.423 (that is rootable)..?
for precaution. just reflash to be safe. but if you wanna try without reflash just go on. just remember standard disclaimer applied. ain't nobody responsible if your phone bricked or suddenly became invincible and you can't find it.

kernel is kernel.. wont affect anything (as long as its for the correct firmware version)

hmm.. night portrait was still awful due to limitation of light and small sensor in smartphone.. but in smartphone area, consider really not bad ady..
if compact with high end DC, my friends Olympus EPL 3rd edition, cannot fight in details at night.. Nikon D7000 also much better in prosessing.. haha but i just try to find out the real potential of photos.. i think almost maximum output from smartphone sensor.. maybe Z1 can perform better..
hopefully in future, smartphone can control shutter speed and iso together.. then we can perform better picture output

My previous SGW can lock up with the satellites even in my living room or while walking. Is there any setting that can make it lock up faster?

Hopes 4.3 updates comes with fix updates. Alot of things in Xperia Z and ZL has to be fix. Etc when calling suddenly got weird noise come out, music even good quality also speaker cant perform well, GPS takes very long to connect to get signal, camera quite alot of noise in picture, weak battery performance sometimes, and many more.

don't try take low light condition with hdr mode. hdr specially for correct the backlight. hdr very tricky. u need stable background. tripod. and can't move anything. Cox it's combine 2-3 picture in it with diff exposure to get the best outcome.
if normal backlight I suggest turn it on. if strong backlight, better go normal mode increase the exposure.

Wats wrong with your zl? My zl can lock up with the satellite in just few seconds...

I think most probably the line its self.im using zl can lock fast on 3g.but if signal 2g n below,takes time...im always travelling n when reach low signal,waze delay to update... Im using maxis.

becuz if you unlocked your BL and you didnt backup your TA partition before you unlock.. those features are pretty much byebye including your bravia engine 2.
and you cannot restore other ppl's TA partition or else your phone can RIP already..

1. open facebook app 2. screenshot your newsfeed (make sure bluebar is on top) 3. open that pic in "Album" app 4. wait about 5 seconds.. if that bluebar becomes normal blue (aka a different blue) instead of facebook blue = then BE2 is still there 5. if after 5 seconds and that blue bar is still facebook blue then your BE2 engine is not there.. means the technician unlocked BL and maybe never restore or anything.
6. try to troubleshoot, see if BE2 is ticked under Settings -> Display, compare both on/off, see the same screenshot picture can liao

nono.. i mean smartphone cant fight with standard DC and DSLR during night shoot.. coz there is the limitation of smartphone lens sensor..
im using stock camera apps only.. im using ZL in fw.67.. tonight was still went to capture night scene only.. will post the outcome later..
tonight just try to capture night scene with 1 of my friend.. the person in photo is ME.. lol

i install monxdified honami and existenz ultra roms . the card works fine on computer. tried on 4gb and 32gb, still cant detect. both rom cant detect SD card. anyone know how to solve it ?

just to ask here, how would you guys clean your camera lens on the back on the phone? i 'm thinking of wipe it using tissue paper but i'm afraid of this will scratch the lens.
don't use tissue. use cleaning tools like remove dust from spectacles 1. clean it better before photo shooting.

wow hi for android 4.3 Is simply awesome... Will we get android kitkat after 4.3?

even i got high speed internet here, but still very stable in 1mbps downloading only.. but left 1 hour anymore.. backing up my data and file.. feel want to test the 4.3 version first before the officially version come..

cant wait for the official release from SUS and a proper way to root from doomlord.
what i can say right now is brilliant.. camera superior auto fixed on 9MP only.
Burst mode with long press was fixed on 9MP as well in superior auto.. same in high speed or standard speed, 9MP.
Manual mode.. can set scene, 13mp and others as well.. cant burst mode in manual mode.. what's a good thing for me here is u can choose turn on LED as torch when capture photo. and self time set 10s,2s wont automatically turn off after 1 capture..
performance indeed can see the smoothness

After some time of playing around on my ZL 4.3 build, here is what i want to conclude here:
1. Advantages/Improvement -Option to add One-hand typing - Camera features like Z1 in 4.2.2, which got AR effects, MotionShot, Social Live and others. - Camera burst shot increase the resolution in high speed. Previous is around 1MP now is on 9MP. which is great. - Small apps can be open several apps at the same time. - Theme can be additional download in playstore. - Brightness toggle now is appear in bar mode. Can increase/decrease by own preference. Previous if press it, will only get 100% or 25% brightness. If need set 50% need enter settings and adjust - Manual mode seems improve quality of photo. Not so significant photo processing in my attempts.. Superior auto and scene mode was still processing the photo and make it grainier.. - Self timer in camera settings will present the options once u choose. E.g. Set 10 seconds for self capture, after capture was still 10 seconds on next capture.. no need always reset again.. - Performance in overall seems smooth.. not much complaints.. I won't do benchmarks, coz i doesn't believe it in real practices.. just wont lag.. Temporary all function are works nicely.. - Photo widgets changed newer.

what do you mean by that?
as in those things we do with our gmail account wont be backed up? like installing apps, google keep, etc?
and for the brightness toggle/bar mode.. do you mean its like samsung's can just drag left/right? or still must tap then an overlay box will appear?

