the case is made of 2 units: the inner one is the rubberised shockproof bumper which surround the whole of the screen and back, and the outer hardened plastic to fully protect the back. full info are here: http://www.case-mate.com/Sony-Xperia-Z-Cas...Tough-Cases.asp

i had a flipcase before that, but there isn't a bumper around the screen so if by any chance the phone fell directly right on the screen (while the case 'flipped open'), the screen would shatter. heh, that's my opinion la, thus my decision to get the tough case.

New Z user.. Was aiming to get ZL but found Z to be cheaper @.@'', straightaway got Z

Overall loving this phone. Would u guys consider directly using custom ROM for this new phone? Considering Avatar ROM or CyanogenMod

yup for Z already update to the latest firmware which is 10.4.1.B.0.101..
OTA also got dy the update..don't know y ZL not yet get..

god. Z2 released. =w= (within 2 years, 3 flagships phone dy)
with all features we(maybe not all) always wanted.
5.2' IPS (not TFT liao. LOL) , dual front speakers, camera software(4k, timeshift video),
and etc etc software things.
But my Xperia Z still have 3 years++ warranty.
I'll wait for Z4 or Z5. haha
Z2 kinda all I want, but we all know Sony phone capture "so so" image, still waiting for better image algorithem/software implement by them. wait lo wait lo ~

Here's what i found

different cable warrant different charges

This can be seen on Samsung galaxy with the galaxy charging app installed

Tested on Note 2
Sony Ori cable + Sony 1.5A Charger = ~900mA
Sony Ori cable + Samsung 2A Charger = ~1800mA
Samsung ori cable + Samsung 2A Charger = ~1200mA (cable might be problem already)
Sony Ori cable + YooBao YB637 1A = 1100mA
Cheap 2 meter flat cable + Sony 1.5A charger = no charge or sometimes 300mA
Cheap 2 meter flat cable + YooBao YB637 1A = No charge
why Sony ori cable+ Sony ori charger only supply 900ma?
so get an ori thick cable from whichever manufacturer

USB 2.0 is @ 500mA to start registering charges
too low the phone might not let it charge
USB 3.0 can supply up to 900mA charges

for me a flaw still a flaw

my current latest ones is a fine scratch on the back camera lens... :sob:   
even though the problem not evident on pics taken
but the feeling is always there

well it is a bit troublesome
well
normal user might not have this problem
