lol! this asus fan is weird. i don't recall there was a g54vw. maybe he meant g55vw :/

edit: no need to google also. goto nvidia.com and you can see the comparison chart:

[attachmentid=3859787]
*
most likely G45vw fits it the most.

ROFL!!! 6k for desktop and still trying to buy Alienware desktop? Build one mid high range also need that amount liao la. That's inclusive of monitor, keyboard and speakers leh.
*
Actually 6k is enough for high-end spec. Unless those dual xenon socket board like maxishine did was over the budget.

there is no such model also bro. g46vw yes. not g45vw :/ whatever it is, i hope buyers can at least think of business sustainability of sellers for a while.

with a 6k budget, i guess he can build a decent desktop by himself, then upgrade when he has some spares.
*
thx for correcting.

Apparently its not good enough to handle the 36.3MP RAW files from the Nikon D800 monster  laugh.gif Lagging here and there haha~

I think you might have to forego the Illegear or Surface in order to fund your ulti rig laugh.gif
As you grow older, there'll be more commitments in life haha, so aim or this while you're still young mate  thumbup.gif
U can do it~
*
Doubt so, but as we grow up. We'll just most likely unable to keep up with the gamer life and eventually opt for integrated graphic laptops for longer battery life and compact to carry along. Just like macbook.

QUOTE(horns @ Feb 20 2014, 01:40 PM)
no problem man biggrin.gif
thumbup.gif life with some distant goals are good to live smile.gif

i was thinking to build desktop rigs as a hobby when i am old and retired. (however by that time i am not so sure if there are still desktop parts available to do that)
*
Well, i haven't been upgrade my desktop since 2013 last added a SSD for OS. Others still stays intel qx6800, 4gb ram, AMD HD4850. Not sure to upgrade as this rig wouldn't want to die on me yet. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup, my point exactly laugh.gif
So do it while young haha  laugh.gif
Priorities change with age  XD

Still there are slim ultrabook with powerhouse graphic card. No sign of Alienware intending doing that though Razer Blade seems to push the market to get rid of OOD and provide slim and sleek looking power gaming laptop. Followed by Gigabyte P34G and Soon Lenovo Y40/50.

yeah saw that a while back. that sick mod is really tempting :/

however i rather build a desktop, instead of applying this mod to 18, because i can just put whatever psu that i want, safely.
*
I'm surprise M18x board can withstand that high wattage with no issue.

lol maybe that's over prepared biggrin.gif

now with the new 18 equipped with 4940xm and 880m 8gb vram sli, there might be someone crazy enough to mod the similar one soon.
*
That psu mod gave me an idea for those who needs Asus G Series adapter. Instead of buying from Asus. A mod like the AW could be applicable with 2x 90W(estimate max 180w) AC adapter from LYP.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Nowadays USB receivers don't give u a standing dock or any extension cords unlike the old days.

But then good luck in looking for a good signal with all the stuff that's blocking the signal. tongue.gif
*
I bought TP-Link TL-WN727N recently. It came with extension cord. RM12 for receiver and the extension. Average price for the cord is usually vary around rm8-12

8 beeps is rare to be happens, mostly happends on 3D model or 120hz LCD.

8 beeps isnt the major issue on M17xR4, as it doesnt have major issue.

Technology stuff mostly depends on your luck whether u are 'lucky' enough to get the problem unit.

1000 unit i might have 2 to 3 % problem, meaning 30 out of 1000 will be having factory default failure
*
well, that's just lemon unit from certain batch. Bad caps or hardware provided. It can still happen. biggrin.gif nod.gif

Area-51 has always been their flagship model and the highest end, even back in the days they brought in top-of-the line stuffs like 1000W PSU (sounds like a very big deal somewhere in 2005-2006), full liquid cooling system for the ALX series and even featured Intel Xeon CPUs and quad SLi setups.
*
Before that, Alienware is competing with Voodoo PC.

ah. almost forgot about the Voodoo PC tongue.gif

in the US there are several more competitors like CyberPower Inc, Falcon Northwest etc. Even Dell back in those days wanna compete with their XPS desktops laugh.gif
*
In the past during E3, most catchy booth will be Alienware and Voodoo before each of them are acquired by Dell and HP individually. Some of the Alienware staff resigned and started OriginPC(sounds familiar? brows.gif)

Voodoo M355 one of the claimed to be gaming laptop and that time Alienware was showing off ATi Radeon X800 in CrossFire.

thank you for reminding me that. That just inspired me of a switchable cooling method for laptop combining ares 2 and ares 3.