B4 i bought this phone..already compare with z1.. I choose xz ..cause thin...z1 to bulk for me and heavy abit.. For camera..less use..so dont care as long we can see the pic.. For spec z1 is better...but xz spec already overkill for me.. Never feel lag or hang when play games and surfing etc.. Only i hate is battery drain so fast..
A bit battery hogging I think. Unplugged it from wall charger around 7:30AM. Mobile Data was ON since then till now, battery is around 89% already.
Maybe because of the previous custom ROM was better at power management I'm not pretty sure.
i notice my ZL battery drain faster.. but i found out its about the xperia with facebook sync.. cancel the sync then will feel ok ady.. since i do clean flash.. so everythings was still in new.. need some time to monitor it

LOL.. that is the official sony tester build 4.3 ROM. so its not 3rd party.. consumers build are 99% same i believe, the only 1% will be bug fixes if there are any. Wont lost the BE since we no need to unlock our phone bootloader.. it just download the FTF and flash like normal..
I repeated, its Tester build. So in future, we can flash back to android 4.2.2 fw.67 MY, and update to official consumer build when its rolled out.. soon i think will get the update from Sony in coming weeks.

i hope they will try to at least implement something new in 4.4
from what i noticed in 4.3 based on ur screenshots, i guess its just camera changes + some smoothness..
at least samsung kept implementing new software ideas/functionality on each update (hopefully sony will do the same, but that would mean it would be bloated )

hmm.. actually i just wish sony can fully utilised the current sony things.. small apps, additional theme, PSM, can be expanded more.. hopefully AR effect in camera can be expand more as well..

lol i disabled social live and lots of other sony apps... cuz none are useful :\
hopefully they can figure out ideas that could be implemented on the phone, rather than linking it to a Sony TV or something. lol. not many ppl want to view the phone items (images, videos, etc) on a large screen..
nexus = AOSP = so the gallery is default android, it will definitely be faster and such. cuz its pure vanilla oic, you got try to download the AR effects from play store?
yeah.. all can use.. but only 1MP.. LINE AR effect by taiwanese is 2MP.. these will ony nice in daylight situation.. indoor, picture quality very bad..

Disabled all the sync functions on the phone, disabled all touch sounds and vibrates, disabled adapt to lighting conditions and set screen brightness to about 25%,
Now I have a pretty good battery lifespan.

Sounds about normal .. USB output about 500mA right? Z battery about 2xxx mA ?2xxx/500 = min 4hours. In fact, if you are actively using your Z while connected to USB, I think the battery % will even drop eventhough it's charging (output usage > input).
My ZL came with a 1.5A output charger, but I used a 2A one for faster charging. Hope it doesn't burn out the phone.
If use stock charger, the phone should be fully charged within 1-2 hours assuming you're on 20% or less. If longer you might want to have the charger/cable checked. Touch wood it's not the battery/charging parts on the phone that is dead.

(not sure why but if you directly flash 4.4.2 from stock, it will not boot due to the system partition still having stock rom, but apparently pac-man is able to overwrite them to AOSP-based, so you can flash 4.4.2 after that)
------------------------------------------------------ i would say just go with CM11 4.4.2 12/15, at least i can restore without any problems (default sms to hangouts) then you can install xposed and have all the other AOSP features

If I have unlocked the bootloader on my phone then I reflash it to the original software... Will my warranty still valid?
most importantly backup your TA partition so you can restore BE2, DRM keys and other special sony features..
but do know that you can only have ONE TA partition in the world, which is your device's only. flashing other devices TA partition will result in permanent brick.
dude what custom rom u using? and yours is zl / Z? battery performance ok? any bug?
so far CM11 build as of 12/15 + PA stock gapps 4.4.2.zip = good
- got proper sleep, goes into deep sleep when it should.. - no wifi bug like 4.3.1 where you cannot connect properly after you off wifi for quite awhile - no "android OS" battery drain bug like the other 4.4 roms - battery is quite ok, ofcuz wont be as good as stock, but still good. - default battery stats also no bug, other 4.4 roms ppl report that its always "active", but on BBS it says phone went into deep sleep.
only thing you need to do is to flash the dialer zip if you want the "yellow pages" style kinda dialer , posted few posts back.
the only bug that still exist till today is wifi tethering, its funny that only certain builds will have this problem fixed. all depends on your luck..

Oh, i see. Yeah glad everything ok and all the stuff in my phone still there, they didnt format, but the only thing, they told me i should get within 2weeks but i get back in week 5.

And I traveling by boat a lot. Seems a good feature for me. But ironically, my note 2 gets splashed by my shower bath in bath room. It's mean I can take care of my phone while traveling but not at home.
